2.6 Magnitude Earthquake, Beverly, Ohio - 1/26/2018

Small, deep (12 Km) quake across the OhioRiver from Parkersburg. Approximately 10miles from the margin of the Rome Troughbut still may be associated with “step-down”faulting parallel to the Trough. Notice thatthe epicenter of the fault is surrounded bywastewater injection wells. This suggeststhat seismic activity may be associatedwith injection activity although it is unlikelythat any of the injection wells are targetingformations at a depth of 12 Km (probablybasement rocks).
