L. Song RichardsonDean and Chancellor’s Professor of Law at the University of California, Irvine School of Law with joint appointments in the Department of Criminology, Law and Society, and in the Department of Asian American Studies.
Dean Richardson is the second dean of UCI Law, and at the time of her appointment, was the only woman of color to lead a top 30 school. A leading expert on implicit racial and gender bias, Dean Richardson has consulted with public and private entities on the development of practices to address racial and gender disparities within their organizations and practices.
Dean Richardson received the American Association of Law School’s Derrick Bell Award, which recognizes a faculty member’s extraordinary contributions to legal education through mentoring, teaching, and scholarship; named one of the Top Women Lawyers in California by The Daily Journal; and selected as one of the two most influential Korean Americans in OC. In 2020, she was appointed by Gov. Newsom to the CA Penal Code Revision Committee.
ABOUT VOICE FOR GIRLS Voice for Girls is an interactive think tank for Orange County’s decision-makers and key influencers, hosted by Girl Scouts of Orange County (GSOC) to align local leaders around a vital mission-- to support and champion girls in reaching their full potential in society.
