As of December 2018, a total of 17,562 enterprise-based
unions are registered nationwide, with more than 1.5 million
reported union members.
Fifty-seven percent (57%) or 9,985 of the total enterprise-
based unions are affiliated with a national union or
federation.
On the other hand, a total of 7,577 independent unions
were recorded covering the 43% of the total enterprise-
based unions.
In the Northern Luzon (CAR, I, II), it is observed that most
unions are registered as independent (see FIG.PH.1.1).

As shown in FIG.PH.1.3, the National Capital Region (NCR)
has the highest Trade Union Density Rate (TUDR) with 24.4%, followed by the Regions III - Central Luzon and XII - SOCCSKSARGEN with 5.7% and 5.6%, respectively. The given TUDR is the ratio of the number of employees who are members of trade unions to the total number of private
sector employees in each region.
The lowest TUDR is recorded in the MIMAROPA Region with
0.2%. This is followed by the Ilocos Region with 0.6% .

FEDERATED INDEPENDENT
In terms of membership, independent unions generally have
more reported members than federated unions. There are
more than 790,000 independent union members (51%)
while there are more than 750,000 federated union
members (49%) reported nationwide.
The region with highest percentage difference between
independent and affiliate unions is in Region II-Cagayan
Valley where 92% are independent and only 8% are
affiliated (see FIG.PH.1.2).

In terms of industry, more than half (52%) of the existing
unions in the Philippines are operating in the Manufacturing
industry with more than 9,000 registered unions having
about 800,000 reported union members.
Most of the unions in Manufacturing industry are located in
the National Capital Region (NCR).
The Wholesale and Retail Trade; Repair of Motor Vehicles
and Motorcycles industry follows with more than 1,500
registered unions having more than 80,000 reported
members.
The industry with third highest number of existing union is
the Transport and Storage, where there are more than
1,300 unions registered having more than 130,000
reported members.
Fourth is the industry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing
with more than 1,000 registered unions having more than
100,000 reported members.
Accommodation and Food Service industry, on the other
hand, is the industry with the fifth highest number of existing
unions with more than 750 registered unions having more
than 35,000 reported members.

EXISTING UNIONS IN THE PHILIPPINES
As of December 2018, there are 995 existing Collective
Bargaining Agreements (CBA) in the Philippines with more
than 180,000 covered workers.
Of these, 412 CBAs are negotiated with independent
unions covering more than 90,000 workers. On the other
hand, CBAs negotiated with affiliated unions are about 583
covering more than 90,000 workers.
In terms of the type of registration, almost 10% of the CBAs
are registered as First CBA covering more than 20,000
workers.
While, almost 5% are Renegotiated CBAs with more than
13,000 covered workers.
Eighty-two percent (82%) of the existing CBAs are
registered as renewal covering almost 150,000 workers in
the country (see TAB.PH.1.1).

Among 136 registered federations in the country, the
Associated Labor Unions, registered since 1954, has the
most number of affiliate unions having about 924 affiliates
and second highest number of members of about 70,000
(see TABLE.PH.1.1).
On the other hand, the Philippine Trade and General
Workers Organization (PTGWO), having 326 affiliate
unions, has the highest union membership of more than
80,000.

Lakas Manggagawa sa Pilipinas (LAKAS) has the highest
number of affiliate unions in the region while Philippine
Trade and General Workers Organization (PTGWO) has the most number of members among federations (see TAB.NCR.1.2).
There are 576 existing CBAs in NCR as of 2018 covering
more than 100,000 workers - the highest among regions
nationwide.
Fifty-eight percent (58%) of these CBAs are from
affiliated unions. However, more workers are covered by
CBAs with independent unions (see TAB.NCR.1.3).
Table NCR.1.1 shows the distribution of existing unions and union
membership by city/municipality in NCR. Three cities covers almost half or 49% of the total unions in NCR; namely, City of Manila with 1,928 unions; Quezon City with 1,913 unions and City of Valenzuela with 1,259 unions.

In terms of union membership, independent union members cover
51% of the total union membership in NCR with 438,131 reported union members. Chartered local unions have a total of 304,428 members (35%), while affiliate unions have the least membership with 118,585 members (14%) (see FIG.NCR.1.2).
The National Capital Region (NCR) recorded the highest number
of unions among regions with 10,398 unions (59%). It also has the most number of union members with 861,144 covering 57% of the total union membership.
Out of the 10,398 unions, 56% (5,863 unions) are registered as
chartered locals; 40% (4,161 unions) are independent unions; while the remaining 4% (374 unions) are registered as affiliates. (Fig. NCR.1.1).
In terms of industry, most registered unions in NCR (43%)
operate in Manufacturing Industry with more than 300,000
reported members. The industry of Wholesale and Retail
Trade; Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles follows
having 1,060 registered unions.

