Adventure

Every day is rich with exploration. Kayak in a quiet cove eyed by an eagle.

Snorkel with a raft of sea lions nibbling on your flippers. Beachcomb rocky

shores uncovering layers of tiny ecosystems. Get out and explore in our

favorite playgrounds where nature and the potential to cross paths with

wildlife lead the way. If you’re new to any activity, we’ve got you covered.

From kayaking 101 to your first time on a paddle board, your expedition

team helps you find the right fit and is at the ready to lend a hand. At the

end of each day, everyone has stories to share.

Place

The only sounds, a kittiwake’s call or an oystercatcher’s whistle, a calving

glacier or the splash of a breaching whale. A calming effect happens when

your surroundings are truly green: the forests, water, and sea turtles, and

our care for the environment and wildlife. There’s a reason we go deep,

listen to the locals (even howler monkeys!) and opt for remote corners.

It’s not just because they’re magnificent. It’s because it’s in these secluded

reaches where you use all your senses to discover a place. Your captain

and crew have a nose for opportunity—the narrowest channels and tiniest

towns. Trust that you will go there. And expect the unexpected.

Connection

Meet your tribe. From solo adventurers to multi-generational families,

travelers come with a range of stories, but always share a few attitudes:

enthusiasm for exploration, eagerness to discover, and readiness to unwind.

You might not know it yet, but these are your people. And with an open-

hearted crew leading the charge there’s never a lack of expertise, and

everyone is at ease. Small activity groups are both intimate and wilderness-

compatible. No lines or wrangling for space to view wildlife. Just questions

answered and tales traded, connecting to nature, your travel mates, and

yourself. The best way to see these places is stepping into them with folks

as excited as you.

small ships, BIG adventuresWelcome aboard. After a crew member gives you a quick tour of your

cabin, take a stroll around the ship and head to the lounge for a glass

of bubbly and to meet your shipmates.

Then you’re off on an all-out active experience, thanks to our uncompromising

commitment to going places and doing things others can’t. It’s that mission

combined with cozy groups that sets us apart. Small ships—hosting 86

guests, tops—fulfill unimpeded excitement about truly getting in the wild

with a few nature-leaning souls.

Like each of our adventurers, no two UnCruise departures are ever the

same. Yet all experiences engulf you in nature. Engage with our favorite

places (they’ll soon be yours!) with your body and mind—through active,

on-the-ground, in-the-water explorations. You’ll learn a lot. And, we like to

think, look at the world a little differently when you return.

Snapshot: In sync.

“We just couldn’t have planned a trip that was more perfect for us. We value the same things—learning, adventure, care for the world around us. No need went unmet.”

Finding our Un-ness

Alaska, the birthplace of UnCruise, was wide open for exploration. Almost

25 years later, innovation continues to be at the core of our motto. Today,

we are still driven by our commitment to leaving the charted course and

really exploring what the world has to offer. Your crew, and everyone

working hard behind the scenes, has a fierce love of travel and a deep

respect and appreciation for the wilderness, wildlife, culture, and heritage

of the places we visit. We’re pretty proud to say this rubs off on our guests.

UnCruisers

Our small ships are intimate, and it doesn’t take long for guests and

crew to get comfortable. Plenty of laughs are shared on board during

meals, cocktail hour, and on excursions. But it’s more than shared

experiences. As travelers, guests quickly discover similar hobbies and

interests. We bet you’ll find something in common.

Wondering who your fellow adventurers might be? They hail from all

walks of life. A medley of ages, lifestyles, places around the globe;

couples, singles, and generations of family; educators and the educated

(be it the school of life or a PhD), savvy travelers, entrepreneurs, even

the occasional celebrity. From the young to the young-at-heart, they

generally like each other. So much so, it’s not uncommon to see them

traveling together again.

Snapshot: The long and winding moat.

unbeatable. 7

Unparalleled Value From your very first inquiry, expect personalized service and expertise—and a host of benefits that make us unique.

Seriously—they’re aces. Our guides have vast and deep experience, plus an impressive

collection of advanced degrees in curiosity-peaking subjects from whales to fungi

to geology. Their enthusiasm is infectious.

Kayak or paddle board. Snorkel or skiff. Beach stroll, hike, or mountain goat climb.

