Adoration"The Church and the world have a great need for Eucharistic worship. Jesus awaits us in this Sacrament of love. Let us not refuse the time to go meet Him in Adoration, in contemplation full of faith, and open to making amends for the serious offenses and crimes of the world. Let our Adoration never cease." Catechism of the Catholic Church Paragraph 1380.

What to do in Adoration?1. Pray the Psalms or the Liturgy of the Hours. Whether you are praising, giving thanks, asking for forgiveness or seeking an answer, you'll find an appropriate psalm. The ancient prayer of the Church, called the Liturgy of the Hours, presents an excellent way to pray through the book of Psalms throughout the year. 2. Recite the "Jesus Prayer." Say "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner," repeatedly as you quiet your heart and mind.

The New Jersey Catholic Conference of Bishops has approved a statewide postcard campaign urging the State Senators and Assembly Members to support the NJ Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, A-1686/S-537. If passed this bill would protect babies in the womb at 20 weeks post fertilization (5 months and beyond). Current NJ state law allows for abortions up to 9 months.

On the weekend of October 5/6, we will have the opportunity to sign postcards which will be sent to our state legislators to advocate for changes to our state law. Along with educating our legislators, we need to raise awareness among our fellow citizens about the humanity of the baby in the womb. Consider sharing some of the facts listed above. We also need to show women and men that healing is possible for those who made decisions that they now regret. Visit Rachelsvineyard.org or call 877-HOPE-4 ME (877-467-3463) for more information.

God cares as deeply about the babies in the womb as He does you and me. Let's do our part to make sure they are welcome and protected. If you would like to assist with the postcard campaign on October 5/6, please contact Laurie at 856-767-0547.
