Castaways offers state of the art amenities and activities to keep you active all week long. Enjoy the water view from our private beach - it’s even better with a refreshing drink from the Jackspot Tiki Bar. Relax at the pier while you try crabbing, clamming, and fishing or, for our adventurous guests, the Eastern Shore scenery can be taken in via kayak, canoe, stand up paddle board, or jet ski. Kids can spend the day frolicking on the splash pad or in the pool while the adults unwind next door in the hot tub. Even our canine guests have a great time in our off-leash dog park, private dog beach, and wash station. Once you’re here, there’s no need to leave. Join us for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the

Bay Breeze Café. Grab a cappuccino or hand-dipped ice cream from The Sweet Spot. Stop by the Camp Store for souvenirs and supplies. And be sure to take advantage of our complimentary shuttle to Ocean City and Assateague Island during peak summer. We’ll even drop you off at Frontier Town, where our registered guests receive special discounts to their Water Park, Western Theme Park, High Ropes Adventure Park, and Mini-Golf Course.

Welcome Rules & Regulations

Check-In: 2:00 PM for RV/tent sites & 3:00 PM for cottages.

Check-Out: 11:30 AM for RV/tent sites & 11:00 AM for cottages. Club Castaways Guests - please return your key cards to the office before you leave! Any key not returned at check-out will be subject to a $30 charge.

Respect Your Neighbor: Do not cut through sites and please keep your possessions on your site.

Quiet Time: Our quiet time is from 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM daily but please be courteous to the guests around you during all hours of the day.

Guests/Visitors: Campers are responsible for their guest/visitors. They must register at the office and pay the guest/visitor fee, which is $12 for adults age 18 and over, and $8 for children age 11-17.

Maximum Occupancy: Maryland and county regulations allow no more than 6 persons per RV/tent site or cottage.

Pets: All pets must wear a current valid license. Proof of rabies vaccination must be on your persons during your stay. There is a limit of 3 pets per site. Owners must clean up after their pets. All pets must be leashed at all times. Pets must not be left outside unattended.

Speed Limit: The speed limit is 30mph on Eagles Nest Road and 5mph on all resort roads.

Vehicles: One vehicle is included in the site fee. One extra vehicle may be parked on your site for an additional $5 per day. All vehicles must have a valid state license plate & a parking pass from the Welcome Center upon check-in. No beach parking is allowed, except for golf carts. Towing is enforced. All motorized vehicles must have proof of insurance to be permitted on the property. Failure to provide proof of proper insurance will result in the prohibiting of use on Castaways property. All ATV/UTV and other large terrain vehicles are prohibited. The only 4 wheeled vehicles permitted in our park

are your car, truck, or adequately insured golf cart. All personal golf carts must be insured for coverage while on our site. All personal golf carts must obey park speed limits and rules, or it will be banned. No exceptions.

Golf Cart Operators: Maryland law requires all motor vehicles, including golf carts, to be operated by a licensed driver. Proof of insurance coverage while at Castaways is required for all personal golf carts. Personal golf carts must be insured to $50,000.

Trailers: After launching your water craft, the trailer must be returned to your site immediately. No exceptions.

Bikes: Maryland law requires that all persons operating a bicycle under age 16 must wear a helmet while biking. All bikes must be parked by dusk. None are allowed after dark.

Campfires: Maryland law requires campfires be attended at all times. Occasionally there is a state ban of fires. We will post and/or notify you at check-in should that occur.

Fire Rings & Picnic Tables: One of each is provided to marked sites. Please do not place trash, bottles, or cans in fire rings!

Sewer Hook-Up: Maryland law requires all sewer hoses to be undamaged and sewer connections be tight. Replacement sewer hoses and sewer doughnuts can be purchased at our Camp Store.

Trash Or Overflow: Between 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM, trash may be placed in front of your campsite to be collected by our staff at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Outside of those times please place trash in any of the dumpsters located on the resort.

Recyclables: Throughout our park you will see blue containers for aluminum cans - please recycle your cans here to support the Worcester County Humane Society.

Fireworks: Maryland and county law both prohibit the

use of fireworks at any time. Castaways has also banned the use of sparklers.

Drones: Due to our proximity to the local airport and Castaways regulations, drones are not permitted to be used on property.