There is a total of 64 registered unions in the Cordillera
Administrative Region (CAR) with a total of 11,779 reported members.
Sixty-seven percent (67%) or 43 of these unions are
registered as independent union with 5,640 members, while chartered locals and affiliate unions have 13 and 8 union registrations, respectively (see FIG. CAR.1.1).
Most existing enterprise-based unions in CAR operates in
Benguet Province covering 95% of total unions in the region.
Consequently, Benguet also has the most number of union
members among provinces in CAR, with 11,601 out of the
11,779 union members or about 99%.
As shown in Fig. CAR.1.2, federated unions have more
members compared to independent unions, with a combined percentage of 52% (Chartered Locals 27% and Affiliates 25% ) or equivalent to more than 6,000 members.

Associated Labor Unions (ALU), a federation registered
since1954, has the most number of locals/affiliates among federations in the CAR with 6 affiliate unions.
On the other hand, National Federation of Labor Unions-
KMU (NAFLU-KMU) has the highest union membership among federations with 2,055 reported members (see TAB.CAR.1.2).

Both independent and affiliated unions cover 50% (3 CBAs
each) of existing CBAs in CAR as of December 2018, however, affiliated unions have more covered workers of about 2,042 (56%).
In terms of registration, 83% of these CBAs are renewed
with 3,592 workers covered and only one (1) CBA is filed as first.

The Mining & Quarrying industry in the CAR has the most
number of registered unions across industries with 15 unions covering 23% of the total union registration. Education also appears to be relatively high with 10 registrations.

The province of Pangasinan has the most number of registered
unions in Region I, with 52 unions covering 63% of the total union registration in the region. It also has the largest number of union members with 2,961 or 47% of the total membership.
La Union has a significantly large number of union members of
2,389 or about 38% of the total membership despite having only 19 registered unions.
The three (3) existing CBAs in the region as of December
2018 are all CBA renewal with federated unions. The agreements cover more than 300 workers.
Most of the registered unions in Ilocos Region are in the
Manufacturing industry with 35 out of 83 unions, covering about 42% of the total unions in the region. Moreover, this industry covers 56% of the total union members in the region with 3,517reported members.
Unions in the Education industry are also relatively high in
number with 20 registrations.

Among the existing federations in the region, the Trade Union
of the Philippines and Allied Services (TUPAS) has the most number of affiliate unions with five (5) unions, followed by ALU and NAFLU each having two (2) affiliate unions.
However, National Mines & Allied Workers Union
(NAMAWU), having one affiliate, has the most number of members covering 37% of the federated unions members (see TAB.I.1.2).
Independent unions cover almost 81% (67 unions) of the total
union registrations and 75% (4,688 members) of the total union members. Only 19% of the unions are federated with more than 1,500 members.

There are 47 existing enterprise-based unions with 13,605
reported union members registered in Region II as of December 2018.
Of these, almost 92% are registered as independent unions
while chartered locals and affiliated unions comprise 4% of the total union registration in the region.
Consequently, independent unions has more union members
covering 93% or 12,585 union members than federated unions with combined percentage of 7% (chartered local 6%, affiliated 1%).

Among the four provinces in the region, the province of
Isabela has the most number of registered unions with 22 unions or about 47% of the total registrations. There is more than 4,000 reported union members in the province as of 2018.
However, the province of Cagayan, with 18 registered
unions, has the highest union membership in the region covering almost 67% of total union membership (see TAB.II.1.1).
There are four federations listed with registered locals/
affiliates in the region; these are Associated Labor Unions (ALU), Filipino Samahang Manggagawa (FSM), Philippine Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Workers Union (PACIWU), and Trade Union of the Philippines and Allied Services (TUPAS) each having one local.
In terms of membership, ALU covers 80% of the total
reported union membership in this region, with 824 union members (see TAB.II.1.2).

