NOTE: 17 year old athletes (born in 2001) may compete in a Junior and/or Senior competition. Parental authorization and a medical certificate are required. Athletes 40 years of age and above (born in 1978 or earlier) must provide a medical certificate.

REGISTRATION

All athlete and support staff (coaches, team leaders, medical, officials) registrations and payments, where applicable, must be made online through www.trackiereg.com/WCL2019jrsr. Registration will open January 21st, 2019 Members will only be able to register once the province has submitted their membership list.

Other requirements for participation will also be found on Trackie.reg under the tournament information.

The registration deadline is March 1st, 2018 at 11:59 pm ET. Late registrations will be accepted until March 8th, 2019 at 11:59 pm ET, but will be subject to a late fee as outlined in the “Entry Fees” section below. No registrations will be accepted after March 8th, 2019 at 11:59 pm ET. This applies to all athletes, coaches and support staff.

All athletes and support staff must be registered members of their PTSO and be members in good standing with the PTSO and WCL as of the time of weigh-in for the event. Please check with your PTSO to determine if they have any additional registration requirements. Officials must be registered members in good standing with the Canadian Association of Wrestling Officials (CAWO) and their Provincial Wrestling Officials Association (if applicable).

COACHES

To receive a coach accreditation (eligible to coach during the event), coaches must have the following MINIMUM elements recorded in their NCCP transcripts, NO LATER than March 8th, 2019:

1 – Make Ethical Decisions Evaluation 2 – Competition Development (Performance Coach) CERTIFIED status

SCREENING (POLICE CHECKS)

As part of WCL’s commitment to Safe Sport, all support staff (coaches, team managers, team medical, officials) will be required to provide proof of screening NO LATER than March 8th, 2019, to receive accreditation. Acceptable screening includes:

1 – Vulnerable Sector Check for Minors* (VSC) issued no earlier than Sept 01, 2018. A hard copy must be provided to the National Office.

OR

2 – Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC) issued no earlier than Sept 01, 2018. Please be sure to share your results with Wrestling Canada Lutte. More information to follow in January.

*Please note that if a VSC is not provided in 2019, all support staff (coaches, team managers, team medical, officials) will be required to provide a VSC for Minors, starting 2020.

ENTRY FEES

Payment of entry fees will be done online through the Trackie registration portal.

JUNIOR $135.00 – Men’s Freestyle, Women, Greco-Roman (one event) $175.00 – Men’s Freestyle plus Greco-Roman (two events) $310.00 – Men’s Junior & Senior Freestyle plus Greco Roman (three events)

SENIOR $135.00 – Men’s Freestyle, Women, Greco-Roman (one event) $175.00 – Men’s Freestyle plus Greco-Roman (two events)

All entries received after March 1st, 2019 will be subject to a $35 late fee per event entered.

No registrations will be accepted after March 8th, 2019 at 11:59 pm ET.

SCRATCHES ▪ All scratches before March 1st, 2019 (11:59 pm ET) will be fully refundable. ▪ All scratches after March 1st, 2019 (11:59 pm ET) & prior to March 8th, 2019 (11:59 pm ET)

will be 75% refundable. ▪ All scratches after March 8th, 2019 (11:59 pm ET) are NON-REFUNDABLE. Please check

with your PTSO to determine if any additional fees apply.

RULES

▪ Wrestling Canada Lutte 2018-2019 rules will apply with a modified double elimination bracket system. Competitors must be members in good standing with their PTSO and Wrestling Canada Lutte.

▪ Competition is closed. Only Canadian citizens and those individuals with Permanent Resident status will be permitted to register. Legal proof of age and citizenship status must be provided when registering online and at weigh-ins.

PRACTICE TIMES

All practice times must be booked. To book practice times please e-mail Daniel Olver [email protected] no later than March 11th at 16:00. There will be an hour cap per team up to March 8th, 2019. After that we will open up the rest of the times.

Mat availability: Wednesday March 20th – 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday March 21th – 10:00 am to 8:00 pm Hours will be reduced if time is not booked by March 11th, 2019

During the championship, those wishing to practice will be able to use the warm up area at the venue during down times.

MEDICAL & DOPING CONTROL

A physician will be in attendance and athletic therapists will be on site. Athletes requiring preventative therapy will require their own supplies.
