Supreme Guardian Linda and Associate Supreme Guardian Tom, along with the Supreme Arts and Crafts Committee invite you to enter the 2019-2020 Supreme Arts and Crafts competition.

There are many exciting categories to enter this year, so we hope that EACH daughter will enter at least one of them. You do not need to attend Supreme Session in 2020 to participate in the competition! You may send your items with someone that is attending. Let’s show everyone how talented Jobies are!

We are asking all participants to PRE-REGISTER for the 2020 Supreme Arts & Crafts Competition.

Please read the general rules for the competition as well as the specific guidelines for each category. If you have any questions, please contact Julie Deason, Chairman, by either phone or by email.

AGE GROUPS Age is based on date of registration, June 1, 2020. Arts & Crafts categories will be judged under the specific age groups as follows: • Seniors: Ages 15-19 • Juniors: Ages 10-14 • Jobie to Bees: Ages 7-9 Additional breakdowns may be added based on registration.

Exception: The PROMOTION category will NOT be broken down into age groups.

The Daughter’s age as of the registration deadline, June 1 2020, determines which age group the Daughter should enter. Jobie-to-Bees may enter all categories.

PRE- REGISTRATION ALL items entered in the competition MUST be pre-registered. The pre-registration form may be emailed or mailed to the Chairperson. The committee requests Early Bird pre-registrations by May 1, 2020. The final deadline to preregister is June 1, 2020 and no entries will be accepted after this date. This will help the committee obtain an accurate count of awards.

QUALIFICATIONS • Job’s Daughters submitting entries must be in good standing with JDI as of 7/26/2020. • The contestant must have made the entry during the current Supreme Guardian Council year, August 2019 – July 2020.

VERIFICATION The Chairman will acknowledge all email pre-registrations by a return email. If you wish acknowledgement of a mailed registration, please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope.

2020 Supreme Arts & Crafts General Rules, continued



ENTRIES How to enter Arts & Crafts items for judging Pre-registered entries may be mailed or hand-delivered to the Arts & Crafts room at Supreme.

Mailed entries must be received by June 1, 2020.

Hand-delivered entries are to be submitted at the La Vista Conference Center in Omaha, Nebraska, starting on Sunday, July 26, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., but no later than Tuesday, August 28, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. Please check the actual Session information at the hotel for any adjustments to entry times.

No late entries will be accepted unless caused by a travel emergency.

Additional information • A contestant may enter only ONE item per Category. • The contestant does not need to be in attendance at Supreme Session to enter. • The name of the person responsible for picking the entry must be clearly stated. • The entry must be as described on the pre-registration form; substitutions will not be accepted. • Entry forms must be legible or will not be accepted. • Contestants are responsible for storing their own packing material. Packing material left in the competition room will be discarded.

PREPARING A sealed envelope must be attached to each entry with the following information listed on the ENTRIES FOR outside of the envelope: SUBMISSION • Daughter’s Age • Category The inside of the envelope must contain a copy of the actual entry form.

CATEGORIES Each contestant determines which division and category she wishes her entry to be judged. However, the Arts and Crafts Committee reserves the right to adjust categories.

Please read the rules and guidelines for each category. Failure to comply with these rules will result in disqualification of the entry. The Supreme Arts and Crafts Committee reserves the right to disqualify an entry at its discretion based on content in keeping with the rules and regulations of Job’s Daughters International.

JUDGING • Judging will be done Wednesday, July 29 from 12:00 - 5:00 pm. No viewing of the entries will be allowed before or during the judging. • Judging will be based on the following, as applicable: originality, design, artistry, presentation/layout, degree of difficulty, craftsmanship, neatness, and finishing. • Completed judging score sheets will be given to the contestants. The decision of the judges is final.

VIEWING The competition room will be open for viewing Thursday, July 30 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm and Friday, July 31 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. All entries must remain in the competition room during this time.

PICK-UP Entries must be claimed from the committee on Friday, August 1 between 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. unless other arrangements have been made with the Arts and Crafts Committee Chairman.

CATEGORY RULES
