Domestic CabinsThe Oceanic range is available in celebration or deluxe option providing a choice in the timber used for the benches, back rests, head rests, floor mats and heater guard.

Celebration SpecificationOur standard timber is a white spruce commonly used in traditional sauna cabins. This spruce has small knots dotted throughout the timber complimenting the panel claddings and is a popular choice for many of our customers. Celebration cabins come complete with wall mounted lamp and shade.

Deluxe SpecificationOur deluxe Abachi timber comes from a tropical African tree. Abachi timber is particularly popular for use in sauna cabins due to its lack of splinters or resin, most particularly however its low heat retention makes it an ideal choice as the material stays cooler to the touch, reducing the need for use of towels in the cabin. Deluxe cabins come with recessed spotlights.

All of our Saunas are manufactured in the UK using kiln dried spruce sourced from managed forests certified by the FSC. All cabins come with an Oceanic Heater and full range of accessories.

Oceanic

The word “sauna” is an ancient Finnish word, however the ritual of sauna bathing has existed in every corner of the world for many hundreds of years and in a variety of different fashions. Nowadays we break them down into three categories: traditional Finnish saunas, infrared saunas, and steam rooms. Very early examples of the sauna are: the Finnish Smoke Sauna (savusaunas), the Mesoamerican Sweat Lodge (Temazcal) , the Roman Thermae, the Turkish Hammam, and the Japanese Sentō. Historically using a sauna cabin was not only a bathing activity but also a social one, and that social aspect of sauna bathing is still a very prominent part of Nordic culture today.

The Traditional Finnish SaunaToday most traditional Finish saunas use an electric heater withvery dense Peridotite rocks placed on the heating elements.Before taking a sauna the cabin is heated for around 30 minutes allowing the air temperature to rise to 80°C or more and for the benches to become comfortably warm. At the same time the air is dried to a very low humidity of 10° or less. It is this very hot desert dry condition that gives rise to the unique sauna bathing experience. Splashing water onto the sauna rocks gives a short lived burst of extra humidity and the experience of the temperature rising very quickly to induce copious amounts of perspiration. Use a spare room or convert a garage or loft, most models can be tailored to custom sizes and are available with full or partial glass front or sides. All cabins come complete with a full height safety glass door, benches, a traditional rock sauna heater, accessories, fittings, installation instructions and a user guide. Upgrades for sauna heater and digital controls are available for all sized models.

Constructed from only the finest quality timber sourced from trusted merchants, all of our cabins are designed for easy installation, no plumbing or drainage, plastering or building work, all that is required is a space that leaves a 25mm air gap all around the cabin and a suitable electrical power supply.

Commercial CabinsLight Duty Commercial saunas are supplied with a tanalised timber base frame to lift the cabin off the floor and protect against lying water. A double thickness framing to the benches cater for the load of extra bathers completed with a glass door and frame, the door is also available in a disabled access width.

Commercial and Domestic cabins are supplied direct and can be delivered to anywhere in Europe.

Double insulated wall panelAll wall panels are filled with Rockwool and lined with an aluminium sheet to provide two layers of insulation improving efficiency, reducing the energy requirements and prolonging the life of the heater. The base is treated with a water resistant tanking solution so that the cabin does not absorb water when the floors are cleaned with mop and bucket. The hidden nail profile of the knot free spruce panels creates a clean flawless internal finish to the cabin.

Behind bench heaterAvailable for all heavy duty cabins is the behind bench heater, wall mounted and located behind a false wall at the rear of the cabin.

Prolonging life of elementsA water dish and hose are fitted to the behind bench heater, distributing water evenly across the rocks and protecting the elements from direct contact with water which is a common cause of failure in commercially operated sauna heaters.

Safer useWith the heater hidden behind a false wall any accidental injuries from contact with the hot surfaces are prevented.

Heat resistant panelsTo avoid scorching of the timber panel behind the heater unit all heavy duty cabins are supplied with heat resistant panels. As an optional feature the panels can also be lined with a mosaic or split faced slate tiles.

The new range feature stylish brushed stainless steel outer case for an improved appearance and increased durability. For day long operation floor standing heavy duty heaters have large rock capacity for trouble free operation.

Remote controls allow for salon supervision of the cabin temperature.

A new addition to the range of sauna heaters is the behind bench heater. The narrow profile unit is designed to be mounted behind a false wall in order to give maximum space inside the cabin. Rock basket prevents water having direct contact with elements. Available for domestic and commercial in a range of outputs.

Oceanic’s latest heater is the stylish floor standing heater with optional steam generator that can easily and neatly attached to the side of the heater which can then be controlled via our Saunarium control system. The rock tray has been designed to prevent water from direct contact with the heating elements which is a common cause of premature element failure.

