My Journey from Scratch to Special:
The very first day when I entered SKCET, what I felt was “Oh My God! This would be a superb place
for me to do my degree.” It happens when you see a college with a very good infrastructure and I hope
most of them would’ve felt the same.
Starting from Special First Year…
First year was one of the best years of my college life. We were under S&H department which contained
many common subjects for all the branches. Also we were new to college we couldn’t break the ice for
few days (maybe around 3 days) and after that we all were united. Lots of fun activities, combined
studies near library during internals, Industrial Visit to Ooty etc.. Mrs. Nirmala was our class advisor
during first year; we really enjoyed her guidance as it was little fun filled with some seriousness.
Sensational Second Year!!
We entered our IT department in the second year. We had no clue about the syllabus and other things.
So, we were little trembled with eagerness. Thank God! Second year was even more awesome as we
belonged to our pride (IT). After a week or two, lateral entry friends started to join the college. They
were initially shy to mingle with the regular people. But, we broke the ice and started to take part in all
the activities. We thoroughly enjoyed the classes taken by our beloved class advisor Mrs. Geetha, Mr.
Kannimuthu as they were really friendly with us. Our seniors became close to us and they guided us in a
good way. Things were damn good in the second year.
Tireless Third Year…
Third year was pretty cool in the fifth Semester as we had our core subjects, Industrial Visit to
Bangalore, Symposium etc.. We people became even closer in the third year and it was very energetic. I
was also given a big responsibility by our Favorite Head Of the Department “Dr.N.K.Karthikeyan”, the
man who was friendly and also little strict. I was asked to take care of the placement along with my
other three friends.
When we entered our sixth Semester, we were little bit cautious as it was our hardest time of the
engineering life. Yes, it was our placement time and we had numerous classes for three to four months.
We got placed in different companies and very few were left out waiting for further companies. They
were little upset as they didn’t get placed. But, they too got placed in many good companies. So, at this
point I would like to say one thing to all, “Life is a Race and you have to Run, Run, Run.”
Fervent Final Year:
This was the year which we didn’t want to have as it was the end of our college life. Life was very busy
with final year projects, placement drives, seminars etc.. Most of the times were spent in food court and
our labs by preparing for our projects. We couldn’t spend time with our friends much like how we did in
the previous years. Though we all are in contact with each other, we are badly in need of a time travel
machine to go back and cherish those college days!
My final thought:
“ Life at SKCET will be really awesome if you balance your academics and extracurricular activities”
So, I would like to thank all my staffs (teaching and non teaching) for making my life great at SKCET.
With Love,
Viswanathan. R

Lifelong Friendships in SKCET :
Developing lifelong Friendships during a college term is one of the most rewarding aspect of life. Since
many students are away from home it's amazing as you bond in different ways with people around you.
Potentially these bonds tend to sustain lifelong as you always have the feel that they are surrounded.
Developing these friendship definitely takes time as you may need to meet different types of people
every day in and out. At the end of the day it's all memories that you carry along. Thinking about the
beautiful days that we all have spent together in this span and longing for more days to come in the
future. It's always great to know you have a home away from home and friends are standing besides you
at your call. Cheers to all the friends of SKCET around!!
