Come! Live in the light! Shine with the Joy and the love of the Lord!

We are called… to be light for the kingdom, to live in the freedom of the city of God.

Refrain: We are called to act with justice. We are called to love tenderly.

We are called to serve one another. o walk humbly with God!

Come! Open your heart! Show your mercy to all those in fear!

We are called… to be hope for the hopeless, so all hatred and blindness will be no more.

Refrain

Sing! Sing a new song! Sing of that great day, when all will be one!

God will reign… and we‟ll walk with each other, as sisters and brothers united in love!

Open to me the gates of righteousness. I will go into them and praise the Lord.

This is the gate of the Lord, into which the righteous shall enter.

I will give You thanks, for You have answered me, and have become my salvation.

The stone which the builders rejected has become the head stone in the corner.

This is the Lord's doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.

There‟s a place that I can see where we live in peace and liberty,

And our prayers can find a home in every heart.

Me for you and you for me, we‟re all part of God‟s big family;

We‟ll arrive there walking humbly with our God.

We‟ll be fair and do what‟s right, choosing mercy over pride,

And we‟ll gather every goodness as we go.

Loving kindness is the way to bring joy to every day;

We‟ll arrive there walking humbly with our God.

Me for you and you for me, we‟re all part of God‟s big family,

We‟ll arrive there walking humbly with our God.

Micah 6:8 with additional lyrics by Cantor Scott Simon

We‟ve come as one to serve You God with thanks for all Your blessings.

You give us life and sustain us and we love you day by day.

With hearts of joy or in times of struggle we know You are beside us.

We teach Your word in deed and song and Your truth will always guide us.

Do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with your God. (4x)

At Your command we‟ll humbly stand, a shield to hate and greed.

And as You provide shall we provide to feed all who may need.

We have no fear of the tasks ahead arm and arm we will work on.

With grateful hearts and this message loud we sing Your prophet‟s song.

You know what is right and what the Lord requires!

Do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with your God. (4x)

Responsive Reading : A Prayer of Thanksgiving in Honor of 20 years Deacon Gary Long

Written by Jay Jayapalan Of the Interfaith Council, Saint Mary Parish

You called us by name and we‟ve answered „Here I am‟. We come seeking Your guidance assured of Your steadfast love and mercy.

We acknowledge that there is so much more to learn about You than what we know.

May our diversity and our effort to understand each other aid us in understanding You.

You called us by name and we‟ve answered „Here I am‟. Too often Your words are used to fit into our story rather than

us offering our lives to fit into Your story.

There have been too many atrocities committed in the name of religion and

too many unspeakable things done against your people because of their faith.

Healing is possible only through hope in You which calls us to action in defiance of despair.

May the Interfaith Council be a beacon of hope.

You called us by name and we‟ve answered „Here I am‟. You are our God and You have claimed us as Your people.

We feel Your presence through those who love and care for us, feed us when we are hungry,

clothe us when naked and provide shelter to protect us.

May we continue to be Your hands and Your presence to all those we encounter.

You called us by name and we‟ve answered „Here I am‟. Thank You for the Northwest Suburban Interfaith Council and its presence

in this community for twenty years.

Thank You for this small group‟s dedication

and for the community's engagement to your purpose.

Thank You for using us as Your instrument of peace, may we continue to be so.

You call us by name and we answer „Here I am‟, Amen.

Halleluyah! Praise God in the sanctuary,

Praise God in the powerful heavens.

Praise God for the mighty deeds,

Praise God for infinite greatness.

Praise God with the shofar call,

Praise God with harp and lyre.

Praise God with drum and dance,

Praise God with flute and strings.

Praise God with crashing cymbals,

Praise God with resounding cymbals.

Let every breath of life praise the Lord: Halleluyah!

This is a day of celebration. This is a day to praise ~

Almighty God who loves and sustains us, faithful in every way.

Lord, we join with Your people – down through the ages ~

Your mighty deeds to share.

You have been faithful to all generations, this truth we now declare:

You are a great and awesome God.

Your wonders we proclaim.

You are our Rock, our Strength, our Shield, from age to age ~ the same.

You forgive us all our sins.

You transform us with your love.

With joyful, grateful hearts we sing: You are a great and awesome God!

This is a day of celebration. This is a time to rejoice.

This is the day to look to the future and give our dreams a voice.

With courage and faith we are running the race. We are thankful for this day.

Our hope is to be found worthy of our Lord in every way.

We are a chosen generation, a royal people, a holy nation,

called from darkness into light, so we must testify:

You are a great and awesome God. Your wonders we proclaim.

You are our Rock, our Strength, our Shield, from age to age ~ the same.

You forgive us all our sins.

You transform us with your love.

Hallelujah!

O praise ye the Lord in His sanctuary;

Praise ye the Lord in the firmament of his power.

Praise ye Him for His mighty acts,

Praise ye Him according to His majesty.

Praise ye Him with the sound of the trumpet.

Praise ye Him with the psaltery and harp.

Praise ye Him with the timbrel.

Praise ye Him with the dance.

Praise Him with the organ and stringed instruments.

Praise ye Him upon the loud cymbals.

Praise ye Him upon the high sounding cymbals.

Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord.

Hallelujah!
