FINALS NIGHT. THIS IS THE FINAL QUALIFYING SHOW FOR THE 2017/18 TRIPLE CROWN. ENTRIES CLOSE FRIDAY, 8TH OF

Reduced entry fees: Reduced entry fees will apply to
Financial Members of the NSW Arabian Horse
Association Inc. only (not the Arabian Horse Society of
Australia Ltd). If you are not a financial member of the
Association, you can join or renew each year from the
1st July. Please note that our membership year
runs from 1st July to 30 th June . If you wish to join
at this time of year, please send the membership fees
and application form separately BEFORE sending in
your entries.
Stabling: The cost of stabling will be as follows (GST
Inclusive): Stable Fee $30.00 per day (or part thereof);
Bedding: Shavings $15.00 per small bag ordered with
entries or $14.50 for large bags ordered from Pegasus
Stockfeeds. Phone 02 9652 0291. Stable Bond:
$77.00 per stable payable on each stable, which is
refundable when the stable is inspected, found to be
completely empty and a “Passed Stable Bond” slip is
provided to the committee. Stabling days are worked
out as starting from 5pm the night before i.e. if you
need a stable for Thursday & Friday the starting time is
5pm on Wednesday night until 5pm on Friday night.
Please note straw will not be provided, although if
competitors prefer to have straw they are welcome to
arrange delivery themselves. Small Bags of shavings
purchased at the show will be charged at $25.00
per bag or $14.50 for large bags if ordered from
Pegasus Stockfeeds on 02 9652 0291
Day Parking Fee: There is a day parking fee for
those competitors working out of their floats at a cost
of $10.00 per horse per day (GST Inclusive). Day
parking will be in the North Truck area, and toilets are
available in this area.
Camping: There are 2 types of accommodation
available at Horsley Park:- Powered Camp Sites (for
tents, caravans, floats or trucks – supplied by the
exhibitor) at $30.00 per night or the Demountable
Cabins at $50.00 per night (prices include GST).
Bookings must be made on entries and accompanied
by full payment. No phone bookings will be taken.
Pending Registrations: All horses entered MUST be
registered with the Arabian Horse Society of Australia
with correct registration numbers available at the
closing date of entries. All horses entered without
registration numbers MUST provide these registration
numbers prior to the printing of the catalogue. Failure
to comply will make the horse ineligible to compete.
Pending registrations at the close of cataloguing will
NOT be accepted and no refund of entries will be given
for such horses.
Timetable of Events: The Timetable will be available
for downloading from the Association website
(www.nswarabian.org.au) approximately 2 weeks prior
to the commencement of the show. The starting times
in the timetable are final and will only be changed if a
ring is running late. No class will start ahead of the
advised time. EVERY EFFORT WILL BE MADE TO RUN
THE CLASSES AS ADVISED IN THE SCHEDULE. IN
THE EVENT OF ENTRIES EXCEEDING PREVIOUS
YEAR’S NUMBERS, SOME EVENTS MAY NEED TO BE
MOVED TO ANOTHER DAY TO ACCOMMODATE
NUMBER OF ENTRIES. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED
IF THIS IS THE CASE.
Show Office: Opening times: Tuesday 3pm to 7pm.
Wed/Thu/Fri/Sat 6.30am to 10am, then 12.30pm to
5pm.
Exhibit Numbers: A charge of $3.00 per exhibit number
(GST Inclusive) must be paid with entry fees. Numbers to
be collected from the show office during the hours listed
above. EXHIBITORS NOT WEARING THE CORRECT
EXHIBIT NUMBER AS PER THE CATALOGUE WILL NOT BE
JUDGED.
GENERAL RULES & CONDITIONS Please
Read Carefully
The East Coast Arabian Championships are
conducted under the rules of the Arabian Horse
Society of Australia Limited (AHSA), together with
the rules and definitions printed in this Schedule.
Copies of the current AHSA Rule Book are available
from the AHSA website. Closing date of entries is
Friday 8th December 2017. Entries can only
be made via www.nominate.com.au
Late entries will still be accepted until
Friday 15th December, 2017 at twice the
class price. Please note these entries will
not be catalogued.
THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS OF ENTRIES
after the closing date.

