Welcome to our 2019/2020 Season

What do we love about chamber music? We love the intimacy and immediacy, the democracy of the process, the spontaneous magic that can happen in performance, and the connection between performers and audience. In a small hall like the Wildish, that distinction between the two practically evaporates! The audience can hear us breathe and watch our interactions while we are aware of the gift of your response and that too, becomes part of our shared experience.

As I look back in the Amici archives at the concerts of our past decade, I find myself marveling at the scope and depth of our history together. In 2019/2020 we continue to mix the known and unknown, the comfortable and the challenging in this coming season.

We are excited to welcome several guests, new and returning, to join us in celebrating the start of our second decade in our home, The Wildish Theater. I want to mention that Amici will present an additional concert in March featuring student musicians playing alongside Amici Core and guests--an exciting first and a concert very dear to my heart. Don’t miss this chance to hear these stellar young musicians and see that the future of chamber music is in good hands!

February is the month Amici selects art for the following season. Don’t miss out!

Amici again will select art during February, that will be featured on programs and posters during our 2020/2021 season. Join us at the Emerald Art Center on Friday, February 7, 2020 to celebrate the local art and artists that have been selected as contest finalists. View submissions, vote on your favorite piece and enjoy music by young local musicians.

Outreach Amici is committed to encouraging a new generation of music lovers.

Amici’s outreach program has touched thousands of lives over our first ten seasons and we hope to reach many more over the next ten!

We will continue to travel throughout Eugene and Springfield, and surrounding communities to enchant music lovers of all ages.

2018/2019 by the numbers: 11 Concerts performed. 11 Musicians participated. 16 Schools visited. 30 Outreach services conducted. 1,020 Students reached. 2,118 Patrons engaged.
