With great pleasure we invite you to the Regional workshop on Research Methodology and
scientific publication in NEIGRIHMS, Shillong, Meghalaya. NEIGRIHMS is a centre of
excellence and the First Postgraduate Medical Institute established by Government of India in
the North Eastern Region under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
NEIGRIHMS is providing quality Clinical care, Medical education, Research and training to
create healthcare experts and knowledge workers. The Department of Orthopaedics
NEIGRIHMS in association with North East Regional Orthopaedic Surgeons’ Association
(NEROSA), Indian Journal of Orthopaedics, National Institute for Locomotor disabilities
(NILD), Kolkata and NEIGRIHMS Shillong, is organizing this Workshop for faculty members,
medical and nursing students, biomedical research students, allied healthcare professionals etc to
sensitize, guide and augment their vital research skills and to network with national and regional
experts to succeed in publication of their research work.
AIM OF THE WORKSHOP
The conference aims to enable the delegates to reinforce their knowledge on research
methodology, biostatistics, research ethics and publication related difficulties. We hope
attending this conference will refresh and update your knowledge on major aspects of
biomedical research to bring out quality publications. We look forward for your active
participation and to make the workshop a grand success.
OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP
1. Acquire in-depth knowledge about research methodology in the context of biomedical
research and all types of thesis works
2. Understand the skills required to successfully present research results for publication in
good journals
3. Acknowledge the importance of applying correct study design, sample size, randomization
in the improvement of quality of research and impact on filling up the existing research gaps
4. Develop skills in biostatistics, reference management, research ethics and publication
ethics
