    A. The head frame structure shall be zinc coated steel, attached to the pole by meansof a steel slipfitter and secured by four stainless steel setscrews. The headframe shallencompass six 6" nominal diameter steel cable sheaves. The headframe shall also includethree latch barrels which support the luminaire ring assembly when the lowering device isnot in operation. Latching shall be accomplished by alternate raising and lowering of theluminaire ring. All moving parts of the latching mechanism shall be attached to theluminaire ring assembly. The headframe shall be covered with an aluminum or fiberglasscover assembly.

    B. The power cord roller assembly shall consist of twelve rollers mounted betweentwo CR steel plates. At either end of the plates, a keeper bar shall be provided over thepower cord to keep the cord in its track during erection and normal operation. All electricalcords shall be attached to the weather tight wiring chamber with weather tight connections.A prewired 600 volt terminal block shall be provided in the wiring chamber. A weather tighttwistlock power inlet shall be provided to allow testing of the luminaires in the loweredposition.

    C. The hoisting cables shall be [zinc coated steel 7 x 19 aircraft cord of 3/16diameter] [stainless steel 7 x 19 aircraft cord of 3/16 diameter]. The winch cable shall be[zinc coated steel 7 x 19 aircraft cord of 1/4 diameter] [stainless steel 7 x 19 aircraft cord of1/4 diameter] with a minimum of four wraps on the drum after the device has beenlowered.

    D. The winch shall have an ultimate strength of 5 times the lifted load. The winchshall have a 30:1 worm gear reduction ratio and have an integral drag brake to preventfree spooling of the cable. The winch shall have power operation and hand crankcapability.

    E. The portable power unit shall be the heavy duty reversing type with a stallingtorque twice that required to operate the device. There shall be a torque limiter with a

shear pin designed to shear at 25% above the maximum torque setting. The power unitshall be supplied with an enclosed and encapsulated transformer to step down the voltageto 120 volts. All electrical connections shall be of the twistlock type. The motor shall becontrolled by a reversing switch on a 20 foot remote cord.

    PART 3 - EXECUTION