About 30% of the unions are in Education Industry, the
highest among industries in the Cagayan Region. It is closely followed by Manufacturing Industry with about 27% (see FIG.I.1.3).
The industry of Electricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning
Supply also has relatively high registration with nine (9) registered unions.
The Manufacturing industry, on the other hand, recorded the
highest number of union membership by industry, with more than 10,000 union members

The province of Bulacan recorded the highest number of
registrations in the region (see TAB.III.1.1).
Bulacan also have the highest union membership with 36,667
members, covering 24% of the total union members in
Central Luzon.
The province of Pampanga, Bataan and Zambales also have
relatively high number of registrations in the region.

As shown in TAB.III.1.2, the National Workers Brotherhood
(NWB), registered in 1953, has the highest number of affiliate unions in the region with 47 local unions, however, Alyansa ng Mangagawa at Pilipinong Organisado (AMAPO), registered in 2010, has the highest number of union members with more than 36,000.
There are 116 existing CBAs in Region III covering 16,271
workers where independent and affiliated unions each have 58 CBAs.
In terms of type of registration, 79% are renewal, 13% are
first or new registrations and 8% are renegotiated.

UNIONS IN REGION III
As of December 2018, there are 1,237 enterprise-based
unions registered in Central Luzon, one of the highest among
regions nationwide. There are also more than 150,000
reported union members in the region.
About 614 unions or almost half of the registered unions in
the region are registered as independent.
In terms of union members, 47% are members of independent
unions while 53% are members of federated unions (48%
affiliated, 5% federated) as shown in Fig. III. 1.2.
With respect to industry, Manufacturing has the highest union
registration with 766 unions and more than 80,000 union members.

Laguna has the highest number of registered unions and union
membership in the CALABARZON Region. It has 835
registered unions (38%) with 74,865 reported members
Moreover, all other provinces in the region have more than a
hundred union registrations with 10,000 to 50,000 union
members (see TAB.IVA.1.1).

Filipinong Samahang Manggagawa (FSM) has most number
of locals/affiliates in Region IV-A recording 79 affiliates. It is
closely followed by SUPER and OLALIA with 78 and 74
affiliates, respectively.
In terms of union membership, Organized Labor Association in
Line Industry and Agriculture (OLALIA), a federation
registered since 1986, recorded the highest union membership
in the region with 6,868 members (see Table IVA.1.2).

Region IV-A is the region with second highest number of union
registration in the Philippines. It has 2,223 existing unions with
more than 193,000 reported members.
Among these unions, 50% are chartered locals covering 39%
(76,169) of the total members in the region. Independent
unions are also relatively high in number covering 47% of
registrations and 55% (106,668) of the members. Only 3%
are affiliate unions in the region. With respect to industry, most unions operate in
Manufacturing industry with about 1,558 registrations having
more than 150,000 reported members (see FIG.IVA.1.3).
There are 74 existing CBAs in Region IV-A covering 17,500
workers as of December 2018 (see Table IVA.1.3).
Fifty-eight percent (58%) are negotiated with federated
unions and the rest are with independent unions (42%).
Among existing CBAs, 20% or 16 CBAs are registered as
first CBA.

Region IV-B recorded the lowest unionization rate among
regions in the Philippines at 0.2%, with 25 existing unions and
more than 1,000 reported members.
Most unions are independent with 18 registrations (72%)
having 951 reported members.
The remaining 7 registered unions are chartered locals with
197 union members covering about 17% of total union
membership.

Palawan has the most number of unions and union
membership among provinces in the MIMAROPA Region.
Palawan recorded 60% of the total union registration and
78% of the total union membership in the region (see
TAB.IVB.1.1).

Of the 25 existing unions in Region IV-B, 7 are registered
as locals/affiliates with 197 reported members.
Lakas Manggagawa sa Pilipinas (LAKAS), a registered
federation since 1987, recorded the highest number of
locals/affiliates having 3 registered unions with almost a
hundred reported union members (see TAB.IVB.1.2).
Fig.IVB.1.3 below shows the industries with the most number
of existing unions in Region IV-B. The Mining and Quarrying
industry with 6 unions, has the highest number among
industries in the MIMAROPA.
Other industries with high union turnout, are the
Manufacturing; and Transport, Storage & Communications
both having five (5) registered unions with 210 and 158
reported union members, respectively.
On the other hand, the Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing
industry with only two registered unions has the most number
of reported members of about 400.

A total of 22 CBAs are existing in the Region V, covering
2,015 workers.
Most of the existing CBAs or about 82% are negotiated by
independent unions covering almost 1,680 workers.
Twenty (20) of 22 existing CBAs are renewal and only two
(2) are registered as first CBA.

