With a campus of 6,000 full-time students, teaching quality is at the heart of everything we do. A testament to this is the fact that the University of Bolton has been awarded 5th in the UK for teaching quality. Passionate lecturers dedicate themselves to ensure that their teaching is both current and supportive. We are teaching intensive, research informed, which means the industry knowledge our lecturers have, you will enjoy, giving you the chance to excel in your area of study. You will also receive support from personal tutors, peer-assisted study and online resources.

“Given the smaller than average class sizes, I get the opportunity to provide a bespoke and very practical

experience in my teaching. I enjoy being able to hone those crucial skills that are required for all students

when they move into employment, and I love that when a student graduates, I know their back story,

and how hard they have worked to accomplish their degree. From a lecturer’s perspective, there is no

better feeling than seeing your students succeed.”––

“Working on live briefs with clients is an excellent way to develop both as

a designer and a person. It allows you to prepare for industry, as well as gain in

confidence by working alongside a client. I think this is fundamental to developing as

a designer and I am grateful to have had this opportunity, so early in my career.”

UniAt the University of Bolton we make settling into University life as smooth as possible. When it comes to student accommodation, Orlando Village is the only approved and recommended provider, providing private bedrooms with a shared kitchen, bathroom and dining area as well as full internet access and laundry rooms.

The location is just a short walk from the main campus, and is close to both road and rail links. Plenty of parking means that those who drive can leave their car in a secure area as there is 24/7 security and CCTV surveillance. There are also accessible ground-floor rooms for disabled students.

Alongside Orlando Village, you’ll also find private accommodation, if this is something you’d be looking to explore, speak to our Student Advisors see p38 for contact details.

“There are plenty of options for you when coming to Bolton for your studies. You can find yourself a place in

Orlando Village halls of residence. I would recommend this for first year students as

it helps you with socialising with fellow University students, and helps you get

familiar with the town.”––

Going to University is not only a great way to kick-start your career, but make friends for life. Spending time with students who have the same hobbies/interests as you is a perfect platform to start a friendships.

All students are invited to get involved in our community through the many clubs and societies on offer. A club or society is a great way to make new friends. If there isn’t something that floats your boat, you can get together with some friends and set up your own society.

During Welcome Week, you will have the opportunity to get involved and discover what is going on, and around campus.

“I am currently studying a qualification in customer service and am hoping to progress onto a business admin qualification as well.

Alliance Learning (ConnectED) fitted my traits to a job that was right for me by finding out about me personally, before I went to any interviews.

They also provided me with more than the necessary skills to succeed in every step

of the application.”––
