Foreword
This book contains the records in the divisions and events as specified in the official Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada (WSWC) Rules. Anyone who wishes to have a performance recognized as a record should be made aware that the rules, as set out in the official Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada Rule Book, must be strictly adhered to, and that all record applications must be completed in detail within thirty (30) days of the performance.
ELIGIBILITY FOR CANADIAN RECORDS
All persons desiring certification of a record performance must be WSWC competitive licenced members with current dues paid prior to the competition. All persons must be Canadian citizens or must have applied for Canadian citizenship at least six months prior to the date of the tournament in which the performance occurred. Athletes setting records in the Open or Elite Divisions will have their performances recognized under their age division. World records set by Canadians will be accepted as Canadian National Records.
EVENTS FOR WHICH CANADIAN RECORDS ARE RECOGNIZED
WSWC will recognize Canadian records for trick points, slalom performance and jump distances in accordance with the divisions listed in the official WSWC Rules. Tournaments may be approved as Record Capability Tournaments by applying to WSWC National Office and following the applicable sanction procedures in advance of the applied-for event. The current age divisions are defined as follows (last revised 2016): GU10 9 years and under BU10 9 years and under GU12 11 years and under BU12 11 years and under GU14 13 years and under BU14 13 years and under WU17 16 years and under MU17 16 years and under WU21 20 years and under MU21 20 years and under Women 21 – 34 years inclusive Men 21 – 34 years inclusive Women III 35 – 44 years inclusive Men III 35 – 44 years inclusive Women IV 45 – 52 years inclusive Men IV 45 – 52 years inclusive Women V 53 – 59 years inclusive Men V 53 – 59 years inclusive Women VI 60 – 64 years inclusive Men VI 60 – 64 years inclusive Women VII 65 – 69 years inclusive Men VII 65 – 69 years inclusive Women VIII 70 – 74 years inclusive Men VIII 70 – 74 years inclusive Women IX 75 years and over Men IX 75 years and over Open Women determined by performance not age Open Men determined by performance not age (see WSWC Rule Book 4.1.2) (see WSWC Rule Book 4.1.2) Elite Women any age Elite Men any age
