Considering the game is only 7 years old, prices for Mass Effect Limited Edition have shot up very

quickly. One of the few Xbox 360 titles to be worth anything substantial, the Mass Effect Limited

Edition is probably one worth keeping hold of for a while until it reaches a higher price point. At

the moment, the Mass Effect Limited Edition can be sold for up to $400 if sealed, while open or

used copies are still under the $100 mark.

17. Luigis Mansion

Price: $100 There arent many valuable Gamecube games, but Luigis Mansion has become

something of a collectors item after garnering a cult following over the years. The game fell into

relative obscurity after releasing as a launch title for Nintendos console, never quite reaching the

popularity of titles like Super Mario Sunshine. Dont get too excited if youve got a copy labelled

with Players Choice they only sell for about $30 at most. However, if you own an original black

label copy, then its worth a nice amount, with used copies selling for up to $100. Sealed black label

copies of Luigis Mansion have been increasing in price monthly, with listings appearing in excess

of $1500.

16. World of Warcraft Collectors Edition

Platform: PC Released: 2004 Potential Sealed Price: $2,600 Potential Used/Worn Price: $300 The

World of Warcraft Collectors Edition mostly owes its value to the extremely rare ingame pets

that come with the key. The much sought after digital critters can go for up to $1800 on their own,

just for the code that lets players unlock them. Even if you own this collectors edition and have

already activated the game key, the box itself (with the goodies within) can still go for up to $300.

15. Shining Force III

Price: $250 Shining Force III was a relatively unremarkable entry in the Segas fairly solid RPG series,

other than its use of the scenario system. The game was released in three different parts in the

Japanese version, with only the first seeing release in North America. In mint condition, Shining

Force III has been sold on eBay for $2,499, while more battered copies can go for anywhere from

$10 to $250.

14. Trip World

Platform: Game Boy Released: 1993 Potential Sealed Price: $1400 Potential Used/Worn

Price: $200 Trip World was a great, if slightly odd, platformer for the Game Boy, featuring a bunny

questing to retrieve a magic flower. Not many cartridges were manufactured though, making it a

widely sought after item for Game Boy collectors. It was only released in Japan and Europe, with copies of either edition going for around $200 even loose. Sealed PAL copies have sold for over

$1300 in the past, making it one of the most valuable titles for the Game Boy.

13. The Flintstones: Surprise At Dinosaur

The Flintstones: Surprise at Dinosaur Peak would almost certainly be totally forgotten now, if it

werent for how valuable it has become. The game involves players taking control of Fred and Barney, as they race through the dino themed platformer. Its become a bit of mystery as to why

the game has become such a rarity, with many believing it was entirely exclusive to Blockbuster

rentals, though no conclusive answer has yet been found.

Price: $250 There were only 1,000 copies of the Dead Space Ultra Limited Edition ever made, which

is a large reason why they can now be sold for such an excessive amount. The set features a graphic novel, animated movie DVD, an art book, and two signed lithographs. Factory sealed copies of this

special edition have been listed on eBay for as high as $2,600, while unsealed copies are regularly

sold for between $200 $300.

9. Pokemon Red Blue

Of all the games on this list, this is the most likely one youll actually own. Millions and millions of

copies of the game were sold during the height of Pokemania, so this isnt exactly a rare collectors

item. However, thanks to nostalgia and the fact that many cartridges have since become battered

and bruised from use, a good quality copy of the game can fetch a nice amount. If youre in

possession of a sealed copy, theyre going for $500 or more on eBay, while good condition boxed

items usually fetch about $50 or so. If all youve got is the cartridge, then you may as well keep it,

they only sell for about $20 if youre lucky. Pokemon Red tends to sell for a slightly higher amount

than Pokemon Blue, thanks to the iconic Charizard being featured on the front.

8. Batman Forever Woolworths Box Set

Price: $1,600 This Batman Forever box set was only ever sold in British high street chain

Woolworths, making it a particularly sought after version of this SNES movie tie in. The game itself

was a perfect adaptation of the film its based on, as it was absolute rubbish. The set featured the

game, a making of VHS, Batman diary and a few other pieces of tat. We only managed to find

auctions that had used copies, and they were going for in excess of $1,500. There was also a Mega

Drive version that goes for a little less.