There are plenty of options and equipment for everyone to join in the fun.

You didn’t know it would be this good. Chefs (including pastry chefs) impress meal

after meal with locally sourced ingredients, swoon-worthy desserts, and baked-

on-board breads.

What most defines your trip is included in the fare—excursions, adventure equipment,

transfers, and baggage handling. Put your wallet away (until it’s time to recognize your

topnotch crew).

We’re all in the same boat. Crew and guests alike, wide-eyed with wonder and

childlike curiosity—and it shows. The excitement. Laughs. Collective energy. Then

hug it out at the end of your adventure.

Accommodating…and then some

Small group travel—from the ship itself to groups of a dozen or so afield—puts you

in on the action (not watching from afar), with AHA! and “I-can’t-believe-I-just-did-

that” moments around every corner.

Boats are comfortable, welcoming, and unique in style and personality. All are

adventure-ready for gearing up, kicking back, and mixing and mingling.

Do as much or as little as you like. On top of the daily activities, ease into the day

with sunrise stretches on the top deck. There’s exercise equipment at the ready,

anytime. Or just watch the landscape go by.

An astounding array of beverage options, both non-alcoholic and alcoholic (signature

cocktails every night!), mean you’re never far from a toast. And it’s all included.

Dietary restrictions? Special occasion? Need a little extra help on a hike? It’s

our business to make sure your adventure not only matches your needs and

expectations, but surpasses them. Just ask and we’ll do our best!

Ready. It takes permits—thousands of them—to live out our adventure dreams.

A process that starts years in advance, it’s a big part of what sets us

apart. To keep protected areas wild, the National Park Service, U.S.

Forest Service, Tribal Councils, and other agencies often regulate how

many people and commercial operators can enter an area and what they

can do there. We’re honored that they welcome us.

Once in these wild places, it’s your crew that makes your experience. Your

onboard team includes the captain, mates, engineers, chefs, expedition

guides, and hotel, galley, and deck staff. All incredibly talented yet unique

in the flair they bring on board. Like you, they’ve found their un-ness.

Each crew member is hand-picked for their outstanding knowledge,

experience, customer service, and safety skills—as well as their genuine

enthusiasm and welcoming spirit. Crew members undergo training in

areas such as leadership, CPR, wilderness response, safety, guest services,

and Leave No Trace practices. In other words, you’re in great hands.

Your ship is equipped with regional books and your expedition team can

answer any questions along the way. From whale and bear aficionados to

fluvial geomorphologists (those who study how rivers shape the earth),

your guides are full of facts and ready to share. Sit in on an after-dinner talk

or pull them aside with one of your burning questions. If they don’t know

the answer, they’ll find out.

unpack. 9

Set. Preparing for all the possibilities can feel daunting. But keep it simple

with a few essentials and you’ll be set in a snap. Calf-high rubber boots

are crucial for Pacific Northwest hiking and Alaskan bushwhacking—and

are the ticket to dry feet. In warmer climates, pack your sandals or reef

shoes for kayaking and paddle boarding. Trail conditions in Mexico and

Latin America call for fully enclosed hiking shoes.

Liquid sunshine or cloud failure, adventures carry on. Let your mantra be

“layers, layers, layers.” Add them on, peel them off as needed. The sun can

shine bright in all our destinations so sunglasses and a brimmed hat do

well to make it in your bag, too. As for general clothing, our guides helped

create a packing list of destination-appropriate items to reference long

before you travel. Pack the right gear plus your spirit of adventure and

you’re on your way.

You don’t need a PhD in cultural or natural history to have a full experience,

but it can be fun to get a head start on exploration. That’s why we share

recommended reading lists for each destination, plus interviews and bios

on any accompanying theme experts. Get to know the people and places

of your journey beforehand and get a jump on adventure.

Go. HikingBushwhack through brush or take a low-key tromp through Alaskan glacial

mud and intertidal shores. Columbia & Snake Rivers and Pacific Northwest

trails switchback up mountains and across fields. In Latin America,

jungles are thick with roots, and trails well-worn by wildlife. A hike into

a Mexican arroyo has elevation and possible rock scrambles. From easy

strolls to an hours-long thigh-burner, hikes run the gamut, and we have

hiking poles if you need them.

