Show InformationThe 2018 EWQA Conference & Trade Show is being held at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in the Pocono Mountains in northeastern PA with easy access right off I-380!

September 19, 2018 - Mr. Brian Oram a B.F. Environmental Consultant, will share legalities of sampling techniques for collecting samples for bacteria, heavy metals and organics analysis. In addition to collecting samples, attendees will learn the importance of chain of custody and how to maintain proper chain of custody, especially for samples that may be highly scrutinized. The class will also include a field trip of the Kalahari Resort, water system, so attendee will see where samples should be collected for various purposes. Also experience the use of on-site testing tools, and learn about on-site testing equipment. In addition to earning WQA continuing education credits, participants will also earn a certificate from Wilkes University. (Pre-Registration Required)

Mr. Oram’s background in Environmental Pollution Control and research on removal mechanisms for the parasitic protozoan Giardia, has been involved with developing Sourcewater Protection Plans, Private Well Ordinances, and Regional Watershed/ Groundwater Assessments. He has provided expert testimony in the fields of environmental science, hydrology, on-lot wastewater disposal, and geology and he has assisted in the evaluation and remediation of both private wells and regulated water sources.

B.F. Environmental Consultants specializes in the following areas: hydrogeological and wastewater evaluations for siting land-based wastewater disposal systems; soils consulting (soil scientists), environmental monitoring, overseeing the siting, exploration, and development of community/ commercial water supply sources; environmental training/ professional training courses, and other environmental services.

Just for Fun September 19, 2018 - We also hold our golf event starting at 9:00 a.m. and finishing up around 2:00 p.m. The golf event is expected to be lots of fun and includes both breakfast & lunch plus prizes & awards

September 19 2018 - Join us at 6:30 p.m. for our famous welcome reception in the Exhibit area with food and a no-host bar with exhibitors on the exhibit floor. This is a major EWQA hit so don’t miss it.

September 20, 2018 - The EWQA keynote address from on what is going on with the National WQA will be presented by Greg Reyneke of Red Fox Consultants and David Loveday of the WQA

Enjoy lunch with exhibitors and manufacturer reps, entertain at the no-host bar and top the day off with great food at the banquet. Following the banquet, we will have our annual auction. This year promises some pretty cool auction items you would normally not expect, so expect to take something home.

September 21, 2018 - Our members breakfast will be held from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. This is a great time to get to know your exhibitors. A select group of exhibitors will be holding round-table discussions on topics pertinent to the industry. ( Continuing education credits may apply – information to come).

The nearest major airport is Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport (AVP / KAVP). This

airport has domestic flights from Scranton, Pennsylvania and is 39 miles from the center of

Pocono Manor, PA. Another major airport is Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE / KABE),

2018 EWQA Conference & Trade ShowKalahari Resort - Pocono Manor, PA The Undersigned Firm, Referred To Hereinafter As “Exhibitor,” Agrees As Follows:

1. EWQA will provide exhibit space and facilities in its 2018 Exhibition as described in the Exhibitor Information sheet and Application for Space.

2. Exhibitor understands that there are other charges for electrical power, special decorations, shipping and storage handling, which charges will be delineated in information provided by the Decorator.

3. Exhibitor will abide by the rules and regulations of EWQA as described and referenced in the 2018 Exhibit information.

4. Exhibitor will accept space assignment other than choices indicated in the event said choices are not available or are in conflict with previously assigned adjacent exhibits. EWQA reserves the right to move an Exhibitor to improve the appearance of the show.

5. Exhibitor may, if he desires, cancel the agreement and receive a refund less a service charge of $100.00, if written request is made by August 1, 2018.

6. Kalahari Resort in Pocono Manor, PA and/or EWQA shall not be liable to the Exhibitor for any damage to, or loss or destruction of, an exhibit or property of the Exhibitor by fire or other casualty, whether caused by negligence of Kalahari Resort in Pocono Manor, PA or EWQA, their officers, agents, employees or otherwise.

7. Exhibitor assumes the entire responsibility and the liability for losses, damages and claims arising out of injury or damage to exhibitor’s displays, equipment and other property brought upon the premises of the hotel, and shall indemnify and hold harmless Kalahari Resort in Pocono Manor, PA and the Eastern Water Quality Association, and any authorized representative, agent or employee of the foregoing of any and all losses, damages and claims.

8. Exhibitors or their agents shall not injure or deface the walls or carpets of the building, the booths or the equipment of the booths. Exhibitors are forbidden to drive tacks, nails or screws into the walls or woodwork. When such damage appears, the Exhibitor is liable to the owner of the property so damaged.

9. EWQA reserves the right to refuse any exhibit or Exhibitor and further reserves the right to shut down any exhibit for breach of this agreement or for cause, in which event EWQA is liable only to the extent of refunding the exhibit fee.

EWQA Scholarship Program CRITERIA

2018 EWQA Conference & Trade ShowKalahari Resort - Pocono Manor, PA The $1,000 non-renewable, EWQA

Scholarship Program assists deserving students living within the membership area of EWQA (mid-Atlantic region), who are planning to study in a field related to the water treatment industry.

The student must provide proof of enrollment in an institution of higher education such as technical training, community college, Jr. College, University or the Water Quality Association’s various training and certification programs.

The Scholarship is based on academic achievement, community service, demonstrated leadership and potential contributions to the water treatment industry.

EWQA MEMBER COMPANY NOMINATIONSEWQA Member Companies are encouraged to nominate students enrolled in a field of study leading to a career in the water treatment industry. Member companies may nominate employees, relatives of employees and other deserving individuals. Letters of recommendation from EWQA Member companies, teachers and leading civic leaders etc. are also accepted.

Additionally, all scholarship applicants will receive a free EWQA membership while the student is in enrolled in an approved program.