The Electricity, Gas, Steam and Water Supply industry with
42 unions covers about 25% of the unions, the highest among
industries in the Bicol Region (see FIG.V.1.3).
Consequently, it also has the highest number of union
members with 2,703, covering 27% of the total unions
memberships.
Manufacturing, and Transport and Storage industries also
have relatively high union registrations with 31 and 30
ADLO also has the most number of union members with 450,
covering 23% (450 out of 1,915) of the total federated union
members. National Congress of Unions in the Sugar Industry
of the Philippines (NACUSIP) closely follows with 440
reported members.

There are 645 registered unions in Region VI with reported
members of about 42,000.
Sixty-three percent (63%) of these unions are registered as
independent (406 out of 645) which also covers 61% of the
total union membership (25,681 out of 41,950).
On the other hand, 34% (222 out of 645) of the unions in the
region are chartered locals covering 31% (12,957 out of
41,950) of the total membership.
Majority of the existing unions in Western Visayas are situated
in the province of Negros Occidental with 535 unions.
Moreover, there are 33,566 reported union members in the
province covering 80% of the total membership in the region.
Commercial and Agro-Industrial Labor Organization (CAILO),
a federation registered since 1962, with 50 local unions covers 21% of the 239 federated unions in Region VI, the
highest among the federations in the region (see Tab.VI.1.2).
CAILO also has the most number of union members among
federations, covering 14% of the total federated union
members.
Out of the 15 existing CBAs in Western Visayas, 73% or 11
CBAs are negotiated with affiliated unions covering 1,591
workers.
Moreover, about 87% or 13 out of 15 CBAs in the region are
registered as renewal and only 13% or 2 CBAs are registered
as First CBA.

In terms of industry, unions in the Agriculture, Forestry and
Fishing industry covers 62% of the total unions with 401 registrations (see FIG.VI.1.3). It also has the highest number of
members with almost 21,000 covering 49% of the total.

In Region VII, there are 1,007 unions registered as of
December 2018 with total reported members of more than
66,000.
Chartered local unions cover almost 65% of total union
registration (651 out of 1,007) in the region with 34,680
members covering 52% of regional union membership.
Associated Labor Unions (ALU) has the most number of locals/
affiliates and union membership among federations operating
in Region VII.
ALU covers 51% of 685 total existing federated unions and
52% of 37,085 total federated members in Central Visayas.
Table VII.1.3 shows the number of existing collective
bargaining agreements in Region VII. There are 56 existing CBAs in the region where 71% are negotiated with affiliated
unions and 29% are with independent unions.
Ninety-five percent (95%) are CBA renewal and only 5% are
registered as first CBA.
The 56 existing CBAs cover 7,794 workers in the region.
The highest number of registered unions in Central Visayas is
in the Manufacturing industry with 410 registered unions
(41%) and 24,784 reported members (37%).
Transportation and Storage industry follows with 154
registered unions. Wholesale and Retail Trade; Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles industry also has relatively
high registrations with 131 registered unions.

A large number of existing unions in Central Visayas operates
in the province of Cebu, covering 88% of total unions in the
region.
Consequently, union membership in Cebu is the highest
covering 83% of total union membership (see TAB.VII.1.1).

The province of Leyte has the highest number of existing
unions among the provinces in Eastern Visayas, with 167,
covering 76% of the total unions.
Consequently, Leyte also has the highest number of union
members in the region with 8,961 members (see TAB.VII.1.1).
The Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing Industry has the most
number of registered unions in Eastern Visayas. There are 47
unions in this industry with about 2,411 members.
Manufacturing industry, with 43 unions and 2,605 members,
follows the Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing industry in the
number of registered unions among the industries in the region.
Moreover, the Transport and Storage industry, with third
highest union registration among industries (see FIG.VIII.1.3), has the highest union membership with about 2,780 reported
members.

Associated Labor Unions (ALU), on the other hand, has the
highest recorded membership in the region with 1,785 union members. This covers 40% of the total federated union
members in the region (see TAB.VIII.1.2).
As of December 2018, there are 220 enterprise-based unions
registered in Region VIII with more than 12,000 reported
members.
Majority or 53% of existing unions are federated unions (88
chartered locals and 28 affiliates).
However, there are more union members reported by
independent unions than federated unions (see FIG.VIII.1.2).