Kayaking & paddle boardingPaddling through ebb and flow can be a workout or a natural way to reach

your destination. Open kayaking is offered, but most are guided outings

lasting from one to four hours. Paddle boards are also available in most

destinations. If conditions are mellow and the water is smooth give it a try.

Your guide shows you the ropes.

Skiff ridesFrom a quick shuttle ashore to a two-hour exploration, skiff rides get you

farther faster. Want an easy-going adventure? Just settle in and focus on

what’s around you. Skiff rides are a piece of cake, and fun, too.

Snorkeling & polar plungesJump in—snorkeling activities range from deep water “jump and go” from

a skiff to snorkeling 101 lessons. Your guides are there to help and get

you fitted. Wet suits are available on board in some destinations and

many guests also snorkel with a noodle. And let’s not forget Alaska’s polar

plunge—a giant leap off the fantail into frigid water. Only for the brave or

double dog darers. They’re out there!

Emerson sum up our philosophy pretty well. Our Family Discoveries program

celebrates the curiosity and wonderment of kids of almost every age—from

age 8 to 98 (and beyond!). Share a journey across generations.

It’s easy for families to adventure together with options to accommodate

triples in higher cabin categories on six of our vessels. And while there are

no adult-free play zones and no babysitting services on board, everyone

learns while having fun:

• Identifing flora and fauna

• Face painting with glacial mud

Glacier Bay National Park

AlaskaYour guide leads the way for a close-up of good old-fashioned Alaskan

muskeg. Trees drip with pale green lichen—locals call it witch’s hair or

old man’s beard. Rain pings on a pond. Shiny black mushrooms line a

tree stump (awnings to a critter’s tiny home). Two flickers of brown peek

through the green. A mom and baby moose navigate with trepidation.

Even the guide is surprised to see them.

Moss and moose, thunderous glaciers, and tiny potato birds on the wing.

Alaska is full of surprises great and small. UnCruise is the first to arrive,

the last to leave, and nobody does it better. Your captains and crew know

the area as intimately as they know their ships. Sharp eyes peeled for

eagles, puffins, mountain goats, bears, and along the Canadian Inside

Passage, Kermode “spirit bears.” And of course, humpback whales. Hike,

kayak, play in the mud, hot tub under the stars, and take a polar plunge.

Plans for everyone, whatever your level of activity.

Spring into fall, each route explores Alaska a little differently, but for many

spring is their favorite time of year (you practically have Alaska all to

yourself). Others prefer the popping colors of fall with its shorter days

and greater possibility of Northern Lights. Fares differ depending on your

vessel, departure date, and itinerary, but there’s an excellent option to fit

most any budget.

And bursts of laughter. We scramble hand-over-foot into the rain-soaked Tongass bush. Splattered with Alaskan mud, we can’t help but admire the modern art taking shape on our boots and faces. An eagle soaring above lets out a high-pitched whistle. A compliment or critique, we can’t be sure.

Hawaiian IslandsOutfitted in snorkeling gear, you’re ready for a little nightlife. Underwater

“campfire” lights at the bottom of the ocean face up to attract plankton,

which lures Giant Pacific Manta rays—the guys you’re here to party with. Just

as you exchange anticipatory looks with your shipmates, a manta rises up

from the dark, feeding a few feet away. Come daylight, you’ll snorkel, kayak,

paddle board, or sail past green sea turtles, pink tail triggerfish, “gentle

giant” whale sharks, or spinner dolphins leaping alongside the bow. A

marine sanctuary like no other.

It’s true that the island vibe wafts across Molokai, Hawai‘i, Lana‘i, and Maui

like the sweet fragrance of plumeria. But these scents and sights are more

than paradise; they’re part of tradition and culture for Native Hawaiians.

The same plumeria is turned into your welcome lei. The taro plant—grown

in patches beneath heart-shaped leaves—pounded into poi. You learn

all about this ancient tradition as you “talk story” with the locals. It’s just

Hawaii’s way of saying ‘aloha’—which is basically love. All year long!

Mexico’s Sea of CortésThe Romero family and their mules take two days to cross the mountains,

a slow and steady trek that’s a precursor to your own. Meet and greet

the family and get matched with a mule that’s just your size. Trace the

intricate design on the hand-carved saddle and hop on! Your journey

is along the beach, up and over easy hills, and through a palm tree oasis.

