Team and Coaches Quick Reference Guide

1. Bus parking is located in front of fields four and six (Stelly Field) on the west side of the main stadium.

2. Check-in with team host and game administrators two and a half hours before game start time.

3. Batting practice will begin two hours prior to game start time (practice fields four and six (Stelly Field)). Please bring baseballs for batting practice.

4. Please have a copy of your lineup card on-hand when you arrive at the park or as soon as possible (needed for media at least an hour and a half before the game).

5. Teams will enter the stadium through the rolling gate under the con-course (next to Stelli Field).

6. Coolers are prohibited. Team coolers will be provided on both the practice and game fields.

7. Please remind your fans only cash will be accepted for parking. 8. Cash and credit/debit cards can be used to purchase tickets at the

gate. 9. Please familiarize yourself with the online coaches’ video and manu-

al. 10. Please adhere to CenturyLink Sports Complex’s rules and regula-

CenturyLink Sports Complex– Rules and Regulations

1. No person shall be allowed to walk or sit on top of the dugouts 2. Phones located throughout the stadium are for official game usage only 3. Hitting or throwing baseballs into netting or padding is prohibited 4. Jumping over sidewalls is prohibited 5. Only uniformed player personnel are allowed on the playing surface 6. Batgirls and batboys must wear helmets 7. Warm-up throwing shall take place in the outfield only (not on or around the infield) 8. Pepper games are prohibited 9. Throwing on apron (in front of dugouts) around infield is prohibited 10. Infield and outfield practice prior to the game shall not exceed the allotted time (practice

fields 4 and 6 (Stelly Field)) 11. Do not pour ice/beverages on field turf

General Rules and Regulations– During the Game

1. Refrain from behavior that may injure persons, equipment, and/or damage the facility 2. Notify a groundskeeper and/or tournament committee representative if a problem on the

field occurs 3. Notify a tournament committee representative if a problem within the stadium occurs 4. Please return foul balls to the dugout coordinator

General Rules and Regulations– After the Game

1. All fans are prohibited from entering the playing surface 2. Please make coaches and/or designated players available for the press. A tournament com-

mittee member will escort him/her to the interview location. 3. Return all game balls to the field administrator

Ground Rules– Hammond Stadium

1. A ball lodged in the back stop padding results in a dead ball. 2. A ball lodged in the outfield wall padding results in a ground rule double. 3. A ball caught with both feet outside of the dugout or along the short fences on the first or

third base line is in play. If a player’s momentum carries him into the dugout or over the short fences on the first or third base line after the catch has been made will be recorded as an out and the ball is dead. The base runner is automatically awarded one extra base.

4. A player may lean on the tarp to make a catch, but may not step or jump onto the tarp. 5. A fair ball lodged in the fencing in outfield foul territory of first or third base results in a

ground rule double. 6. Any signage extending over the top of the outfield wall is recessed behind the wall and

therefore not in play. 7. In order to be declared a home run, from the left field foul pole to the left center field pole, a

ball must clear the 6’ padded wall plus the 2’ padded fencing above the wall. 8. In order to be declared a home run, from the left center field pole to the right field foul pole,

a ball must clear the 8’ padded wall. This includes balls hit off of the front of the boardwalk deck above the top of the fence and the narrow concrete wall on the far right hand side of the left field lawn seating section.

Rules and Regulations CenturyLink Sports Complex– Hammond Stadium

1. The fields are irrigated with treated effluent (well water). Please do not drink the water.

2. The drinking water for players will be located in the dugouts of practice and stadium fields. Coolers are prohibited.

3. Please be aware of flying objects leaving the field of play from any of the practice fields.

4. Please observe “Field Closed” signs. The closure of fields is due to occasional field repair, wet grounds, field preparations, irrigation purposes, etc.

5. Please assist in keeping the park clean by picking-up any paper, trash, and oth-er debris.

6. Please do not warm-up or throw on grass in front of pitching mounds or dugouts.

7. Please respect the infield playing surface. Please perform all warm-ups in the outfield.

8. Please do not hit baseballs into the fencing. 9. Please respect the baseball equipment. 10. Please keep the restrooms clean. 11. Please do not jump over the fences. 12. Please do not pour ice/beverages on the turf. 13. The batting cages are only available at the direction of tournament personnel. 14. Please report any violation of these rules to a member of the tournament staff. 15. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your team host. 16. Please do not sit or stand on top of the dugouts. Please respect the facility. The stadium superintendent maintains the playing sur-faces at a professional level. Any abuse to the facility will not be tolerated. Please

help us keep these facilities first class.

General Information 1. Ticket Prices

• Tickets can now be purchased online at https://gofan.co/app/school/FHSAA/Baseball for $9 (age 2 and under are free). Individuals who purchase tickets at the gate will be charged $12 (age 2 and under are free). Cash and credit/debit cards can be used to purchase tickets at the gate.

• General Admission (Gate 2): All individuals entering the stadium must have a ticket regardless of age in order to occupy a seat. There will be no reserved seating. Each ticket can only be used for the day purchased as designated by FHSAA.

• There are scout passes available upon request (pending FHSAA approval). 2. Ticket Procurement

• Individuals may purchase tickets on site at the ticket office window one hour before the first game and up to two hours after the start of the final game.

