Coronavirus Impact

▪ Regular payments for annuitants have proceeded as scheduled.

▪ All CTPF employees have laptop computers and have been operating remotely.

▪ CTPF has increased communications to members, sending publications to home addresses instead of schools, and sending Enews twice a month.

▪ The Board of Trustees continues to conduct the business of the Fund with public meetings using Zoom technology and will continue to do so as allowed by the OMA.

▪ Education and training has been moved to webinars, which has resulted in increased access by members.

2021 Financial UpdateC + I = B + E

In addition to revenue from investments, CTPF now receives contributions from four major sources: the State of Illinois, a tax levy, CPS, and employees. CTPF has received approximately $863.4 million in revenue as of June 30, 2021, including:

▪ $305.6 million in property tax receipts

▪ $266.9 million from the State of Illinois

▪ $211.9 million fromemployee contributions

▪ $79.0 million from the Chicago Board of Education (CPS)*

*The Board of Education has a balance due of $234.4 million is expected to be paid from the property tax levy and received by December 31, 2021

2021 PENSION REP WEBINAR

The Chicago Teachers’ Pension Fund (CTPF) is governed by a 12-member Board of Trustees. The Board includes6 trustees elected by the active teacher membership, 1 trustee elected by the active principals and administrators, 3 trustees elected by the retired membership, and 2 trustees appointed by the Board of Education.

Teacher Trustees are elected to represent theinterests of active contributors. CTPF will hold an election to fill two open seats on the Board of Trustees. Voting credentials will be issue by mail this year and the election will open October 18 and finishes November 5, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. (CT).

2021 Election Process

YesElections serves as the independent agent retained by the Board of Trustees to administer the Elections. YesElections’ duties include:

▪ Verifying the nomination petitions and providing a list of eligible candidates

▪ Preparing the election voting website

▪ Mailing voting credentials to all teachers

▪ Tabulating election results

▪ Reporting final election results to the Election Coordinator

▪ Voting credentials will be mailed to all teachers on October 18, 2021, by YesElections

▪ Voting opens at 8:00 a.m. (CT) on October 18, 2021

▪ Vote at CTPFTeacherVotes.org

▪ Voting closes at 5:00 p.m. (CT) on November 5, 2021

▪ Voting credentials will also be emailed to valid email address on file starting on October 18 at 8:00 a.m.

▪ Voting can be accessed from any computer or hand-held electronic device.

contribute to CTPF, which also includes:

▪ Credentials will also be emailed to teachers on October 18.

▪ The Election Agent can email credentials to teachers who do not receive credentials by U.S. mail.

▪ For viewing a webinar AND sharing information with teachers at your school, you will receive a $100 stipend.

▪ Complete an Attestation Form and return by November 19 to receive your stipend in December.

▪ Late forms will be held for a second round of payments to occur in the new year.
