Project1: Supply of Onshore Drilling Rigs (ONGC)
Valued at over Rs.7,740 Million
The order envisages manufacture and supply of 6 numbers state-of-
the-art 2000 HP onshore drilling rigs with AC drives.
BHEL has established facilities and a dedicated group of expert
engineers for manufacture, refurbishment and up gradation of onshore
drilling rigs/rig equipment.
The mechanical equipment will be manufactured by BHELs Hyderabad
plant, while the electrical equipments will be manufactured by the
companys Bhopal plant.
BHEL has supplied 84 rigs so far, of which 71 rigs have been supplied to
ONGC and 13 to Oil India Limited (OIL).
For ONGC, BHEL has also successfully carried out refurbishment and up
gradation of 33 onshore drilling rigs & is presently in the process of
completing it for 7 more.

Project 2: Setting up a 300 MW Thermal Power Plant
in Visakhapatnam ( Abhijeet Projects Limited )
Valued at Rs.6,300 Million
The contract envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply,
erection, testing and commissioning of Boilers, Steam Turbines and
Turbo-Generators along with state-of-the-art Controls & Instrumentation
(C&I) and other associated auxiliaries for 300 MW Thermal Power Plant
in Visakhapatnam.

Project 3: Installation of 160 MW Combined Cycle
Power Plant
(Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited )
Valued at Rs.3800 Million
BHELs scope of work in this contract envisages design, engineering,
manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of the Main Plant &
equipment for the Gas-based power project comprising one Frame 9E Gas
Turbine with Generator, one Heat Recovery Steam generator, one
Steam Turbine Generator and Associated Auxiliaries with state-of-the-art Controls & Instrumentation (C&I) system.
The equipment for the project will be supplied by BHELs Hyderabad,
Trichy and Bangalore plants, while BHELs Power Sector Northern
Region will undertake the job of erection and commissioning of the
equipment. BHEL which has Coal-based Thermal sets up to 1,000 MW rating has
introduced new rating Thermal sets of 150 MW, 270 MW, 300 MW, 525
MW and 600 MW, in addition to 250 MW and 500 MW sets in the sub-
critical range in order to meet customer demand.

Project4: Supply and installation of ESP package for
2x660MW Supercritical Thermal Power Project (NTPC)
The order for the Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) package has been placedon BHEL by NTPC Limited for the supercritical Solapur STPP-II in
Maharashtra, being set up under the Mega Power Project Policy of the
Government of India.
BHELs scope of work in the contract involves design, engineering,
manufacture, supply and erection & commissioning of the complete
Electrostatic Precipitator package.
The ESP shall be manufactured at BHELs Ranipet plant while the
High Voltage Rectifier Transformers will be supplied by the companys
Jhansi plant. BHELs Power Sector Western Region will be responsible
for erection and commissioning of the ESP.

Project 5: 500 MW thermal power plant in M.P (NTPC)
Valued at Rs.11,430 Million
The contract envisages setting up a 1x500 MW thermal powergenerating unit at NTPCs Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station
(STPS), in Madhya Pradesh.
On commissioning of the unit, 12 million units of electricity will be
added to the grid of the power deficit state M.P. every day.
BHELs scope of work in the contract envisages design, engineering,manufacture, supply and erection & commissioning of Steam
Generator and Steam Turbine Generator along with associated
Auxiliaries and state-of-the-art Controls & Instrumentation.
The equipment for the project will be manufactured at BHELs Trichy,
Ranipet, Haridwar, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Bhopal Plants, while thecompanys Power Sector Western Region will be responsible for
erection and commissioning of the equipment.

Project 6: 1,020 MW Hydroelectric Project in Bhutan
(Punatsangchhu Hydroelectric Project Authority)
Valued at Rs.9,500 Million The order envisages manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning
of the electro-mechanical equipment for the 1,020 MW
Punatsangchhu-II Hydroelectric project.
For this contract, the six Francis Turbines and Generators of 170 MW
each and associated equipment will be manufactured and supplied byBHELs Bhopal facility while the Control system will be manufactured and
supplied by BHELs Electronic Division at Bangalore.
Till now, the company has successfully executed three Hydro Projects
there, 336 MW Chukha, 60 MW Kurichu and 1,020 MW Tala .These
projects today account for nearly 95% of the total power generatingcapacity in Bhutan.