7. Superman (Picture Label With Yellow Text)

Platform: Atari 2600 Released: 1979 Potential Sealed Price: $30,000 Potential Used/Worn

Price: $1,000 This rare limited version of Superman for the Atari 2600 has become a very sought

after collectors item. The game was hugely popular, so chances are, if you owned an Atari 2600,

theres a good chance you had this game. Unfortunately, its only really valuable if its the picture

labelled version with yellow text. The picture label with red text still goes for up to $200 though,

although the standard text label version will only fetch you about $10.

6. Birthday Mania

Price: Unknown Designed specifically as a game to be gifted, Birthday Mania involved the player

blowing out birthday candles. It wasnt the most scintillating game of all time, but it did feature a

box and cartridge that could be personalised with the owners name. It sold terribly, and there was

a very limited number ever sold. However, only 2 copies of the game have been accounted for since,

meaning that there are a few people with an old birthday present thats now worth a small fortune.

Time to search the attic!

5. Magical Chase

Platform: TurboGrafx 16 Released: 1993 Potential Sealed Price: $14,000 Potential Used/Worn

Price: $7,000 This scrolling shooter title for the TurboGrafx was released right near the end of the

consoles lifespan, making copies very difficult to get ahold of these days. Magical Chase is also considered something of a classic in the genre, making it one of the most sought after video games

ever. We havent managed to find any factory sealed auctions, but one that claims to be in perfect

mint condition was sold for $13,900 only last month. Copies of the game that come in less than

perfect condition are still extremely valuable, frequently selling for at least $7,000.

4. Super Mario Bros.

Platform: NES Released: 1985 Potential Sealed Price: $25,000 Potential Used/Worn Price: $200

Considering its one of the best selling games of all time, you might be surprised to learn that

certain copies of Super Mario Bros. for the NES can fetch tens of thousands of dollars. There are several different versions of the game that can dictate whether or not its worth a large amount. A

sealed copy of the game in its normal packaging can be worth anything from around $600, while

an unsealed boxed version is unlikely to reach anything higher than $200. However, the most

valuable is one with rare Asian artwork, with one copy selling for $25,000 on eBay.

3. Uncharted 2: Fortune Hunter Edition

Price: $9,500 The extremely rare Uncharted 2: Fortune Hunter Edition was only possible to obtain

by winning a limited competition held by Sony, with only 200 ever made. Containing an incredible

art book and intricately modelled dagger replica, its one of the most lavish collectors editions

every made. If you were one of the lucky winners and youre short on cash, then worry not, youre

sitting on a gold mine. Sealed versions have gone for over $11,000, but even used versions have

been sold in excess of $9,000.

2. Air Raid

Platform: Atari 2600 Released: 1982 Potential Sealed Price: $33,400 Potential Used/Worn

Price: $4,000 The only game ever made by developers and publishers Men AVision, Air Raid is

notable for both its unusual blue cartridge with a handle, and its extreme rarity. In 2011, a copy that was only the cartridge itself managed to sell for $3,575. Later, in 2012, the first complete Air

Raid package was sold, with the cartridge, box and manual. It went for an incredible $33,433.30,

the highest amount ever paid for an Atari 2600 game.

1. Nintendo World Championships

Platform: NES Released: 1990 Potential Sealed Price: N/A Potential Used/Worn Price: $99,902

The Nintendo World Championships cartridges are the most expensive video games ever sold.

Earlier this year, one was sold on eBay for an astonishing $99,902, made particularly incredible by

the fact that it had a torn label with the word Mario written on it. The game is so rare because it was only available by competing in the legendary Nintendo World Championship tournaments in

1990. There are 90 grey cartridges and 26 gold cartridges in existence, with each copy containing

a timed version of Tetris, Rad Racer and Super Mario Bros. Some were concerned that the $99,902

auction was artificially bumped up by fake bids, but the transaction was marked as completed.

Other auctions for the cartridges can start at around $8,000, while gold cartridges begin at $15,000.