These local rancheros know every bend in the trail—guiding you with their

songs and easy trot. If your mule thinks he’s found a shortcut, a friendly

thump sets him back on track.

From prickly poppies to parrot fish, the Baja peninsula stretches across

arid mountains to the rich ecosystem of the Sea of Cortés. The desert

plunked in the sea. Island hopping in Mexico means hiking up rugged

landscapes along red rock rims one day (stay sharp and you may spot

a lizard running from one hot rock to another) and snorkeling with

sea lion pups the next. Magnificent Frigatebirds and gulls fly between

cliffs and hummingbirds are drawn to red flowers. By night, stargaze,

watch the water for bioluminescence, or soak in the hot tub with

cocktail in hand. Paradise found? You bet!

you the ropes.

• Snorkel with sea lion pups and colorful reef fish

• Mule ride into the arroyos with local rancheros

• Search for whales in the Sea of Cortés or Bahía Magdalena

Sliding from the skiff, our guide smiles encouragingly. Swimming slowly along the craggy islet, schools of fish dodge from our path. A flash below, then another. With gymnastic speed, a juvenile sea lion swims up, floating face-to-face, then zips away. Others join in, swimming loops, peering into faces, occasionally mouthing my flipper like a puppy.

Galápagos IslandsSet sail for the past. On Isla Floreana’s Post Office Bay a barrel mailbox

still stands—and operates—from the days when whalers sent messages

home. Covered in driftwood scrawled with messages, it’s an emblem of

Darwin’s days you have to touch to understand. Drop a note to tell the

tale of your journey, becoming a part of centuries of stories.

The Galápagos Islands go back millions of years to when finches flew

overhead, Blue-footed and Nazca boobies danced on the shoreline, and

the giant tortoise lumbered through the bushes. These creatures are still

there as you’ll see by ship, shore, and on your visit to the Charles Darwin

Research Station, learning about conservation efforts to protect this

iconic marine habitat. Each island is filled with discoveries and its own

endemic species. On Isla Rabida, hike through cacti and beaches colored

red from lava while marine iguanas soak up the sun. Sally Lightfoot Crabs

skitter about on the youngest island, Isla Fernandina. Spot whales and

dolphins from a panga or glass-bottom boat. It’s island hopping at its

most exotic.

Columbia & Snake RiversLegend has it that the 200-foot-high Palouse Falls was formed by a fight

with a mythic creature, “Big Beaver.” In the struggle, Big Beaver gouged

and tore at the canyon, forming the twisting bends in the river below. Now,

you find traces of the battle in the gaps, cracks, and clefts lining the canyon

walls. Feel the legend in your feet hiking atop for the view. Embrace the

story in your arms paddling the Palouse River. It’s a step, paddle, or swim

back in time. Long ago yet right now.

These aren’t sit-on-the-sidelines cruises. You’re in the middle of it all—

jumping into adventure or tasting your way through the rivers’ wine and

culinary scene. Each day the great outdoors calls: coulees and canyons,

evergreen forests, and dramatic basalt cliffs. Explore the rivers’ trails on

foot or by bike, and along shore by kayak and raft. Or, opt for a focus on

wine, craft beer, and culinary touring and tasting (sipping from casks and

meeting winemakers) at vineyards, wineries, breweries, and cideries. It’s all

included—yes, all of it. Plus, your travels are topped with a dose of history

and geology. Follow the path of Lewis & Clark from desert to rainforest.

All you need to pack is your spirit of adventure.

Pacific NorthwestAn old-growth forest blanketed in moss is the perfect place to try

“forest bathing.” You don’t need your swimsuit (save that for the hot

tub). Forest bathing is simply being in the woods, fully present. Among

the trees, your eyes don’t know where to look: up to the canopy of

green with the hope of catching a bald eagle soar by, or down in search

of the Pacific Northwest’s famous banana slug. Trust your feet—and your

expedition guides. Breathe in the air, like saying ‘hello’ to an old friend.

There’s magic in these trees.

Back on board, your small ship slips through rugged islands and inlets,

alongside glacial fjords, and past sea lions and pods of orcas. Watch from

the bow or hop into a sea kayak for a better look. Rain or shine, gear up

(we love our boots and rain jackets) and go from ship to shore on an

easy beachcomb in tucked away coves. Harbor seals and sea stars are

just around the bend.