Smoking: All buildings including bathhouses, both pool areas, and the beach are smoke free.

After Office Hours: Please call (443) 235-8697 for assistance should you have any problems resulting in need of a Resort Host.

Emergency: Dial 911! Our address is 12550 Eagles Nest Road, Berlin, MD, then state your site number.

Closing Day: Closing Day 2020 will be Sunday, November 1. We ask that all campers exit the grounds by 1:00 PM.

Disclaimer & Photo Consent: By accepting this reservation, Guest hereby waives, releases and discharges and covenants not to sue Sun Communities for all claims and liability for personal injury, accidents, property damage, any other claim arising out of or in connection with Guests’ use of the Rental/Property. Further, Guest agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Sun Communities from all losses, claims, expenses and demands, including attorneys’ fees, that Sun Communities may incur arising out of or in connection with Guests’ use of the Rental/Property. Guest further agrees to be responsible and liable for the actions and safety of every person in their group. August 10-16: Wacky Water Wars WeekAhoy! Whether you’re relaxing at the beach, wading in the bay, taking a dip at one of the pools, or playing on the splash pad, Castaways is the place to beat the heat with fun-filled water activities!

August 17-23: Color Wars WeekAre you ready for a color war? Be sure to bring a change of clothes – we’ll have messy Twister, tie-dye, and more! We will also be hosting our 2nd Annual Fundraising Color Walk/Run for a Cure! Be prepared for a week full of colors, messes, and fun for all!

August 24-30: Kids Get Even Messfest WeekParents, beware! Castaways Court is in session this week. Your kids are ratting you out and when the RV Rangers arrest you, the court will decide your fate. It won’t be pretty, but there is a chance for payback! This is a great time for family pictures! Don’t worry, we will have enough slime for all the messy activities we have scheduled!

September 24-27: 9th Annual Bluegrass By The Bay Weekend - This weekend is all about Bluegrass music! Buy a ticket, bring a chair or blanket, and sit back and relax for 3 days of picking fun. AIRBRUSH TATTOOSOur funky Airbrush Tattoos are sure to put a smile on the kids’ faces and remind them how much they loved their vacation at Castaways! Sizes range from small to large. Dates, times, and locations to have these applied will be posted on our activities schedules. The tattoos must be purchased prior to application.

BATHHOUSES & LAUNDRY FACILITIESBathhouses are located conveniently throughout the resort. All facilities are open 24 hours and offer showers and restrooms. The bathhouse located in Club Castaways is for private guests staying in the Club Castaways area. There are laundry facilities at each bathhouse and the Camp Store building. All machines require a credit card.

BAY BREEZE CAFÉ Bay Breeze Café, located inside the Camp Store, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner 7 days a week during peak season. Free delivery is available to all sites, as well as the beach and pools!

CAMP STORE The Camp Store is open daily during peak season for firewood, hygiene products, recreational items, souvenirs, beer, wine, apparel, and more! Have our photographers snap a family photo and transfer it to a telescope viewer or keychain.

CASTAWAYS ARCADEThe Castaways Arcade, located near the Welcome Center, plays host to an assortment of arcade games and prize games. Come on in and challenge your friends to a race or play to win one of several great prizes.

BARK BEACHLet your furry, four-legged family members run free and frolic in the bay! The off-leash Bark Beach is located waterfront across from the Pavilion. All pets must be accompanied by their owners at all times. Please keep the area nice, and clean up after your pet. Owners are fully responsible for their pet at all times.

DOGGIE BARK PARKThe gated off-leash Doggie Bark Park is located near the entrance of Club Castaways and is open to all guests. All pets must be accompanied by their owners at all times. Please keep the area nice, and clean up after your pet. Owners are fully responsible for their pet at all times.

DOG WASHING STATIONThe Dog Wash Station is a great way to get your best bud sand-free and smelling sweet before heading back to camp for the night. This great amenity is free of charge and located near the basketball court.

DINING DECKOur two-story Dining Deck is a great place to eat and drink. Relax in the shade on the first level or enjoy the sun and incredible views of Castaways and Assateague Island from the upper deck.

FITNESS CENTERThe Fitness Center is located between the Camp Store and the Sweet Spot, offering state-of-the-art equipment, weights, and exercise balls. Castaways is in no way responsible for any injuries occurring in the Fitness Center, so please use caution while working out. You must be age 18 or over to enter.

