Calling all Superyacht Chefs and Interior Crew to showcase their talent and style by entering the MYBA Superyacht Chefs’ Competition to be held during the 32nd MYBA Charter Show!
Superyacht Chefs!This is your chance to honour and support Australia by… putting another shrimp on the barbie and whipping up a sublime Pavlova!
Interior Staff, stewards and stewardesses! Time for your artistic skills to shine with Australian themedtable decor and wine pairing using Australian wines.
THE CHALLENGE
FOR THE CHEFS
To prepare a “fine dining” take on the Australian BBQ using three main*ingredients: 1 meat, 1 fish and 1 vegetable.All grilled to perfection.
And for dessert, a modern, deconstructedor classic take on Pavlova.

THE LOGISTICS FOR
THE CHEFS’ COMPETITIONYacht chefs will have the opportunity to surprise the judgeswith their knowledge of Australian ingredients and impress them with the manner in which they are incorporated in their dishes.
All cooking and preparation is to be done onboard. Your helper may assist in plating and serving only.
A total of 6 plates need to be prepared for each course, 5 taster plates for the judges and 1 full size dish to be photographed.
6 copies of your menu must be provided, 1 for each judge and 1 for the table.
Your competition meal can be served in the onboard location of your choice, dining saloon, aft deck, sun deck or saloon.The decision is yours.
All Chefs accepted into the competition must attend the Chefs’ Briefing where they will be given the exact time the judges will come aboard.
Your BBQ and dessert must be served in the allotted time andjudges will remain onboard for 30 minutes.
In addition to the Chefs’ Competition, a table decor contest will be open to the Interior Crew. This will offer the opportunity to bring both artistic skills and a meticulous nature to the table. As the challenge is to create an Australian inspired setting that will enhance the culinary experience offered by your Chef, the decoration should appear at the table where the BBQ and dessert are served.
Once accepted into the competition you must attend the competition briefing with your Chef.

THE PROGRAMME
Monday 22 January Registration opens at 15:00 CETPlease note that you can register online when your yacht signs up to attend the Show.
Successful entries will be emailed to confirm their participation soon after the
yacht’s attendance has been accepted.
Please make sure that you use an email address that you access on a regular basis.
Sunday 26 April Competition Briefing 14:00 (Hospitality Lounge)The exact time that the judges will come on board will be announced at the briefing
Monday 27 April Judging Yachts - largest category*
Tuesday 28 April Judging Yachts - middle category*
Wednesday 29 April Judging Yachts - smaller category*
Thursday 30 April Prize Giving ceremony
*Exact size segments for each category (larger, middle & smaller) will be
established later on, subject to registration demand.
When do the competitions take place?The competitions take place over the first 3 days of the Show.
How many yachts compete in each category?Only 10 yachts are accepted in each of the 3 categories.
How are the participants selected?Acceptance is on a 1st come - 1st served basis, in each of the 3 categories.

Who is eligible?As soon as a yacht signs up to attend the Show, the Chef is automatically eligible to register for the Competition. Table decoration and wine pairing entries will only be accepted if the yacht Chef has already entered the Competition.
