BOXTOPS NEWS: The last BoxTops Classroom Collection
Competition ends on this Friday, May 9th. Every class collecting
400+ BoxTops during this competition will earn a popsicle
party. Please send in your BoxTops this week so they can be
counted in this competition. Thank you.

NJHS Meeting: NJHS will meet Thursday, September 18.
Students may be picked up by the front doors of the school at
3:30. Any student not picked up by 3:40 will be sent to aftercare.
“Retake Picture Day” is October 3rd for all
students that missed last month’s school
portraits and for students that need retakes. Students that are
retaking their portraits, please return original school portraits to
the teacher. You must return original packet to have retakes
done on October 3rd. Thank you.
Crusader Club News
Basketball registration for 3rd grade thru 8th grade will run from
now thru October 17th. Registration fee is $45.00/child. Anyone
interested in coaching basketball, please fill out the appropriate
form on the school website: stjohnb.com click, “Clubs & Activities.”

News from the LibraryNews from the Library
Congratulations to our eight second graders who have
completed reading their 15 Caldecott books and turned in
their forms! How are your students doing reading for their
Caldecott or Newbery award? We have the rest of the school
year to complete the forms and turn them in.
Book Fair is coming! October 20-24, 2014 is
our Fall Book Fair. We will have extended
hours during the Parent-Teacher Conference
days. If you signed up to help in the library, be
expecting an email from me asking for help during that
week. If you would like to help and did not sign up to help in
the library, please send me an email to my school address.
Fun at Fall Festival!
Join us for a fun family day on Saturday October 18th from 12-
4:00 pm on St. John's Field! We will have children's games,
prizes, inflatables, food, a pumpkin decorating contest, and a
$500 Scrip or tuition raffle. Please return your pre-sale order
forms for game wristbands and meal tickets. Order this week
and save money! Order Forms and Pumpkin Contest flyer can
be printed from the PTO page of the school's website. Contact
your child's room parent or [email protected] to
volunteer. See you at Fall Fest!
PTO News:PTO News: Please join us for our next PTO Meeting, Tuesday
October 14th at 6:30pm in the cafeteria and find out what is
happening at our school! Babysitting will be provided in the
Music Room by the 7th grade for donations to support their
class activities.
Box Top Committee Report:Box Top Committee Report: THANK YOU! Due to your
outstanding collection efforts during the 2013-14 school year,
St. John's has received many wonderful reward items and cash
for our school! Box Tops for Education and Tyson's Project A+
earned $3, 642 for our school! We also earned many
wonderful reward items from Campbell’s Labels for Education
and My Coke Rewards, including an iPad, a 32" HD LED TV,
numerous classroom supplies, athletic equipment, toys and
games. Our 2014-2015 school year collection is off to a great
start. With everyone's participation we can match and exceed
last year's success! Keep up your wonderful collection
efforts. Thanks from the PTO’s Box Top Committee!

Can you believe that October is here? Our SCRIP fundraiser is doing spectacular this year all thanks to everyone who continues to participate! Every little bit helps and adds up towards supporting our school.
Our main SCRIP provider - GLSC – is finalizing their 20 Anniversary Celebration. For the first twenty days, October 1 - 20, a different retailer will offer a 20% rebate for 20 minutes only [from 12:00 – 12:20 pm Central time].