GOLF CART RENTALSA convenient, eco-friendly way to get around the resort, all golf carts are electric and seat 4 people. You must be age 16 and have a valid driver’s license to drive (learner’s permits are not accepted). You must be age 18 or over to rent. A $100 deposit is required for advance reservations. Reservations are recommended.

JACKSPOT TIKI BAR & LIVE MUSICJackspot Tiki Bar is located directly on the bay! Come enjoy our world-famous frozen drinks, grab a bite to eat, and meet our friendly team. Live bands play select nights all summer long. You must be age 21 or over to enter. All IDs will be checked. We have the right to refuse service to any persons not able to provide a valid ID.

PAVILION Partially enclosed with retractable doors, heat, and electricity, the Pavilion is the perfect spot for a little shade, crafts, or a bite to eat! It is also the pick-up location for the Shuttle. To reserve for a private event or meeting, please contact our Activities Supervisor.

PLAYGROUNDThe Playground is located across from the Great Lodge and the main swimming pool, and is open from dawn to dusk. An adult must accompany all children under 12 years of age.

SURF’S UP SNACK SHACK You never have to leave the beach! Our convenient full-service beachfront Surf ’s Up Snack Shack offers a delicious menu 7 days a week during peak season.

POOL, SPLASH PAD,HOT TUB & POOLSIDE BARSpend the day splashing away in the Pool or Splash Pad. Adults age 18 or over can relax in the adults-only Hot Tub Spa while enjoying in a refreshing beverage from the Poolside Bar!

THE SWEET SPOTLocated in the Great Lodge next to the Camp Store, The Sweet Spot offers an assortment of fresh coffee and cappuccinos, hot chocolate, rootbeer floats, milkshakes, hand-dipped ice cream, and sweets.

BASKETBALL COURTGrab a group of friends or family and shoot some hoops at the Basketball Court. Equipment is available at The Sweet Spot.

STAY & PLAY ON CHECK-OUT DAY

Not ready to check-out? We understand. We invite you to take advantage of our Stay & Play On Check-Out Day Program. For just $25, you and your family can continue enjoying all of the amenities Castaways has to offer until sundown! If you're in an RV, we will assist in parking your unit in a designated area, then cart you back to the beach. If you were staying in a cottage, we will advise you of a designated area to park after check-out. It’s a great way to stretch your vacation dollars and time!

STORAGE & VALET SERVICE

All the fun and none of the hassle - this is what our Storage & Valet Service is all about. Securely store your unit in our storage area in between stays. It is gated, with easy access in and out of the resort. The cost for storage is $5 per day, $100 per month, or $1,000 for a full year. Make your stay even easier with our Valet Service. Our professional staff will transfer your unit between storage and your site for a low fee of $25 each way. Leveling front to back is complimentary with Valet Service. We do not hook-up to utilities. If you wish to access either, services must be paid for in advance, with at least 48 hour notice given.

SHUTTLE

Want to walk the boardwalk in Ocean City, take in the views of Assateague Island,* or play at Frontier Town’s** amusements? Don't worry about driving. Our complimentary shuttle will whisk you away to whichever destination you desire! The shuttle departs from the pavilion by the playground, with drop-offs at Somerset and Baltimore Avenue in Ocean City, Assateague Island’s day-use area, or Frontier Town's amusement park complex.

*Our shuttle is complimentary, however you must purchase an Assateague Island Visitor’s Pass for entrance to that park. The shuttle driver will collect this fee upon boarding.

**Please bring your camping receipt to take advantage of special discounts to Frontier Town's Water Park, Western Theme Park, High Ropes Adventure Park, and Mini-Golf Course.

HOST YOUR SPECIAL EVENT AT CASTAWAYS!Castaways is the perfect place to fill the needs of your group from start to finish, whether it be a youth group,

birthday party, reunion, wedding, vow renewal, baptism, or an RV/camping association.

Pricing will vary depending on the details that you desire. If you'd like to have an area or amenity reserved privately for your group, we do require a reservation to be made at least 2 weeks prior to the event date. 10 or more sites must be

reserved in order to receive a group discount on your stay. Please contact our Activities Supervisor for details.