External Controls

The OCSB control system includes a separate control box to house the high power electronics, a keypad which can be located remotely via low voltage cable and a temperature sensor to be fitted inside the cabin. Available from 3kw - 18kw. This system allows users to control the settings without kneeling down to the base of the heater and gives more precise control of the temperature inside the cabin.

Our new range of domestic wall hung heaters have digital controls built into the heater for adjusting time and temperature. Only a single power feed is required to the heater for simple straight forward installation.

Infrared sauna cabins operate in a different way to the traditionalsauna, traditional saunas heat the bather via convection;by heating the air and walls around them, whereas infrared is experienced as radiant heat. Infrared emitters heat the body without having to heat the air in between. Put simply when we stand in the sun we can feel the warmth, however when we stand in the shade we instantly feel cooler even though the air temperature remains the same. Infrared saunas operate at much lower temperatures with a maximum of around 60 degrees Celsius.The infrared spectrum is broken down into three segmentsdetermined by wavelength, IRA (short wave), IRB (medium wave) and IRC (long wave), the shorter the wavelength the deeper thepenetration into the skin. Oceanic IR lamps produce most of their output in medium to long wave infrared.

Infrared Sauna Applications

Sauna bathing has been used as a method of relaxation, stressrelief, and increased sense of well-being for years, it is also usedby athletes to aid in the rehabilitation of some sporting injuries.

• The warming process dilates the lymph channels and activates perspiration.

• Relaxed tissue improves blood supply causing a more effective degeneration of scars, sprains, contusions, wounds and inflammations.

Though the Greeks introduced the idea of communal bathingmid 2nd millennium BC, it was along with the expansion of theRoman Empire that the Roman steam room was born. Romanbaths were the focal centre of social and recreational activity;bathers would induce sweating by visiting a series of roomseach increasing in temperature.

Modern steam rooms usually operate between 40-60 degreesCelsius, though the temperatures are much lower than thatof a sauna the increase in humidity to 100% means that it isunbearable to heat the room much further than 60 °C withoutscalding.

Roman Steam RoomsOceanic Roman steam rooms are suitable for hotels, public bathing facilities and spas or the perfect compliment to any home.

PanelsEach panel is constructed from strong, high tech, vacuum formed acrylic capped with a special ABS material that resists scratching caused through general use, ensuring both the appearance and longevity of the cabin. Each panel is supplied ready to assemble; roof panels curve to ensure that the condensation built up in the cabin can run naturally along the panels, seat panels are pre-formed and ergonomically shaped ensuring user comfort.

DoorOur steam room doors are the height of modern design with a choice of a polished chrome or bright white finish. Each door is complete with a bright silver handle, matching steam proof hinges, magnetic closing seal and can be hinged either left or right.

LightingIP65 rated low voltage spot lights create a clean white light, once the cabin has filled with steam the light becomes more subdued and relaxing. Optional Extra - chromotherapy lights, small LED spotlights that can be set to a single colour or left to fade through the spectrum dependent upon the mood of the user. A small waterproof control button lights up ensuring it can be seen inside the cabin once it has filled with steam.

Ventilation is created naturally, an inlet air gap beneath the door and exhaust vent positioned in a roof panel.

ExteriorThe exterior faces of the steam rooms are unfinished to allow customers to integrate them into the design of their room.

Our range of domestic, commercial and heavy duty and robust Oceanic steam generators manufactured using top quality incalloy elements that resist scaling combined with additional electronics for a long trouble free working life. Robust heavy duty elements are Teflon coated.

Advanced ControlElectronic controls with a digital display to enable temperatures of 30oC to 60oC and time duration 15 to 240 minutes or continual operation with additional keys for a steam room light, keyboard lock, manual drain down etc.

On-board DiagnosticsAll generators feature an advanced electronic controls with on board diagnostics. The generators are fitted with heating elements that operate sequentially. Thermostatic control via automated switching of the heating elements for gentle control of the room temperature.

Commercial OperationFor commercial use a heavy duty generator is supplied with an autodescale function and the innovative energy saving Steam On Demand function. This feature is excellent for during quieter periods of the day, users inside the room can use this button to activate the generator to produce steam for 30 minutes.

New Automatic Descaling FunctionThe generator automatically fills itself from a reservoir of dilute acid solution then goes through a cycle of cleaning and rinsing to thoroughly descale itself. For extra hard water areas there is an additional large diameter drain port that allows for access inside the boiler for even the largest remnants of scale.

Auto Drain and FlushingAll generators feature an auto drain down with a self flushing cycle to drain and flush the boiler contents in a controlled manner. Flushing and draining the boiler reduces the build up of damaging lime-scale, cooling the elements before the final drainage helps prolong their useful life.

AromatherapySteam inlet nozzle with facility for crushed herbs and essential oils. Safety features include boil dry protection, thermal overload safety cut out and pressure relief valve.
