We are a team; we are all in this together. And nothing can keep us from moving forward in faith. We understand, If God is for us, who can be against us?(Romans 8:31). Im looking at my March monthly planner, and I see many events postponed or canceled. Unless something changes, the March 26 th Chamber of Commerce Coffee Hour at the Larned UMC will be on-line only. The facebook live event will begin on the Chambers page at 9:30 AM. Please join us. Concerning small group or similar meetings, please contact the respective committee chairs or leaders. We have a calendar in the office too. We will continue our e-mails, mailings, and on-line worship services until the restrictions are lifted and more people can attend in person. Please, everyone, stay healthy. We care about you. We need you! Given how quickly the restrictions changed within one to two days last week, we have not canceled the April 3 and 4 Congregational Care Ministry training. I may pursue an on-line attendance training option, and other uses for technology in ministry. The Congregational Care Ministry RSVP deadline is March 25 th . If the event is canceled, of course, we will refund peoples registration fees. The training may also be rescheduled. Even though we must order resources for the training, we understand flexibility in these unpredictable times. We will know more about the coro- navirus group restrictions as April gets closer. Once a final decision is made, I will contact everyone who registers and is otherwise involved to inform them. I dont want any of us to rush into a cancelation only to regret that decision later. Its probably also too early for us to decide about the Stations of the Cross ministry, Palm Sunday festivities, and Easter events. We realize prayers are heard and answered so we continue to pray for health and healing, peace and comfort, hope and wisdom. I thank everyone who has taken on extra responsibilities as we continue to reach our church families and com- munities. Please keep Joyce Studes and Roger Foxfamilies in your thoughts and prayers. Even though we couldnt gather together in-person to celebrate their lives and legacies, we can still mail cards with our condolences, and our personal memories of them to their family members. Our prayers, compassion, and memories will help them through this time of heartache. Please contact the office with new announcements, praises, and prayer concerns. Again, we will continue our mailings and e-mails until our schedules return to normal. Lets pray for our pew neighbors, call them, and/or e-mail those we can. There are many on our hearts. Our prayers continue for them. As I look outside, I see the beautiful spring weather. The sun is shining. The grasscolor is more vibrant than yesterday, and flowers are blooming. I am reminded that when anxiety and fear surrounded the disciples, they too found joy. Our celebration of Easter is coming! Our resurrected Savior said, “‘Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you’” (John 20:21). What is Jesus sending us to do in these unusual times? As individuals, small groups, or a congregation, what ministries are we called to expand, and new ministries are we called to start? What is God whispering, the Holy Spirit nudging, or Jesus telling us to do?

Pastor Trish’s Notes

As I write this newsletter article on Thursday, March 19th, I’m thinking, “What an interesting past week it has been!” On my way to an out-of-town Course of Study class last Thursday, I was informed the in-person Friday and Saturday class was now an on-line class, and that was just the first of many unexpected changes in my schedule, changes that have made me learn in new ways and minister out of my comfort zone. I wonder how many of us heard a whisper like Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God,” read words from Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble,” shared other scripture, prayed more, or contacted those on our hearts. We are a team; we are all in this together. And nothing can keep us from moving forward in faith. We understand, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). I’m looking at my March monthly planner, and I see many events postponed or canceled. Unless something changes, the March 26th Chamber of Commerce Coffee Hour at the Larned UMC will be on-line only. The facebook live event will begin on the Chamber’s page at 9:30 AM. Please join us. Concerning small group or similar meetings, please contact the respective committee chairs or leaders. Holy Communion; the great Thanksgiving

The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. It is right, and a good and joyful thing, … And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven we praise your name and join their unending hymn: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. Holy are you, and blessed is your Son Jesus Christ, … as we proclaim the mystery of faith: Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again. All honor and glory is yours, almighty Father, now and for ever. Amen.

UMH#895 Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Events posted in this Evangel were scheduled before COVID-19 started to effect our sched-ules. So many events are subject to change. We will keep you posted on updates as we know

them!

Corona virus, COVID 19, pandemic, panic, hoarding, and social distancing! All are words we were not saying or hearing just a short time ago. In fact, I don’t ever recall experiencing anything remotely like it in my life time. We are all feeling the uncer-tainty and in some cases fear that the last few weeks have brought to our doorsteps. We feel some degree of social isolation,

whether it is not joining together in worship or choosing to suspend prayer groups, or, maybe, forgoing a cup of coffee with a friend.

But we are not any of us alone. We call one another, wave from a distance and, of course, we pray for each other and the wider neighborhood and world. Certainly each of our individual prayers is heard by God as a mighty chorus asking for his help in times such as these. We all must continue to give in this moment of uncertainty, as well. People are, or may well be, finding

themselves in financial difficulty. Gifts to our church will find their way to friends and neighbors to ease their anxiety, fear and needs. Let us give and pray as a mighty chorus to God. ”You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on

every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” 2 Corinthians 9:11 submitted by Steve Hetzke, finance committee

lion again & God’s blessing to all. Love, Dolores

From Operation Christmas Child: Thank you for your help in packing shoe-boxes for OCC. Every shoebox matters because every child matters to God. Our church is a part of the Lower Midwest

Region. LMW had an increase of 30,898 boxes,

United States had an increase of 148,537, “Amazing that almost a quarter of the US

increase came from the LMW.”

Happy April !!!!!!!!!!!!! I sure don’t want to harp on this to long as it is on the news constantly, but the corona virus has robbed us of our livelihood. Our lives have all been put on hold, but one thing...Our Lord and Savior is still with us and watching over us.. So I say thank you Lord for your care your love and your safety. I am anxiously awaiting Easter and praying that we can do our ser-vices. This is one of the most important times in our life and the life of Jesus. He has risen. He is taking care of us and He is the best friend I could have now. He once again helped me through a pickle of a time and brought out with a shout. Once again thank you. I am also waiting on the flow-ers, spring is springing out all over and I am anxiously awaiting the time to get in the gardens and start the clean out. But the weather people are talking snow still so I will wait patiently for the correct time and then I will get started. The flowers blooming remind me of Jesus’ rebirth. They last throughout the winter and bloom so prettily. Okay now, please take care of yourselves, your neigh-bors, your families. We shall make it through this pandemic, with prayer and cleanliness. Pray pray pray. Thank you Pastor Tricia for all you do and for Brenda keeping us all informed. You are both a God send.. God bless you all and please stay safe. I love you and I will pray for all of you. God bless, once again...Elaine.