Local. Fresh. Inspired. A simple motto with delicious results. Our culinary program begins by building relationships with local farmers

and vendors—with a focus on what’s fresh and sustainable. Field to table and ocean-friendly seafood from the

waters we cruise in. The result? Innovative, nutritious, and tasty dining experiences that highlight flavors of the

region. In Alaska, sample buttery-rich Dungeness crab caught live, in-season, by local fishermen. Or try roasted

pineapple with mascarpone ice cream and banana bread crumble in the Hawaiian Islands. A true taste of place.

What you can expect

• Early-riser breakfasts of fresh fruit and baked-on-board pastries

• Full breakfasts with hot and cold options

• Lunches featuring salads, sandwiches, homemade soups, and regionally influenced dishes

• Varied hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour

• Dinners with a choice of entrées including fresh, local seafood, meat, and vegetarian dishes

• Made-from-scratch desserts like tiramisu and lavender panna cotta

• Vegetarian dishes available at all meals

• Special dietary needs can be met with advance notice

Unless there’s a special barbecue or lunch on shore, most dinners are served over several courses. Attention is

always paid to your personal preferences. And dining is casual with open seating so you can join new friends and

choose a different table at every meal.

Celebrating a special occasion? Let us know when you book your cabin. Our expert pastry chef, and all the crew,

love shout outs.

“Food/meal quality was way superior to what I’d expected in terms of variety, freshness and presentation. …How staff in the kitchen managed in such a small space is beyond me! Delicious.”

through the wee hours of the morning. After dawn, head chef and sous

chefs prepare the hot-from-the-stove portions of the meal. Masters of

innovation and improvisation, menus spark with inspiration.

Your galley crew is attentive to ingredients and how food options meld

with the activities and conditions of the day. Savory salmon cake starters

after an invigorating hike. Belly-warming soups follow a chilly glacier

adventure. Cool cevíche, a fresh palate-pleaser in tropical climes. At

mealtimes, there are vegetarian, meat, and fish options. If you can’t

decide, try a sampling—just ask for half-and-half!

Wetting Your Whistle The vibe depends on the vessel. Your setting might be reminiscent of a

neighborhood pub, intimate wine bar, or upscale lounge. Specialty coffee

and teas are always available. Wines tend to come from Washington and

Oregon, but impressive international wines are also available. Most of our

boats feature sustainable cask wines on a rotating tap.

Behind the bar you’ll find premium and small batch, craft spirits. Along

with cocktails mixed with seasonal, local ingredients, house-made mixers,

and cordials, even some house-infused spirits (like a cucumber vodka or

gin). The UnCruise Bloody Mary mix is popular, too (guests line up for

the stuff). Call us cocky, but we’re confident that we can hang our hat on

having the best craft bars afloat!

And while the occasional tastings do pop up, the nature of most bartenders

is that of a tinkerer. Inspiration can come from the unique experiences of

the day, the wilderness explored, or stories from hearty explorers—Lewis &

Clark, John Muir, and you. With a specialty cocktail of the day, creativity is

always shaking—or stirred. So drink up! Fine wines, spirits, and microbrews

served on board are included in your fare.

The FleetMuch like members of any family, each small ship in the fleet has its own character and is different from its

siblings; yet each is comfortable and inviting. Your home away from home.

Designed for action and bringing the outside in, their shallow drafts mean access to places bigger ships can’t

go. All cabins are outside (either the window faces the water or one step through the door and you are out in

the fresh air).

From a kayak launch platform, swim step, or activity-launch in tow, to a lodge-like feel with creature comforts

(no internet and most guests don’t miss it), each of our ships is there to deliver.

Wilderness Adventurer 60 Guests / 27 Crew / 30 Cabins / Length 160’

Like your favorite, hippie-cool aunt, she’s sage, soulful, and game for every adventure—and likely the one leading the charge. The unassuming Wilderness Adventurer has style and all the amenities needed to get the job done. It’s just as comfortable moseying into the lounge for a pint as it is leaping from the fantail for a polar plunge or sketching a landscape from the sun deck.

