We offer various watersports from canoeing to sailing, and if getting in the water isn’t what you fancy we also have many different land based activities to choose from.

All of our instructors hold full outdoor first aidcertification with enhanced DBS checks in place.As well as AALA and AAIAC we also hold the Learning Outside the Classroom Award. This ensures that you can be confident in the quality of any session you have with us here at Astbury.

British Canoeing Paddle Awards Wherever there is water,there’s a road for a canoe

Age Range: This course is suitable forparticipants aged 7+.

Price: £60 per person per day. No previous experience is needed.


Booking: Advanced booking and payment is essential either in centre or via our website.

Whether you are a beginner or king of the high seas, the paddle awards will help you develop your paddle skills and you can work your way towards achieving the exciting new British Canoeing Paddle Awards!

There are three stages to complete which are:Start, Discovery and Explore.

Any paddle craft can be used to complete thecourse and it is accredited and certified byBritish Canoeing.

All courses run from 10am - 4pm.

RYA Sailing CoursesComesail awaywith meIf you would like to learn the skill of sailing, no matter what your age there is an option for you at Astbury Watersports Centre. We have courses available from as young as 7. So if you either want to fly solo and learn a new skill or rope the whole family in we have something for you.

All courses are accredited and certified by the Royal Yachting Association.

No previous sailing experience is required to partake in Stage 1 or Level 1 but you must hold lower qualifications to progress to Stage or Level 2.

All courses run for 2 days from 9am - 5pm.

Age Range: This course is suitable forparticipants aged 16+.

Age Range: This course is suitable forparticipants aged 7 - 16.

Price: £120 per person for a 2 day course per level.

Weekend Water Activities Let’s gopaddlingWeekends are for the water at Astbury Watersports Centre. Every weekend and Bank Holiday starting from 5th April all the way through to 31st October we have a range of fun water activities for adults, children and families..

Paddle Club:Wake up feeling fresh on a Sunday morning and head down to take part in our paddle club. For just £6 per session you can be a part of our regular club that helps you to develop your skills. You can also work towards the Paddle awards and get your progress signed off by our instructors! Please note: boats are subject to availability.

Lets go Paddling:Weekends are for adventures, with our let’s go paddling it couldn’t be more simple..

School Holiday Programmes Come and Make Memories inthe GreatoutdoorsAre your children always complaining they are bored in the school holidays? Do you want to get them from in front of the TV and exploring the great outdoors?

Look no further we have you covered. From kayaking to bushcraft we have a wealth of activities. So whether its one day or a whole week you want we can guarantee your children will make memories that will last a lifetime.

We recommend bringing a change of clothes and a towel with you. For water based activities please wear something a little older that you don’t mind getting wet and dirty. We also advise to wear older, closed toe shoes.
