MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR I (Track Inspection Cars)-Duties & Responsibilities: Will be responsible for the maintenance operation and supervision of the Track Inspection Cars. Must have a working knowledge ofall tracks and yards throughout NYCT's system, and must be able to inter-face with Line Managers,Superintendents, Dispatchers and Yardmasters, to assure the efficient and safe operation of the TrackInspection Cars. Must be able to be qualified to operate the Track Inspections Cars if so required. Knowledgeof NYCT's Rules and Regulations (including signaling and train operations) is required. Must be computer knowledgeable and able to use printers, hard drives and data units and other personal computer equipment. Will be responsible for the supervision of all repairs, maintenance calibration adjustments and modifications to the diesel, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic on board the Track Inspection Cars.Must be able to read and interpret, car equipment diagrams for troubleshooting. This position requires goodknowledge of the maintenance and operation of Diesel, Mechanical, electrical, laser, computer and other specializedequipment onboard the Track Inspections Cars.Candidates will receive on the job and also manufacturers' training on the special equipment and measuring/inspection equipment on board of the Track Inspection Cars; employees must demonstrate proficiency inunderstanding the material offered by manufacturers' training and a good understanding of the overallmeasuring and inspection systems on the Track Inspection Cars. Employees must be able to read and interpret measuring equipment diagrams for troubleshooting, evaluate measuring equipment conditions, and diagnose and calibrate electrical, mechanical, and computer issues on the Track Geometry, Applanix, Tunnel Clearance, Right of Way Video, Thermal Image, KLD,and ultrasonic inspection systems that collect data along all NYCT main line tracks.

Work hours and RDO's may change at anytime due to the needs of the Track Inspection Car's runs and the availability of track access.

They must maintain inventory on spare parts for all surfacing equipment and be familiar for procedure for ordering parts and equipment. They must train personnel on proper procedures used in equipment repair and track surfacing when required.
