Day 5: Mon, Dec 30 – SOKCHO. Visit Seorak Moutain National Park. Enjoy a cable car ride to Gwongeumseng Castle and Shinhung Temple. Next head over to the main fish market located at Daepo Port. There is an overwhelming selection of places to eat. Sokcho Jungang Market offers traditional, agricultural and marine products at very reasonable prices. Coffee shops and food stalls also abound. Both locals and tourists do not mind the long lines to grab a bite of Sokcho street delicacies such as squid mandu, fried chicken, and hotteok. (B, L, D)

Day 6: Tue, Dec 31 – SOKCHO – BUKCHON – SEOUL. We start the day with a visit to Bukchon Hanok Village, a residential area in Seoul with countless hanoks (traditional Korean houses). Next make a stop at the Bukchon Traditional Crafts Center where you will make your very own wooden mask. Back in Seoul, it’s once again time for SHOPPING! LOTTE DEPARTMENT STORE followed by the famous Namdaemun Market. Opened in 1964, it is the largest traditional market in Korea with over 10,000 retailers, vendors and wholesalers. The market, which is spread out over several blocks, has the largest collection of interesting and traditional Korean items for sale in one place. It has been said: if it is sold in Korea, or anywhere else in the world, then you will most likely find it at one of the many stalls here. Relax over dinner before transferring to your hotel. From 11:00 pm until 12:30 am, witness THE NEW YEAR’S EVE – BOSINGAK WATCH-NIGHT BELL CEREMONY! Happy New Year!! LOTTE CITY HOTELS MYEONGDONG (2 Nights) (B, L, D)

Day 7: Wed, Jan 01 – SEOUL. After breakfast, the morning will be spent at Myogaksa Temple. Start with a brief introduction of your Temple Experience, which will consist of Temple Tour and short meditation, Buddhist Monk’s meal and a Tea Ceremony. Later visit Dongmyo Flea Market. (B, L, D)

Day 8: Thur, Jan 02 – SEOUL – HONOLULU. Morning and Afternoon at your leisure today. One last chance for SHOPPING! Depart Seoul via Hawaiian Airlines flt #460 at 10:00 pm and arrive Honolulu at 11:10 am the same day. Aloha and Welcome Home! (B, L)

2020 NEW YEAR IN KOREA DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

Day 1: Thur, Dec 26 – HONOLULU. Depart Honolulu via Hawaiian Airlines flt #459 at 1:30 pm.

Day 2: Fri, Dec 27 – SEOUL. Arrive Incheon, South Korea at 8:00 pm. After entry formalities, transfer to your hotel in Seoul. Enjoy a bento for dinner. LOTTE CITY HOTEL MYEONGDONG (2 Nights) (D)

Day 3: Sat, Dec 28 – SEOUL. After breakfast at your hotel, start the day with a drive by Blue House, the executive office and official residence of the president of the Republic of Korea. Blue House literally means “pavilion of blue tiles,” which the house is known for. Then explore Gyeongbok Palace and National Folk Museum. Gyeongbok Palace was the main royal palace of the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1910). Located within the grounds of Gyeongbok Palace National Folk Museum uses replicas of historic objects to illustrate the history of the Korean people. After lunch, it’s time for SHOPPING! The traditional culture of Korea is represented in Insadong Antique Street. Stores in Insadong specialize in a wide variety of goods including ceramics, earthenware, calligraphy materials, antique furniture, hanbok (traditional clothing), hanji (traditional paper), traditional teas, souvenirs, cute accessories, and folk crafts. Dongdaemun Market is Korea’s largest wholesale and retail shopping district – where a wide variety of goods can be found at a reasonable price – and it’s open 24 hours a day! Next we visit Cheonggye Plaza, the venue of “Seoul Christmas Festival.” This winter at Cheonggye stream, glowing lights in the following 5 themed areas will welcome the visitors: “Dream Show Zone” – application of modern technologies on the classic European gothic details; ”Joy Zone” – replicated special effects of fireworks; ”Santa Zone” – with themes related to Santa Claus and gifts; “Blessing Zone” – inspired by the birth of baby Jesus and the three wise men; and “Happy Zone” – demonstrating Korean traditional style gates and heart-shaped props. (B, L, D)

Day 4: Sun, Dec 29 – SEOUL – CHUNCHEON – SOKCHO.
