Membership Qualifications

Application Process

Types of Members

The state trademark program promotes and celebrates agricultural experiences and products grown, raised or produced in Kansas. Participating businesses and products can be identifed by the program logo. The program serves Kansas businesses by providing resources and benefits designed to help businesses grow.

Procers/Processors must produce, process or manufacture 100 percent of their products in Kansas. Restaurants must be Kansas owned or serve dishes including multiple Kansas food ingredients. Retailers must sell five or more From the Land of Kansas products. Members of the program must renew their information each year to remain active.

Applications are available online at fromthelandofkansas.com. Your application helps us get to know you and how to support your business. Once your application is approved, you will be able to select benefits from our a la carte menu and pay for them. The next step is providing us with the vital information to complete the benefits you have selected. Benefits are provided on a first come, first served basis, so providing your details quickly ensures your needs are met. It is the responsibility of the member to provide details for fulfillment of benefits. Benefits not used in the calendar year expire and are not refundable.

Staying engaged will help you receive the best experience in the state trademark program. Updates are sent to you in monthly newsletters and shared in a members-only Facebook group. But communication goes both ways. Don’t hesitate to give us a call and introduce yourself! The better we get to know you, the better we can promote your business and match you with opportunities. Keeping up a website is time intensive and costly. Let us keep your most important information available to the public so they can easily find information about you! Your profile includes: business description, business address and map directions, contact information, links to your social media pages, and photos. Your profile is maintained by our staff, and can be updated at any time.

Barcodes or UPCs are a required step toward selling your products in many stores. From the Land of Kansas buys barcodes in bulk and offers them to you at a discounted price of $5 per barcode with an annual maintenance fee of $1. Barcodes can be created for you at any time and paid for upon creation.

The From the Land of Kansas Members Facebook group allows you to connect with members across the state, network, ask questions, share success stories, and keep up to date with opportunities available through From the Land of Kansas and the Kansas Department of Agriculture.

We love sharing your story with Kansans who love to shop local. We create posts that feature you, your events, and great reasons and ways to shop local with our followers.

Please select this benefit option if you are part of the Homegrown by Heroes program to have the Homegrown by Heroes logo called out on your From the Land of Kansas profile and let us know to include you in veteran-associated events and opportunities.

From the Land of Kansas Merchandise 50% DiscountThe From the Land of Kansas program purchases merchandise branded with the From the Land of Kansas logo to increase brand awareness and encourage consumer investment in the brand. You can purchase this merchandise for half price for personal use or for resale.

Food Export ProgramFood Export supports U.S. suppliers of food and agriculture products by providing exporter education, market entry opportunities to meet qualified buyers, research markets, and even ways to save money on international marketing efforts. Recognizing that there is great potential to access foreign buyers at large tradeshows which happen inside the United States, the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service has authorized certain U.S.-based shows as “eligible for reimbursement.” Exhibitors may be eligible for 50% reimbursement of costs incurred to exhibit at these eligible shows.

Pop-up stores occur at events across the state throughout the year. These pop-ups are staffed by From the Land of Kansas staff to sell your product to attendees at conferences and events. Profits are deposited directly into your bank account through the e-commerce website. Delivery of product to the event or to the Kansas Department of Agriculture is required as well as being a vendor on the e-commerce platform. This guarantees inclusion in at least two pop-up stores.

Taste of Kansas Ag Experience Dinner........................................................................................................$250

The From the Land of Kansas dinner will be in the summer/fall of 2019. The location is TBD in southeast Kansas. Ensure your product is used in the meal by reserving your spot now. Event will only accept one product per product type category (i.e., we will only be able to utilize one business to supply tomatoes, etc.) This benefit includes a ticket to the event to interact with attendees and share with them about your product. Any cancellations must be made 60 days prior to event for a 50% refund.

Reserve one of 10 spots in the From the Land of Kansas booth at the Kansas State Fair. Staff will stock and sell your products. Members will be required to make arrangements to deliver products to the fair and pick up leftover merchandise, as well as attend the fair to sample your products for one day. Any cancellations must be made 60 days prior to the fair for a 50% refund.

KAKE with Chef Alli......................................................................................................................................$250

Chef Alli’s monthly segment on KAKE news out of Wichita airs on the 6th of each month. On her segment, she prepares a dish featuring your product and shares with the public about what you do. Presence is required for taping of the segment in Wichita. Utilize the recipe, Facebook video, and YouTube video segment for your own promotions any time! Any cancellations must be made 60 days prior to event for a 50% refund.

As our society becomes more tech savvy and mobile friendly, many customers just aren’t stepping into brick and mortar stores when they can shop with the click of a button from their phone. Selling on our website opens the door to more opportunities such as pop-up shops and allows us to help shoppers easily find your products.

On our platform, you can list unlimited products and run coupons and sales whenever you choose. Receive an email when an order comes in and ship your product to the enclosed address.