Leyte Farm Industrial Labor Drivers Organization (LEFILDO), a
federation registered since 1954, covers 33% of the total fed-
erated unions in Region VIII.
In terms of CBA, there are12 CBAs existing in Eastern Visayas
with 894 covered workers. Seventy-five percent (75%) of these CBAs are negotiated with affiliated unions (see
TAB.VIII.1.3).
Moreover, there are 11 CBA renewals (92%) registered in
the region, while only one (1) CBA is registered as first.

A total of 114 unions are registered in Region IX with
reported members of about 10,000. Fifty-eight percent
(58%) or 4,695 of the these unions are registered as
independent.
However, more than half of the reported union members are
from federated unions (chartered locals 52%, affiliated 2%)
while 46% are from independent unions (see FIG.IX.1.1).
The province of Zamboanga del Sur with 79 registered unions
(69%), has the highest number of registration among the
provinces in Zamboanga Peninsula.
Consequently, this province also has the highest union
membership in the region covering almost 71% of total
membership (see TAB.IX.1.1).
Philippine Integrated Industries Labor Union (PIILU), a
Zamboanga-based federation registered since 1988, has the
most number of existing federated unions and union members
(see TAB.IX.1.2).
Table IX.1.3 shows the number of existing collective
bargaining agreements in Region IX. There are 11 existing
CBAs in the region where all are renewal.
Sixty-seven percent (67%) of the existing CBAs are from
affiliated unions with 331 covered workers .
In terms of industry, most registered unions operate in the
Manufacturing industry (33%), followed by Transport and
Storage (23%) and Wholesale and Retail Trade; Repair of
Vehicles and Motorcycles industry (10%) (see FIG.IX.1.3).
Manufacturing industry also has the most number of union
members of about 3,660; followed by Transport and
Storage with 2,415 unions members and Electricity, Gas,
Steam and Air-conditioning Supply with 1,180 reported
members.

A total of 378 unions are registered in Region X with more
than 42,000 reported members. Half of these unions are
chartered locals covering 59% (25,395 out of 42,692) of the
total union membership in the region.
Independent unions, on the other hand, comprise the 42% of
the unions, that is, 161 registrations with reported members of
14,459.
The province of Misamis Oriental, with 206 unions operating
in the area, has the highest number of unions in Northern
Mindanao. This covers about 54% of the total existing unions
in the region (see TAB.X.1.1).
Consequently, Misamis Oriental also has the most number of
reported union members, with 18,425 or 43% of the total
union members in Region X.
Bukidnon also recorded high union membership with 13,702.
This covers 32% of the total union membership in the region.
The Associated Labor Unions (ALU) has the most number of
affiliate unions and union members among federations in
Region X (see TAB.X.1.2).
A total of 18 existing CBAs are recorded in this region,
covering 3,743 workers.
Of these, 14 (78%) are registered with affiliated unions
covering 3,035 (81%) workers, while 4 CBAs (22%) are with
independent unions covering 708 workers in the region .
Furthermore, 17 out of 18 CBAs are renewal and only one (1)
is filed as first CBA.
In terms of industry, the Manufacturing industry leads in terms
of union registrations and union membership in Northern
Mindanao, with 40% (150 unions) of the total unions and
59% (24,701 members) of the total membership. Transport
and Storage; Wholesale and Retail Trade, Repair of Motor
Vehicles and Motorcycles; and Agriculture, Forestry and
Fishing industries also recorded high number of registered
unions with 56 and 45 unions, respectively.

There is a total of 521 unions registered in the Davao Region
with more than 54,000 reported members.
The 343 registered chartered locals cover 66% of the total
union in Region XI, while independent unions with 164
registrations cover 32% (see Fig.XI.1.1).
Chartered locals also cover majority of the union members with
almost 32,000 members (59%). Independent unions, on the
other hand, have more than 20,000 reported members.
Almost 68% of the existing unions in Region XI are situated in
the province of Davao del Sur. In particular, registrations in
the Davao City contribute to the high registration turnout in the
province.
Davao del Sur also covers 57% of the total union membership
in the region with 30,805 reported members (see TAB.X.1.1).
A total of 73 existing CBAs is recorded in Region XI with more
than 17,000 workers. Sixty percent (60%) of these CBAs are
negotiated with affiliate unions covering almost 7,000
workers. Forty percent (40%) are with independent unions
covering more than 10,000 workers.
Moreover, almost 80% of the existing CBAs are renewal,
18% are registered as first and 3% are renegotiated (see
TAB.XI.1.3).
The Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing industry has the highest
number of registered unions among industries in the Davao
Region. There are 207 existing unions in this industry with more
than 30,000 reported members.
Manufacturing industry also has large number of union
registration in the region with 118 registered unions.

