We are going through a time like no other, and our families, communities, and nation will face personal and economicchallenges for months to come. Though we wish we had a crystal ball to determine the end of the pandemic, I don’t thinkanyone wants it more than our students, residents and adult day services participants.

That said, Pathfinder Village hasn’t stopped feeling like home, and our staff continues to respond and support our individuals like HEROES. Every support staff on campus has embraced the COVID-19 protocols and has tailored activitiesand routines for each person. Focusing on engagement and education has helped alleviate the anxiety that comes with theunknown. Our staff is showing their strengths in strategic planning and critical thinking as we forge ahead together.

The quality of our staff reflects the support of our donors; 2019 was a record fund- and friend-raising year and we arethankful for your continued generosity. In lieu of our traditional annual report, we have prepared a more-modest 2019Gift Book. We wish to direct more resources and our personal support in helping Pathfinder Village during this time ofgreat need. With that, we are asking all our loyal supporters to consider redirecting their giving in 2020 to the establishment of the Workforce Stabilization Fund.

Due to the national crisis, our Pathfinder businesses will be closed for months. Fundraising events will be postponed or canceled. Many of our services have been suspended, including day services, Otsego Academy, and Camp Pathfinder, consistent with county, state and national trends.

In the meantime, we are committed to retaining and assisting staff members during this disruption, especially our employees who serve on the frontlines. These dedicated workers are the lifeblood of our mission; we must stand by them, as they stand by our individuals every day!

In the coming months, we will send you information about our 2020 Workforce Stabilization Fund. Our other requests are for unrestricted gifts to the Friends of Pathfinder Village fund to assist us through the immediate challenges we face as a community.

Our Splash Path 5k and Fun Walk is an inclusive run and festival that raises funds to benefit Pathfinder programs and services. In 2019, Splash Path proceeds went toward our new Mobile Market van, which is now delivering produce-packed "Feel Good" boxes to friends and neighbors through our area.

Each holiday season, resident families and friends offer thanks to Village employees through generous donations in support of the staff ’s annual holiday luncheon. In turn, the employees have added a fun new element to this festive gathering, auction baskets, through which they raise funds to support a Village program.