Local Attractions Directory

With a historic boardwalk and festivals taking place year-round, Ocean City is a prime vacation destination. You can’t beat 10 miles of beautiful sandy beaches with fresh local dining at every corner, unique shopping, championship golf courses, deep-sea fishing, outdoor recreation, exciting nightlife, and endless family fun.

Assateague Island is famous for their herd of wild ponies that might just pay you a visit on the beach, as well as a myriad of other wildlife such as sika deer and numerous species of waterfowl. Spend the day swimming, surfing, crabbing, clamming, or surf fishing.

Coined the “Coolest Small Town in America”, Berlin is home to an array of farmers markets, antique shops, fashion boutiques, art galleries, delectable restaurants, and nearly 50 charming structures on the National Historic Register.

Dubbed the “Friendliest Town on the Eastern Shore”, Pocomoke is the perfect place to relax on a boat cruise, explore a cypress nature trail, or check out attractions like the Delmarva Discovery Center and historic Mar-Va Theater.

Once a Royal Port of Entry, Snow Hill boasts a rich history. Catch a glimpse of life in pre-colonial days at Furnace Town, or visit Purnell Museum, which houses artifacts from Worcester County.

Salisbury is home to Delmarva Shorebirds baseball, the world famous Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, and Pemberton Historical Park, which features a well-preserved colonial plantation. BOOK YOUR NEXT STAY BEFORE YOU GO!RV & Tent Sites can accommodate 1 main camping unit and up to 6 people. Each site comes with convenient full hookups. We offer a variety of amenities in different locations throughout our resort.*

Select which area is right for you:

Club Castaways is a gated waterfront community with exclusive amenities including a pool, bathhouse, laundry, boat ramp, and fishing pier.

Island Oasis is centrally located and within walking distance to the beach, playground, and Jackspot Tiki Bar. Please note that this area is prone to higher traffic until resort quiet hours.

Marina Deck is centrally located near all of our main amenities, including the splash pad, adult hot tub spa, pool, and poolside bar. This area includes upscale pull-through and back-in RV sites with a paved vehicle pad, fire ring, and picnic table.

Main Deck holds the majority of our RV and tent camping sites. Each includes full hook-ups with 20/30/50 amp service, CATV, Wi-Fi, fire ring, and picnic table.

Paradise Cove offers solitude and privacy. A group fire pit is available by request.

Premium Cottages have 2 bedrooms and sleep up to 6 people. Our wheelchair accessible Premium Cottages are 1 bedroom and sleep up to 4 people. Every unit is pet-friendly and comes equipped with a fully functional kitchen, full bath, furnished living room with full-size sectional sleeper sofa, cookware, dishes, glasses, cooking and eating utensils, coffee maker, toaster oven, cable TV, Wi-Fi, central AC/heat, and are in close proximity to a laundry facility. Every unit comes with a fire ring, picnic table, and stand-up grill. Guests must bring their own linens (bed sheets, pillows, bath towels, washcloths, and kitchen towels). Mattress pads are included.

RV & TENT SITES

RV & Tent Sites: Displayed starting rates are based on 2 adults and 4 children age 10 and under, and 1 vehicle per site. Up to 6 people are allowed per site. Children age 11-17 are $8 per person, per night. Extra adults are $12 per person, per night. All reservations during peak summer and holiday weekends require a 3 night minimum stay; 2 night minimum stay in spring, early summer, and fall. Rates may vary by season, site type, site location, and holidays/special events.

Vacation Rentals: Displayed starting rates are based on a maximum occupancy of 6 people, and 2 vehicles per site. No charges apply to adult/child count. All reservations during peak summer and holiday weekends require a 3 night minimum stay; 2 night minimum stay in spring, early summer, and fall. Rates may vary by season, site type, site location, and holidays/special events. All vacation rentals are subject to 6% Sales Tax and 4.5% County Room Tax.Golf Carts: A convenient, eco-friendly way to get around the resort, all golf carts rentals are electric and seat 4 people. You must be 16 years of age and have a valid driver’s license to drive (learner’s permits are not accepted). You must be 18 years of age or over to rent. Reservations are first-come, first-serve. A $100 deposit is require for advance reservations. Balance must be paid in full at check-in. A $10 processing fee will be retained on any reservation cancellations not made 30 days prior to arrival.
