What we wish to drive with the introduction of the 2018 Future Energy Asia Exhibition & Conference is to bring professionals from across Asia & the world to share their experiences and collaborate on how the industry can integrate renewable energy and traditional fossil fuels and make this model resilient, affordable and sustainable.

The 2018 Future Energy Asia Exhibition & Conference was an integrated oil, gas, LNG & energy transformation event that brought together professionals from the complete energy value chain to engage in strategic dialogue, create new partnerships and identify solutions to foster a secure, affordable and low-carbon energy mix across Asia.

The exhibition & conference provided a structured platform for NOCs, IOCs, power producers, utility companies, service companies as well as engineering companies to discuss Asia’s all-inclusive energy future.

The transformation and development of Thailand is a major priority for the government which has created incredible business opportunities within the industry. The Thailand Integrated Energy Blueprint, which serves as Thailand’s energy manifesto to the global energy community clearly defines the government’s commitment to promoting new energy, whilst highlighting critical factors such as energy transformation, energy security, access to affordable and reliable supplies as well as the introduction of clean and low-carbon alternatives the people of Thailand.

OPENING CEREMONY HIGHLIGHTSThe Future Energy Asia Exhibition & Conference 2018 was officially opened by His Excellency Dr Siri Jirapongphan, Minister of Energy, Ministry of Energy, Thailand to an attendee profile including government representatives, industry CEOs, policy makers and decision makers who convened at BITEC, Bangkok in December.

The Opening Ceremony marked the start of three days of industry discussions, held against the backdrop of the regions quickly adapting energy industry.

As the global demand for energy continues to grow, the need for our industry to adapt has increased. With the onset of a new industrial age that encompasses rapid digitalization, automation and energy transformation, the Thailand Integrated Energy Blueprint – Thailand’s energy manifesto - clearly defines the government’s commitment to promoting new energy, highlighting energy security; access to affordable and reliable supplies; and clean, low-carbon alternatives for the industry.

The Future Energy Asia Exhibition & Conference 2018 serves as a signal to the world, that Thailand, being part of the ASEAN community, a major business hub of Asia is open for energy trade and business. An event of this nature brings together our partners and innovators that bring technology and new ideas to both, the fossil fuel and upstream side of the industry as well as the utilisation of these resources to generate electricity and power our industries. We look forward to renewable energy being a core part of our growth and being the mainstream of our energy supply. Rooftop solar, folding solar panels integrated with other renewable sources will play a large role in our future development plans.

LNG is at the top of the priority for PTT. LNG has become THE fuel of choice given it is a clean fuel, its abundant resources and its price competitiveness. LNG would also be the answer to Thailand’s depleting domestic gas reserve.PTT aspires to become a “Global LNG portfolio player”. We plan to invest in the LNG upstream resources and midstream liquefaction projects in the various regions in the world, such as East Africa (Mozambique), the Middle East, the US and Russia, in order to diversify LNG price risk as well as supply risk.
