Groundwork's/Concrete/Rebar disposal to site, is the responsibility of Modebest.
Hard-core/masonry skins wills be produced by SCL. It is then the sub-contractors responsibility to place any debris into these skips.
Waste/rubbish collection facilities will be positioned on each level of each block.
The bins will be collected from these locations and taken to the compactor/skips and removed from site for recycling, then
returned to their respective collection points on each floor.
There will be clearly labelled wheelie bins, showing which waste stream should be placed in each bin.
Any elements that are returnable will be the responsibility of the relevant subcontractor. It is our Logistics Manager’s
responsibility to manage and audit this process to ensure returnable items are returned including all/any liaison with
Subcontractors.
The site will be patrolled at regular intervals to ensure that:
• Waste is being put into the bins provided.
• Waste is segregated into the correct bin.
• Materials are stored in the correct location and are adequately protected.
• Items such as pallets, cable drums, packing crates and stillage's which are deemed to form part of the waste stream are
returned to the original supplier, at the responsibility of the subcontractor.
Transgressions of the site cleanliness regime will result in the offender being issued with a Non-Compliance Notice.
Prior to issuing Non-Compliance Notices we will use our reasonable endeavours to highlight the issue to the subcontractor, unless of a health and safety breach.
Non-Compliance Notices will be issued utilising a fixed fee contra charge notification system.
The system will include the taking of digital photographic evidence and then electronically issuing to the defaulting
subcontractors for non-compliance of their cleaning responsibilities.

Material distribution
30 of 46
• Delivery/Collection vehicles only permitted between 8:00 & 18:00 from Mon-Fri, due to the planning constraints and consideration of the neighbours.
• This is a very restricted site, so all materials need to be off loaded & distributed to the correct level promptly.• All deliveries will be booked in by the electronic booking in system, which also allows booking of, beam hoist ,hoist
or crane. Delivery vehicles must keep to their booked in time slot or they will be turned away.• All delivery drivers must be told NOT TO STOP IN THE ROUNDABOUT if they cant pull in to layby they must drive on.• Hoist will go from ground to 10th floor roof with landing on gantry as well.• Framework contractor will require half of the 5th floor slab as his storage area. • Floors will have to have walls left down for movement of materials (see following drawings) all bulky materials for
the remainder of works in these flats needs to be loaded out before walls are built.• Materials for 5th floor can be landed on 5th floor roof by crane till crane goes.• All roof materials will be off loaded by crane/hoist.• All precast concrete Mullions will be off loaded & installed by main crane and spider crane.• All vertical transportation is by SCL i.e. hoist drivers and crane driver only – Subcontractors need to provide
competent / trained men to sling and move material into and out of hoists. The gantry has been designed so materials can be wheeled from the beam hoist to the hoist, subcontractors must provided the means to wheel these materials.
• The ground floor will be able to be accessed from the road layby in certain circumstances through the pavement air lock gates, if it is agreed with SCL management that a subcontractor will use this route then the subcontractor must provide sufficient operatives to operate the air locks safely.
• Small delivery vehicles will be able to access the basement via the ramp at the back of the building rigids will not be able to turn the corner to gain access to this ramp. This though, will only be permitted in the last 6-8 weeks of the project.
• No materials are to be stored on the gantry, loading platforms or within the vehicle lay by.
