“ Having started working as an assistant in a rural surveyors’ practice with no previous experience, the College was recommended to me by colleagues as an accessible pathway to becoming qualifi ed. I found the College to have an excellent reputation and I was impressed with the variety of courses on offer for all sectors of the surveying and construction industry.

The main attraction of part-time distance learning was the fl exibility to fi t study around my work commitments and reinforce my learning with practical day-to-day experience in the workplace. I felt that managing my own study timetable would improve my time management skills and ability to cope with deadlines – skills which I could refl ect in the workplace.”

“ I knew some real estate professionals from my country who had studied through The College of Estate Management. They spoke highly of the College. They were mostly in senior positions in the private sector. I was also further attracted by the fact that the courses, my course in particular, are RICS-accredited. This makes the College a natural favourite.”

“ The MBA in Construction & Real Estate is an interesting course because it offers the broad curriculum of an MBA but is focussed within a specific sector. The benefit of this is that it allows you to apply your new knowledge immediately within your own organisation, whilst considering the overall industry from a range of different perspectives. Upon completion of the program you have a much deeper appreciation of the complexity involved in running a company within this sector, but you are equipped with the skills to recognise, understand and manage the dynamic relationships between different business functions. This knowledge will ensure you are a highly valuable asset to any organisation.”

James Polkinghorne, MBA Director and Co-Founder, Asia Civil, Hong Kong

“ The course structure is logical and it guides you through the business world. The coursework allows you to draw on and understand the decision-making processes of businesses. I have started to analyse corporate situations differently and I can unequivocally say that I am using the knowledge from the course in my everyday business life. I would recommend the MBA programme to any management-based professional in the Real Estate industry and I fi rmly believe studying on the CEM MBA programme has made a difference to both my professional and personal life.”

“ The reason for my success was the equilibrium found between family life, work and study, which was made possible by my family, employer and CEM. I believe that the format of the courses is ideal for professionals and without it I don’t think I would have been able to attend a full-time course and achieve my goal of being the fi rst female RICS-certifi ed valuer in Albania. So, thank you to CEM!”

“ Having worked in the construction industry in numerous roles over the past 10 years’ I realised that the next level was to obtain a professional qualifi cation and membership of the CIOB.