No doubt, she lives up to her name. The mantra on board could be: work hard, play hard, relax, repeat. The ship’s easy-going, fun-making energy inspires fierce loyalty by her crew and guests alike.

Inviting, and oh so cared for by her crew, the Wilderness Discoverer delivers big adventure with top-of-the-class style. She has Alaska in her soul—and a beautiful bar top and tap tower made from a yellow cedar log found in Peril Strait. But looks aside, she doesn’t hold back when it comes to exploration. Her shoal draft allows access to waters that are off-limits to bigger boats, where she can slip right in. An instigator of action, she was the first “Wilderness” boat in the family and set us on a path toward greater adventures—you will be, too.

Daring and ambitious, and a wee bit salty. The Wilderness Explorer was destined for Alaska’s deep waters from the first moment she slid into the drink. As mariners say, she’s tough—a strong “sea boat” with feet, who’s not bashful or apologetic in her unflinching drive to seek out secret niches.

Embracing change, the crew is known to try the untried—whether it’s a new anchorage, gaining access to an unexplored trail, or a creative new recipe with local ingredients. Get to know her, and she’ll warm your heart.

Safari Voyager 66 Guests / 30 Crew / 34 Cabins / Length 174’

Discreet, sleek, and stealthy, the Safari Voyager is comfortable in warm water regions and built to handle humidity and heat. Tropical adventure, wilderness access, and the natural landscape are always at the forefront. A seamless extension of the places she sails, the ship and her mostly local crew exude pura vida (pure life).

Handcrafted artwork throughout the vessel pays homage to the regions of Latin America. Casual in nature, the Safari Voyager is a bit of a show-off, too—take in 270-degree views from the top deck or window-to-window lounge.

Safari Endeavour 84 Guests / 35 Crew / 42 Cabins / Length 232’

Polished, unwavering, and upscale, the Safari Endeavour may be the workhorse of the fleet but it’s her zest-for-life persona that’s remembered most. She looks sharp—a nod to the crew who work hard to keep her that way. Always reliable, the crew takes great pride in their ship and the teamwork that keeps her running smoothly.

No other UnCruise ship covers more territory, and like her namesake, Captain Cook’s Endeavour, both the ship and crew are true explorers. Her roomy lounge, dining room, and sun deck are undisputed, but this boat claims to have the biggest heart, too.

The one-of-a-kind Legacy sails to the farthest reaches spinning yarns of adventure along the way. Like the crew and guests having the time of their lives, she hums with each new opportunity. It’s no wonder that for many of the crew (and office folk), she’s a first love that never fades.

Equipped with kayaks, paddle boards and skiffs, and in Alaska, the Sea Dragon— her launch pad to adventure. She is ready for exploration, and has the most spacious viewing decks in the fleet. Wherever she sails, she announces her arrival with the blow of a whistle.

Safari Quest 22 Guests / 10 Crew / 11 Cabins / Length 120’

Agile, spry, and with clean design lines, the Safari Quest can cut into the tiniest nooks that even our other small ships can’t reach. This includes coveted wilderness areas with highly limited access. For those most special adventures, she is the ticket in.

While small is her secret for access, on the inside this yacht is anything but. Spacious and comfy cabins. A cozy and welcoming lounge and dining room. And plenty of onboard niches for nestling and relaxing. Feel the love.

This high-end SUV of a ship is nimble, strong, and loving. Her performance-built rugged construction means access to faraway regions. But it’s what’s on the inside that makes this yacht the prize of the fleet. And with only 36 guests on board, the feel is decidedly exclusive.

Lovingly called “the Bulldog,” she’s poised, her interior is a pearl, and the general mood is down-to-earth. A protective spirit is infused in every part of the ship, and within the crew. She’s made for adventures after all and with them comes inevitable fun and folly.

La Pinta 48 Guests / 27 Crew / 24 Cabins / Length 209’

Elegant and sophisticated, La Pinta would steal the show anywhere less impressive. Instead, she’s the perfect complement to one of the world’s greatest environments. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the lounge showcase the views. An outdoor Sky Bar and sun deck, and décor that nods to the nautical.

Geared up for adventure play and wildlife, the yacht also has a fun-to-explore natural history library. Her Ecuadorian crew exudes friendliness fueled by pride in their vessel, the Galápagos Islands, and a desire to share them both. Some things are too good to keep secret.