The Associated Labor Unions (ALU) is the federation with the
highest number of affiliate unions in the region. It has 98
affiliates with a total of 12,615 reported members, also the

There are 216 registered enterprise-based unions in Region
XII with about 47,843 reported members.
Seventy-one percent (71%) or 153 of the unions are
registered as independent while chartered locals cover 24%
of registration or about 52 unions (see FIG.XII.1.1).
Independent unions, on the other hand, also have the majority
of union members covering 67% or 31,406 members.
Chartered locals have more than 10,000 reported members
(22%) while affiliate unions have almost 6,000 (12%).
The SOCCSKSARGEN Region has the third highest trade union
density rate among regions in the Philippines having 5.6%.
The province of South Cotabato with 118 unions, is the only
province in Region XII with more than 100 registered unions.
Sultan Kudarat and North Cotabato, the provinces with
second and third highest number of registered unions, both
have more than 30 union registrations (see TAB.XII.1.1).
South Cotabato has the highest number of union members
among the provinces in Region XII covering 83% of the total
reported members.

Associated Labor Unions (ALU), with 21 local unions, covers
34% of the federated unions, ranking first among the
federations in terms of number of affiliate unions. Further,
ALU has more than 4,000 reported members in the region.

In terms of industry, the Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing
industry has the highest number of unions in operation. There
are 64 unions registered working in this industry with nearly
25,000 members (see FIG.XII.1.3).
Second highest number, in terms of union registration, is the
Manufacturing industry with 50 registered unions having
around 15,000 reported members.
On the other hand, National Federation of Labor (NFL), a
federation registered since 1979, has the most number of
union members with more than 5,000 covering 35% of the
total membership of federated unions. NFL is the
federation with second highest number of affiliate unions in
the region.

A total of 13 CBAs are existing in the CARAGA Region with
2,852 covered workers.
Nearly 70% of the CBAs are from affiliated unions covering
almost 2,500 workers while the independent unions cover less
than 300.
On the other hand, 9 registered CBAs are renewal and only
2 CBAs are registered as first CBA.

In the CARAGA Region, there are 109 registered unions with
more than 16,000 reported union members.
Federated unions cover 52% of these existing unions. This
percentage is composed of 50 chartered local unions (46%)
and 7 affiliate unions (6%).
In terms of membership, chartered locals have more than
9,000 reported members, affiliates have almost 2,500 and
independent unions reported about 5,000 members.
Associated Labor Unions (ALU) has the highest number of local
unions and union members among federations in the region
with 13 affiliate unions and 3,044 members.
National Federation of Labor Union-KMU follows with 10
registered affiliate unions having more than 1,200 reported
members.
The province of Agusan del Norte has the highest number of
registered unions in the CARAGA Region with 50 registrations.
Having 5,809 reported members, this province also has the
highest union membership (see TAB.XIII.1.1).
There are 42 unions registered that operates in Manufacturing
industry with more than 7,000 reported members.
Sixteen (16) unions are registered in Agriculture, Forestry and
Fishing having 3,775 reported members.
In the industries of Transport and Storage, and Mining and
Quarrying, 13 unions are registered in each while both having

Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) with more
than 2,000 reported members.
Among these unions, 20 are registered as independent unions
covering 95% of the registrations. Only one (1) union is
registered as affiliate.

The province of Maguindanao has the highest number of
registered unions among the provinces in the ARMM. There
are 9 unions registered in the province with more than 1,000
reported members.
Lanao del Sur, on the other hand, has 7 registered unions with
more than 800 members.
Third among the provinces is Sulu having 4 union registrations
with more than 300 reported members.
Lastly, only one union is registered in the province of Basilan
with 84 reported members.
The Kabankalan (Siasi) Workers Union-KILUSAN, is the only
affiliated union in the region. It is affiliated with Pambansang
Kilusan ng Paggawa (KILUSAN), a federation registered since
1969.
On the other hand, in terms of industry, most registered unions
are in Transport and Storage industry with 10 unions.
Five (5) unions are registered in Wholesale and Retail; and
Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles, while there are
two (2) unions registered in each of the Manufacturing, and
Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing industries.
There is also one union registered that operates in each of the
industries of Education, and Mining and Quarrying (see
FIG.ARMM.1.3).
