SYMPOSIUM INFORMATION

Date: August 23-26, 2018

Location: Lake Placid, New York

Cost: $550 for current USA Hockey members (online registration required)

$600 for current USA Hockey members (mail-in registration)

$650 for non-USA Hockey members (mail-in registration)

Who Can Attend? Any USA Hockey-registered coach who has completed his/her coaching

certification Levels 1-4 prior to the event is eligible to participate.

What Are The USA Hockey Level 5 Requirements? Candidates for Level 5 Certification must attend the entire National

Hockey Coaches Symposium. Additional information regarding

submitted material requirements (thesis or other written material)

will be distributed at the event. Attendees will be required to check-

in throughout the event, and check-out upon exiting. Failure to do

so at any point during the event will prohibit receiving your Level 5

certification.

Where Can I Stay? The 2018 National Hockey Coaches Symposium will utilize a variety of

hotels in the Lake Placid area. The hotel information, along with rates and

booking information, will be posted on the usahockey.com Level 5 page.

Please be aware that this is a busy time of year in Lake Placid. You

must book early in order to receive our negotiated group rates by the

deadlines outlined. Once the block is booked, or the deadline has

passed, rates will revert to the current rack rate available and USA

Hockey cannot negotiate any further.

FORUM

General Sessions Each presentation will be an hour in length. The topics presented will deal with all

aspects of the game of hockey. The presenters will be prominent coaches from the

National Hockey League (NHL), American Hockey League (AHL), Europe and the

National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Group Breakout SessionsCoaches will select either the 12 & Under or 13 & Older age group upon registering for

the event. The breakout sessions will be based on those two age categories. Attendees

will explore innovative approaches to coaching through intensive sessions dedicated

to those age groups. For the first time, coaches will go on the ice for at least one

breakout session. All equipment (helmets, skates, sticks) is required in order to

participate. Coaches will leave with tools and resources that they can use every day.

Cancellation PolicyWritten cancellations in the form of a completed Clinic Refund Form must be received

in order to confirm cancellation. Verbal cancellations will not be accepted. The Clinic

• A full refund, less a $25 processing fee, will be issued for all refund requests

received prior to August 5, 2018.

• Cancellations received after August 15, 2018, will not be refunded.
