A NURSES PRAYER 1920

Page 5: d2y1pz2y630308.cloudfront.net · 2020-07-19 · If you are medically compromised, not feeling well, coughing, sneezing or have a low grade fever or higher, you must stay home. The

Dear Parishioners,

Jesus gives us the teaching this weekend about the weeds and the wheat, growing

together in a field. With this image Jesus tells us that in this world the good and the evil

are so intertwined that it is impossible to separate and abolish all the evil. God will do

this separation at the Last Judgement. While we live in the world we need to practice

discernment of spirits, in order to know what comes from God and what comes from the

evil one. In this way we can distance ourselves from evil so that we may have greater

joy and peace.

This field is the human heart as well. That is why we need to stay strong! Keep

moving forward, in hope and peacefully.

You have been staying strong in many ways during this pandemic. Continue to

rely on the Holy Spirit, with your daily rosary, prayer and acts of charity and you will

be kept safe in God’s care. We always say “stay safe” or, “stay well,” We say this

because of the virus; but also let us extend that meaning for our spiritual lives.

Stay well should also mean, “Stay close to Jesus.”.

With Baptism our sins are forgiven, but Jesus has also given us Confession, because

we are always in need of being forgiven for our sins.”

Fr. David
