BCN International workshop From 3rd to 7th April 2017

This 5-day workshop proposes a critical approach to 22@-Poble Nou urban transformation within the framework of in-progress projects illustrating a number of contemporary topics such us energy e cien-cy, circular economy, social innovation and sustainable mobility. Through on-site analysis of current implementation projects and com-parison with parallel European experiences presented by guest univer-sities, we aim to test the scope of these urban topics and their capacity to generate new urban forms.

Review of the partial implementation of 22@ Infrastructure Plan, the emergence of new ‘Ateneos’ and ‘cooperatives’ and the well-known street reurbanization of the so-called Superblock ´will be the starting point for this student charrette. Each group will focus on a di erent dis-course, testing the con nes and capacities of each topic in the aim of enriching the current transformation of this former industrial area.

This workshop is developed within the framework of the European Project “Integrated urban design e-studio for XXI century sustainable metropolitan region” in a collaboration between: Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona - UPCLa Cambre Horta - Université Libre de BruxellesUniversità IUAV di Venezia