• Only FHSAA State Series/Lifetime issued passes, members of the press, VIP, team hosts, and authorized workers may enter through the gate to the right of Gate 1 (he/she must provide the appropriate credentials).

3. Parking • General parking is located in front of the stadium. The cost for parking is $10 (motorcycles and

cars). • Booster/Fan (non-team) Buses: The parking fee is $50 for busses and $30 for recreational vehi-

cles. • Team Bus Parking: The team drop off and parking area is located in between fields 4 and 6. • Press Parking: There is no charge for press parking (must provide valid FHSAA credentials). • Tournament Committee VIP Parking Pass: The passes will be issued. • Volunteer Workers Parking: There is no charge for volunteer parking (must provide appropriate

event staff credentials). • Parking at South Fort Myers High Schools is prohibited.

4. Admission to Game/Seating • All spectators will enter through Gate 2. • An accessible ADA entrance will be through Gate 3. • All tickets are considered general admission and spectators can choose where they’d like to sit. • All teams and coaches will enter the through the rolling gate next to Stelli Field. • Only FHSAA State Series/FHSAA Lifetime Passes will be honored at the state tournament at

the pass gate only. Pass holders will enter through the gate to the right of Gate 1 . • All FHSAA credential holders and event staff will enter through the gate to the right of Gate 1.

5. Media • All media will enter through the gate to the right of Gate 1.

6. Admission and Conduct Standards • No one is allowed on the playing field without proper credentials. • Umbrellas and strollers are prohibited at the stadium. • All outside food and drinks are prohibited. • Alcoholic beverages are prohibited at the stadium. The gate attendants are aware of the ban on

alcoholic beverages and will use their discretion as to the entry of any individual. All carry-in food/food containers (bottles, cans, ice bags, ice chests, etc.) are prohibited. Bags or purses larg-er than 16” x 16” x 8” are prohibited. All bags and containers are subject to inspection.

• All noisemakers (cowbells, horns, musical instruments/equipment, radios, stereos, etc.) are pro-hibited.

• Professional camera equipment and tripods are prohibited. • Hand-held banners are permitted, however the must not obstruct the vision of other spectators. • The stadium has a strict “no re-entry” policy. • Team t-shirts made with the intentions of distribution are prohibited.

Facility and Game Operations

1. Rules • The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) will govern the

operations of all championship games. All National Federation rules will apply.

2. Playing Field • The CenturyLink Sports Complex superintendent will be responsible for

the playing field. All coaches will be provided a copy of the Centu-ryLink Sports Complex rules and regulations.

3. Electric Support Systems • The stadium scoreboard will be used for each game. • All public address announcements must be approved by the FHSAA, the

tournament committee, and the Minnesota Twins. 4. Locker Rooms

• There are offsite locker rooms available upon request. 5. Field Access

• All credentials must be issued by the tournament committee and/or FHSAA.

• Any individuals in the dugouts during the game must be in uniform and recognized as a game staff member for the participating team. Each team is limited to 20 uniform players and a maximum of eight coaches, athletes, trainers, etc. All batboys/batgirls must wear helmets with earflaps.

• All photographers and their equipment shall not obstruct the view of the game of spectators. A photographer is permitted next to each dugout (on field level) with the proper credentials.

• Any individuals who have issues with field passes or policies on game day/during the game should contact the tournament director, a tourna-ment committee member, and/or the host assigned to each team.

6. Officials • The selection and assignment of officials is the responsibility of the

FHSAA. • All officials will dress in the “Auxiliary Coaching Staff” room (located

through the first base dugout). • All officials will enter through the gate to the right of Gate 1. • An official scorekeeper will be provided by the CenturyLink Sports

Complex/Lee County Parks and Recreation.

Security

Fort Myers Miracle and Lee County Parks and Recreation will provide security for the tournament.

Duties:

• Enforce all stadium spectator rules and regulations • Enforce all FHSAA spectator rules and regulations • Provide security presence in parking lots • Provide escort of receipts when requested by staff • Secure press box security for VIP passes only • Manage pass gate (only press, employee, and VIP passes are permitted) • Provide security access in and near the Minnesota Twins clubhouse and

complex field area • Date limited access and guest passes at the pass gate • Ensure any unauthorized merchandise is not admitted into the venue

Medical 1. First Aid

• The first aid room for spectators is on the second level across from the team store . The stadium staff is trained in first aid. A request for first aid assistance may be made thorough your tournament host or any tournament committee member.

2. Trainers

• A certified athletic trainer will be on duty at all times during the tournament. He or she will be located on the field or in the training room.

3. A.E.D.

• An A.E.D. will be located near the field for each game.

Severe Weather Policy

Participants and spectators using any facilities that are equipped with the early lightning alert/detection systems must adhere to the

following procedures:

• When lightning is detected within a 10 mile radius, an announcement will be made over the public address system requesting everyone stop all activities immediately and seek safe shelter.

• If at any time the lightning detection system appears to be malfunc-tioning, all teams must follow the National Weather Service 30/30 lightning rule.

• An announcement will be made over the public address system once the lighting has cleared the area.

FHSAA Baseball State Finals: Game Administrator Cheat Sheet

1. Arrive two and a half hours prior to game start time 2. Oversee the normal operations of game activities 3. Communicate with FHSAA regarding any questions or concerns 4.
