EVENING - FIRST NIGHTGET SETTLED IN AND GET TO THE TOP OF THE DUNES: When arriving at any one of our great lodging properties in the area (see a complete list on page 38 of the travel guide), quickly unpack your bags and take to the dunes to experience a one-of-a-kind Lake Michigan Sunset from high atop the dunes. Head to the north side of Silver Lake and park in the large lot and start hiking. Here you will experience panoramic views of the area with ORV-only dunes to the North, Pedestrian and Mac Wood’s Dune tour area to the south. Take it all in as you gaze out onto nearly 3,000 acres of natural beauty.

GRAB EVENING ICE CREAM AT WHIPPY DIP: After taking in the sunset, make your way back through town and grab an ice cream on the south side of Silver Lake at Whippy Dip. They are right next door to Mac Wood’s Dune Rides.

SECOND DAYCHECK OUT MOO SCHOOL & THE PETTING FARM: Grab the family after breakfast and take a trip south to the New Era area (approximately 15 mins from Silver Lake) and check out Moo School at Country Dairy. You can learn about the agriculture and farming operation of the area. You can even add on a more comprehensive tour of the facility for a nominal fee. After you wrap up at the dairy, head down the road to the Lewis Farm Market & Petting Farm. Here you can grab a bite to eat for lunch, and the kids will love all of the live animals (especially Jeffrey, their Arabian Camel), games and farm rides.

TAKE ON THE DUNES: Get back to the dunes and take them on full throttle with a Jeep Tour at Parrot’s Landing, or a ride at Mac Wood’s Dune Rides. If you are more of the adventurous type, you can rent vehicles or take your own out (as long as it has the proper vehicle registration) on the Northern section of the dunes designated for ORVs only. There are plenty of rental locations throughout the area that can help assist you in getting the right vehicle for your family. A complete list can be found on page 40-41 of the travel guide.

WRAP THE DAY AT CRAIG’S CRUISERS: Visit Craig’s Cruisers for a zip line ride with panoramic views over Silver Lake and the dunes in the distance. If that is a bit too adventurous, how about a game of mini golf and go karts?

THIRD DAY - LAST DAYMORNING WALK AT LITTLE SABLE POINT: Venture to the south of Silver Lake to the shores of Lake Michigan to see the Little Sable Point Lighthouse. Climb to the top ($3 Adults/$1 Children) and check out the beautiful scenery. Before you pack up for the day and head back, relax for a little time at the beach and just enjoy the gentle waters of Lake Michigan. The kids can play in the water, build sand castles and parents can relax and read that book they have been trying to get to.
