Cambridge County Polo Club Overview

Our Club is based in an idyllic rural setting near Lode, between Cambridge and Newmarket, set in 220 acre polo estate. There are two immaculate full size tournament pitches, laid on peat to protect the ponies legs. The exceptional grounds prompted HRH Prince William to say "I'd rather play here than Guards any day of the week".

Set up in 2008 by Ed Wright, owner and polo player, this friendly club opened its doors in 2018, playing weekend polo tournaments open to businesses for corporate hospitality and to the public for Polo & Picnic Days. Our new Pitchside Bar is a popular hub for both players and visitors. We host many functions including the Business Open Day and offer a fantastic outdoor venue for bespoke corporate events and parties.

The Punt Room is a unique oak framed club house, overlooking well kept lawns bordered by stables, an ideal indoor venue for meetings and entertaining.

In 2019 we launched our premium glossy POLO Magazine which includes articles on the club, players, teams, and features on our sponsors. The magazine is distributed throughout Cambridge and beyond, and offers an opportunity for advertising and advertorial.

2020 sees the launch of Cambridge County Polo Club as a wedding reception location with a difference, with events for up to 1000 guests held in a high spec marquee overlooking our pristine pitches.

Typical Polo Tournament Day

Tournaments are played over two weekend days, Saturday and Sunday, between May and September. The first match starts at 11am, usually there will be four matches per day, with the games finishing around 4.30pm. Tournaments are open to the public who buy tickets for our popular Polo & Picnic Days which offer parking pitchside. Attendance times are relaxed with guests able to arrive and leave at their discretion. Our open topped “Chukka Bus” is the main focal point on tournament days, it is the game scoreboard, a fun upper deck viewing platform for guests, and where the commentary takes place. After each tournament there is a prize giving ceremony for the winning teams and player of the day. There are various events of interest during the year such as the Rolls Royce owners club’s annual meet and the new Wedding Show. Player and pony safety are paramount during polo tournaments, so on rare occasions tournament days may be cancelled if it is deemed unsafe for play.

Cambridge County Polo Club ~ Business Open Day

Supported by Iliffe Media & the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce this very popular business networking event takes place on a weekday and we invite the local business community to join us for a free day of polo. For businesses wishing to exhibit at the event we offer stand space to set up gazebos down the side of the polo pitch, to promote their business and network in a relaxed atmosphere.

Tournament Day and Venue Catering

Catering on the day is very flexible, you can choose to use the options offered by our partners, from picnics, buffet lunches and grazing tables, to a waitress served formal lunch. Alternatively you can engage your own caterers for the event, or bring in your own food and drink. Our new popular Pitchside Bar serves bubbly, beer, soft drinks, teas and coffees.

We have ambitious plans for the 2020 season at Cambridge County Polo Club and we would like to further develop our partnership opportunities. We offer a unique environment for entertaining and promoting your business at our Polo tournaments. Club Sponsor

As the official Club Sponsor you have an excellent opportunity to forge a strong link with the prestigious sport of Polo throughout the season, and become genuinely involved with our friendly and hospitable club.

Club Sponsor Brand Exposure: For the 2020 season the club will be promoted as Cambridge County Polo Club Sponsored by ‘Your Company Name’ (or similar if agreed by CCPC)

You will have your own named tournament with a prize trophy, which you will present to the tournament winners at a weekend of your choice

Additionally a choice of two of below options or similar events:

1 x Use of a private pitch side marquee to entertain up to 40 guests on any of our Tournament Days ( not including drinks or catering )

1 x Exclusive Polo Evenings during the season for 40 guests in a private marquee including your own private polo match ( not including drinks or catering )

1 x Exclusive Evenings use of the prestigious Punt Room at the Club House to entertain up to 50 guests ( not including drinks or catering )

1 x Summer Party with private pitch side marquee for up to 80 guests including your own private polo match ( not including drinks or catering )

Club Sponsorship: £25,000 + VAT per season

With a choice of one of the two main tournament grounds as Ground Sponsor you have great opportunity for high visibility branding around the ground, and become involved with our friendly club on a regular basis.

Team Sponsor

As Team Sponsor you have the opportunity to choose between one of three club teams and get closely involved in supporting our enthusiastic team players. There are 20 tournaments played each season between a variety of teams.

Tournament Sponsor Brand Exposure: The tournament will be known as ‘Your Company Name’ Tournament (or similar if agreed by CCPC)

You will have the sole use of a pitch side marquee to entertain up to 40 guests on any of our weekend tournament days.

Marquee Daily Hire: £1500 + VAT per day

Cambridge County Polo Club Hospitality Polo Pod Daily Hire

Use of one of our private hospitality pods to entertain up to 10 guests in style on any one of our tournament days ( not including drinks or catering )

Polo Pod Daily Hire: £250 + VAT per day

Cambridge County Polo Club Advertising

Polo Pitch Boards Advertising Solid wooden pitch boards mark the edge of the polo pitch and keep the ball in play. Printed advertising boards are attached to these and offer highly visible marketing along the edge of the pitch, easily seen by all visitors.

10 x Advertising boards 20 cms high x 180 cms wide £550 + VAT per season per 10 boards (excluding printing costs)

For other boards of different sizes around the ground, for example by the Chukka bus or Pitchside bar : Prices available on request

Polo Magazine Advertising Advertise in our free glossy 2020 POLO magazine, produced by award winning Iliffe Media, to promote your company to our patrons, members, visitors and many other recipients. Full, 1/2 or 1/4 page space available 2020 Rate Card Available on request

Business Open Day: Friday 19th June 2020 Networking and advertising opportunities at this popular business event with a full Polo Tournament with free entry to visitors. Exhibition space to set up 3m x3m gazebo, tables, banners and literature Exhibition Space £150 + VAT for 3m x 3m space * Note no power available. This is an outdoor event and subject to the weather

conditions on the day. Polo will not be played if conditions are unsafe.
