In the SpotlightPercy Jackson

The black haired Perseus Jackson has blue eyes the color of the Caribbean Sea. He lives in New York City in an apartment with his mother and step-dad. Recently strange things have been happening to Percy; Hell hounds, Cyclops, Dracaena and other Greek monsters have been appearing in his life. Gradually, he is realizing that he is one of the targets of the monsters. Lately, he began developing the no-tion that he is a demigod. After these appear-ances, he has begun his desperate odyssey at Camp Half-blood to stop Krono’s plan to bring down Olympus.

Ever since you were born, your peers have been wondering about your case of ADHD, how does this make you feel?

Recently you have been encountering quite a lot of mon-sters, do you think the monsters will keep on coming?

Yes, there are strong and power-ful monsters out there, just wait-ing for the right opportunity to teleport from the underworld to our world. Kronos’s plans didn’t even commence, yet monsters are stampeding and attacking us. Demigods are very restricted rules from preventing monster encounters such as the no toler-ance for phones; the monsters can pick up our voices via phone.

Behind Life Read to the limit

My ADHD affects my life, especially in school. I

become the teacher’s prey. I just can’t pay atten-

tion at the teacher’s blackboard; the words are

all upside-down and scrambled up. The teacher’s

don’t understand my situation and so do my

friends. And because of my situation, I get in

trouble by the teachers daily. Group projects ar-

e another weakness. No one wants to pair with me because of my ADHD. Although when I come across Greek language it’s clear what it says.

The Truth about Percy Jackson

When you discovered that you were a demigod, son of Poseidon, what was your initial reaction?

I couldn’t even think when I found out that I was the son of Poseidon! I wasn’t happy or mad. I thought that I was crazy because I thought that I was the only demigod. I was wrong turns out that there are other demigods out there too, fighting for hope or falling to Kronos’s hands.

Recently the tragic accident, the boat explosion resulting the death of Beckend-orf, do you believe that Beckendorf is still alive?

I was taught from my mom that it never hurts to believe. Even though the explo-sion was harsh, I have passionate hope that my dear friend, Beckendorf is still alive.

This upcoming war will wipe most of the demigods away; do you think your father will be they’re supporting you?

Yes, every time that I needed him in battle or in just daily life, he talks to me telepathically. I can hear him in my head telling me the right choices. For example that time when Annabeth almost killed my in capture the flag and I couldn’t even stand up do to my brutal cuts, my dad told me to touch the water. I did. The water healed me physically and mentally to help fight back against Annabeth. I believe he’s there every second of my life watching over me.

When you arrived at Camp-Halfblood, there was a abundant of demigods around you, now the demigods are dy-ing during their missions. Do you believe there is hope to rebuild Camp-Half-blood?

I do agree with you. When I first arrived at Camp-Half-blood, the environment was welcoming and postive. Throughout the serene trees there were demigods practicing the sword battle, in the flow-ing grass they would practice their close combat and the at the end of the day you would see them smiling and patting each other’s back. The Camp isn’t like that now. We wouldn’t have practices with smiling to often; there was half as much people we used to have at camp. If we successfully win the barbaric war, there will be a strong hope of rebuild-ing and bringing back our lost comrades, including Beckendorf.

Welcome to my Life. It’s difficult and hard, just being you. Whether it’s emotional-ly or physically. The song “Welcome to my Life” brings emotion and the meaning of life into the world. It’s relating those who fall into emotional pieces to those who live with fortune. By this I mean people who think negatively into believing that they don’t belong in their environment and with their friends bring on emo-tions that result in loneliness, sadness and madness.

This song brings in true emotion with its figurative detail. Not only detail, but meaningful similes such as like somehow you just don’t belong. The quote from the song “to be like me” is interpreting that how he is feeling on the inside. Also there are symbols in the song that represent life’s cycle. “To be life out in the dark” is interpreting that the dark is relating to the negative side of life and that the dark can take you life into sorrow. Also in the song, it says: “lost” a lot. To me this means, when you’re lost between hatred and happiness; you don’t know where to go, it’s like a maze. This song is very deep and meaningful. It’s a per-fect reflection of the storyline and feelings in the Last Olympian. While to song triggers emotion and thought, the book also does that too.

The book’s storyline is about Percy’s harsh adventures to save the world from destruction by Kronos’s army. It’s difficult to be a demigod, especially for Percy. Percy has to defeat the world’s most dangerous threat in order for earth and mankind to survive and flourish. Also in the book, referring to the quote on page 199; I foresee the future, I cannot change it. To me, this line has a difficult meaning. All it’s saying is that the future can hold neither luck nor bad, but there will be no way of changing that.

Sincere Calm youself, Calm you Mind

I am from the bustling streets overcrowded with businessmen look-ing at the Empire State Building

From the crowded and rusty apartment filled pungent smell,I am the gruff scrape from the intimidating demon like monsters,

Minotaurs, Cyclops and SnakesColossal and hungry, they are death

I am from Poseidon The almighty sea god,

The supreme ruler and master of the stormy tidal wavesCrashing and thundering against the jagged shore with fierce

force,His eyes the color of the cryptic Caribbean Sea,

As I only saw him once. He is the puzzle of hiding,

He has memories and sorrow in his eyes, He is a gleaming god watching over me,

He is the illuminated stars watching me throughout somber nightHe is my father.

I’m from frigid thunderous rivers, soiled blacksmiths with their ponderous hammers

From the warm campfires to the scorching underworld, Filled with lamented spirits screaming like a ghastly maiden

Taking you soul into affliction and desolation, Holds the devil’s savage relationship,

The sinful god and ruler of the underworld, Wherever he saunters,

Crooked and sinister magic follows in his shadow, He is Hades.

Inside,Inside my precarious adventures,

Darkness and enmity fills my harmonious mind as if it was an in-ferno fire,

Love and friends overcome those diabolical thoughts in my heart,I am Perseus Jackson.

As a Demigod,

“If my life is going to mean anything, I have to live it myself.” This is a perceptive quote pulled out from the literature book, The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan. This book is vital and the heart of educational literature in the grade 8 curriculum. As a reader, I be-lieve that this youth novel should stay in the grade 8-curriculum education because of its vivid detail, humorous comedy and the thrilling suspense. Throughout this peculiar piece of writing, I will state and explain why the book “The Last Olympian” shall stay and flourish in the grade 8 curriculum.

The next thing I knew I was flat on the ground with a huge paw on my chest and an oversize brillo-pad tongue licking my face. This is an ideal match for the comedic side of the book. Entertainment is what keeps the reader excited and in the book. There are also many more examples of comedic comedy in the lit-erature.

Only few books have profound detail. Effective detail brings the

reader into the novel, making them feel like they’re in the book and the surrounding. Rick Riordan knows the key to ` bring the reader into the

book.

For example: Rachel raised an eye-

brow. “Really? Good.” She glanced at Blackjack, who was clopping his hooves against the hood of the Prius. This ex-

ample is truly the fundamental reflection of profound detail.

escriptive storyline is one other element that is a piece of a successful book. A descriptive storyline is what keeps the reader entertained and en grossed in the book. If a book has a feeble storyline, the reader will stray apart from the book. Here is one of Rick Riordan’s examples of a descriptive storyline; “The golden Titan laughed. “Don’t worry about him. Besides, the gods can barely handle our first little challenge. They have no idea how many others we have in store. Mark my words, in a few days’ time, Olympus will be in ruins, and we will meet here again to celebrate the dawn of the Sixth Age!”
