The International Double Reed Society is pleased to announce the 39th annual performance competition being held for oboists during the 2019 IDRS Conference. The competition is dedicated to the memory of the late master oboist and honorary member of IDRS, Fernand Gillet, and to the memory of master bassoonist Hugo Fox, principal bassoonist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra from 1922-1949.

First prize for the 2019 competition is a $12,000 USD cash award. Second prize is an $8,000 USD cash award. Other finalists will receive a $3,000 USD cash award.

1. EligibilityOboists who have not reached their 31st birthday by the date of the final stage are eligible to enter, but no previous first prizewinner of the Fernand Gillet-Hugo Fox Competition is eligible to participate. All entrants must be current members of IDRS.

2. Levels of CompetitonPreliminary Stage—All entrants must submit an online application and an application fee of $80 USD payable by credit card (VISA and MasterCard only). Competition entries will be accepted starting on January 5, 2019 through an online application process. All entrants must electronically submit a video recording of the entire Preliminary Stage repertoire list below, performed with piano accompaniment where applicable. Instructions on applying and uploading video recordings will be available starting on January 5, 2019 at: https://idrs.org/competitions/

Final Stage—Up to five finalists will be selected by the competition committee with the results announced by May 1, 2019. The final round will be heard by a distinguished panel of judges in an open concert, at the International Double Reed Society Conference at The University of South Florida in Tampa, FL, USA, July 14-18, 2019. Repertoire for the final round will be the same as that for the Preliminary Stage with the addition of the entire Concerto in C Major, RV 447 by Antonio Vivaldi (Kunzelmann). The judges will select portions of each of the four pieces listed in this announcement for use in the final stage of the competition. A professional accompanist will be provided for the contestants; however, contestants may elect to use an accompanist of their own choosing at their own expense. The decision of the judges is final. The judges may elect to award fewer prizes than outlined above or no prizes. IDRS will provide meals and lodging for each of the finalists for the duration of the Conference. The winner of the competition will agree to perform the entire Concerto in C Major, RV 447 by Antonio Vivaldi on a concert during the 2019 IDRS Conference.

Épreuve Finale—Le Jury annoncera le 1er mai 2019 au plus tard les noms des cinq candidats sélectionnés pour l’épreuve finale. Les finalistes s’engagent alors à participer au concours final qui aura lieu en présence d’un Jury lors d’un concert public pendant le Congrès de l’IDRS à l’Université du Sud de la Floride à Tampa du 14 au 18 Juillet 2019. Le programme imposé pour l’épreuve finale sera identique au programme présenté à l’épreuve préliminaire, avec en plus le Concerto en Ré majeur, RV 447 d’Antonio Vivaldi (Kunzelmann) au complet. Les juges choisiront des extraits de chacune des quatre oeuvres énumérées ci-dessus pour les besoins du concours. Un accompagnateur est à la disposition des candidats; toutefois s’ils le souhaitent, les candidats peuvent amener à leurs frais leur accompagnateur habituel. La décision du Jury est sans appel. Le Jury se réserve le droit de ne pas remettre tous les prix décrits ci-dessus. L’IDRS payera les frais de séjour de chaque finaliste qui assiste au Congrès. La Sociedad Internacional de Doble Cañas (IDRS) se complace en anunciar la 39na competencia anual para oboístas a llevarse a cabo durante la Conferencia de IDRS del 2019. Finalrunde—Die Jury wird am 1. Mai 2019 bis zu fünf Kandidaten zur Teilnahme an der Finalrunde auswählen und bekanntgeben. Die Finalrunde wird vor einer renommierten Jury, in einem öffentlichen Konzert des Internationalen Double Reed Society Kongresses in der University of South Florida in Tampa, FL, USA, vom 14. bis 18. Juli 2019 ausgetragen. Das Repertoire der Finalrunde ist identisch mit dem der Vorrunde, jedoch muss zusätzlich noch das komplette Konzert in C-Dur, RV 447 von Antonio Vivaldi (Edition Kunzelmann) vorbereitet werden. Die Juroren werden Auszüge aus jedem der vier gegeben Repertoirestücke auswählen, die in der Finalrunde vorgetragen werden müssen. Ein Pianist wird jedem Teilnehmer zur Verfügung gestellt! Allerdings ist es jedem Teilnehmer freigestellt, einen Begleiter eigener Wahl auf eigene Kosten mitzubringen. Die Entscheidungen der Jury können nicht angefochten werden. Die Jury kann auch beschliessen, weniger oder keine Preise zu verleihen. Die IDRS übernimmt die Kosten für Mahlzeiten und Übernachtungen für jeden der Finalisten während des Kongresses. Der Gewinner des Wettbewerbs erklärt sich damit einverstanden, das komplette Konzert in C-Dur, RV 447 von Antonio Vivaldi in einem Konzert während des IDRS Kongresses 2019 vorzutragen.

国际双簧协会很荣幸的宣布,2019年第39届国际双簧协会年度双簧管大赛正式接受 报名。本项赛事是为纪念已故国际著名巴松演奏大师,曾于1922-1949年间任芝加 哥交响乐团巴松首席的Hugo Fox先生与已故国际知名双簧管演奏大师及国际双簧 协会荣誉会员Fernand Gillet 先生。2019年大赛第一名奖金设为美金壹万两千元整;第二名设为美金八千元整,其他每 位决赛入围选手将会获得美金三千元整。

1. 参赛资格双簧管参赛选手在比赛决赛日期之前没有达到31周岁者,有资格报名参赛。已获得 过本大赛第一名获奖者无权再次参加比赛。所有参赛者必须为现国际双簧协会成 员。

决赛 – 大赛组委会评审团将于2019年5月1日宣布初选结果并甄选五位演奏选手 进入决赛。决赛将于2019年7月14至18日国际双簧协会年会期间,于美国南佛罗里 达州立大学坦帕校区举行,评委将由世界著名的演奏家所组成,并以公开音乐会方 式呈现。决赛曲目与初赛曲目要求一致, 另包括演奏整首Concerto in C Major, RV 447- (全曲及所有反复) (Kunzelmann)。 评委们会要求参赛选手从这四首比赛曲目中 的指定段落来进行演奏。大赛将会为选手提供专业钢琴伴奏;但参赛选手也可以应 自身需求带钢琴伴奏,但须选手自行负担所有其相关费用。评委决定将为最终结果, 一旦宣布,将无法更改,评委会将依照具体比赛情况选择最终奖项归属。国际双簧 协会组委会将会在决赛期间提供所有入选决赛之选手食宿相关费用。大赛最终首奖 获得者需同意在2019年国际双簧年会期间再次以音乐会方式演奏整首Concerto in C Major, RV 447- (全曲及所有反复) (Kunzelmann)。
