FRIDAY, JUNE 11, 2021Noon - 6:00 pm (6 CE Hours) Mastering the Rotator Cuff (6 CE hours) Dr. Brandon Steele, DC, FACO Sponsored by ChiroUp

Rotator cuff injuries alone account for 4.5 million physician office visits per year. Management of this problem can range from frustrating to rewarding, depending on the depth of your training. This class is a practical 8-hour workshop outlining everything participants need to know about successfully treating shoulder and elbow problems. Dr. Steele will highlight the latest research-based “best practices” for evaluating, managing, and directing simple in-office or home-based rehab. He will also present a complimentary hands-on workshop of specific mobilization and manipulative techniques per diagnosis. Attendees will leave this class with greater understanding and confidence about how to manage the most common problems outside of the spine.

SATURDAY, JUNE 12, 2021

8:30 am - 10:30 am (2 CE Hours) Alabama LawAlabama State Board of Chiropractic Examiners

This will be a practical discussion of Alabama Rules, Regulations and Laws. This session has been approved to fulfill the annual Jurisprudence Requirement of the Alabama State Board of Chiropractic Examiners.

1:00 pm - 5:00 pm (4 CE Hours) Chiropractic Imaging and Case Studies Dr. Steve Gould, DC, DACBR, FICC Sponsored by NCMIC

During the first half of the session, Dr. Gould will discuss multiple abnormalities of the upper cervical spine that may or may not have predictable neurologic signs and symptoms. Some of these disorders may not be amenable to spinal manipulative therapy. Plain film radiographic and advanced imaging findings will be discussed for various anomalous and pathologic conditions. In the second half of session, Dr. Gould will present multiple “real world” cases from fellow chiropractors. Clinical presentation and imaging findings will be discussed for many of these interesting and sometimes surprising cases. This presentation is sure to keep your attention, as these patients could easily walk into your office depth of your training.

SUNDAY, JUNE 13, 2021

9:00 am - 3:00 pm (6 CE Hours) Lower Extremity Biomechanics and the Management of Common Lower Extremity Injuries Dr. Kurt Juergens, DC, CCSP Sponsored by Footlevelers

For the past 30 years, Dr. Juergens has been treating world-class athletes from around the globe. During this 6-hour presentation, Dr. Juergens will review lower extremity biomechanics and will share his experiences on how to diagnose and manage lower extremity injuries. He will also demonstrate how to incorporate into your practice state of the art modalities and a variety of active care techniques. Dr. Juergens will present case studies on common and uncommon lower extremity conditions. This course will provide useful information that you can implement in the treatment of your patients when you return to work Monday morning.

9:00 am - 3:00 pm (6 CE Hours) Vertebral Subluxation – The past, present, and future Dr. Eric Russell, DC, MBA, DPhCS, FICA Sponsored by NCMIC

The learning objective is for attendees to understand the current scientific concepts of vertebral subluxation. The class will cover the evolution of vertebral subluxation in the chiropractic profession. The class will cover the different concepts of vertebral subluxation, a review of basic biomechanics and neurology, and will categorize the components of subluxation. The bulk of this presentation will be from Leach’s “The chiropractic theories: a textbook of scientific research”. The presentation will conclude by looking at current published research in subluxation and a discussion of the discourse happening today in the profession concerning subluxation.