Committee Accepts No Responsibility: It is the
owner’s responsibility to protect property as the
Committee shall not be liable to any person in case
of loss or damage by reason of any defect, accident,
negligence or neglect, however arising.
Awards: All Classes will be awarded Champion,
Reserve Champion and 3 x Top 5 equal placings
Dividing or Combining of Classes: Should entries
warrant, classes may be divided according to height,
gender or date of birth, at the committee’s discretion.
At the closing date of entries should numbers in
classes be insufficient, classes may be combined at
the committee’s discretion. In the case of a
Performance Class no more than 12 horses will be on
the circle at any one time.
Purebred Halter classes: Will be judged on Saturday.
Exhibitors Please Note: No exhibitors will be
permitted to enter the ring once the Marshall has
closed the ring (handed the ring card over to the
steward).
Young Horse Saddle Classes are open to horses 3 &
4 years of age ONLY and must be ridden in a snaffle
bit. These classes are open to registered Purebred
Arabians and Derivative Breeds ONLY. 4 year old
horses entered in this class are NOT eligible for entry
into the East Coast Cups. Maximum of 3 horse/rider
combinations, however all horses must have a
suitably attired and capable rider at all times. No
horses are to be presented before the judge
unmounted.
Open Saddle Horse Championships are classes for
horses 4 years & over as at 1st August 2017
East Coast Cup Saddle Awards are for horses 4 years
and over as at 1st August 2017. These classes are open to
registered Purebred Arabians and Derivative Breeds
ONLY. Horses are to be presented and ridden as Open
Hacks ie. English riding attire, including gloves,
Weymouth Bridles (no Pelham or rugby Pelham
bits), plaits (no running plaits) and English Saddle
essential. Hacking canes and spurs optional, no dressage
whips permitted. HORSES ARE TO BE JUDGED AS OPEN
HACKS. Please note, horses entered in the Young Horse
Saddle Classes are ineligible to compete in this event.
Maximum of 3 horse/rider combinations,
however all horses must have a suitably attired
and capable rider at all times. No horses are to be
presented before the judge unmounted.
SHIRANNA SASH SENIOR RIDDEN – Ridden classes to
be judged by a National AHSA Panel Judge. For Arabian
Derivatives who carry a minimum of 50% Arabian blood as
stated on the AHSA Stud Book. Over the age of 4 years. A
garland sponsored by Shiranna Garlands for the winner with
sashes provided to 6th place by the NSW AHA.
NEWCOMER classes are open to horses from 3yrs of age
that have not previously been shown/or competed on under
saddle prior to 1st January 2018. These horses must be
ridden in a snaffle. This includes Dressage, Adult
Riding Club and Pony club competitions.
Bridle Path Hacks To be judged 80% performance
and manners and 20% condition and conformation.
Horses will be judged at the walk, trot and canter in
both directions on the ring and will be asked to back.
Riders are not required to look over their shoulder
before backing. The judge may ask for extensions.
There are no individual workouts. Gloves are optional
but preferred. English type spurs, rowelled or
dummy are permitted, as are hacking canes with or
without flappers. Riding crops are only permitted for
riders 12 years and under, not permitted for riders
over 12 years. Top hat and tails not permitted.
Regulation snaffle bridles with dropped/Hanoverian
or cavesson nosebands, Rugby pelhams and Spanish
snaffles with cavesson nosebands and Pelham and
full Weymouth bridles (bit and bradoon) with
cavesson nosebands are all permitted. Curb chains
with lip strap - curb chain covers are optional. Refer
to AHSA Rule Book
Costume AHSA Ltd Rules apply as AHSA Rule Book. To
be judged 50% for costume and 50% horse’s manners
and paces. Trappings must not hang below the knees or
hocks of the horse. All youth competitors in costume
MUST wear approved safety helmets and boots with their
costumes.
Show Hunter Classes Horses competing in this section
may also compete in other sections of the show. To be judged according to AHSA Rule Book.
Sidesaddle Horses must be ridden by a female and
are judged as for lady’s hack. Before classes are to be
judged, a gear check should be made by the Judge if
necessary. Check for: Safety stirrup, surcingle
(balance girth) and that the girth is safe and fitted
correctly. All saddles must have a safety stirrup.
All youth competitors MUST wear approved safety
helmet. Refer to the AHSA Rule Book.
Western Pleasure To be judged 70% on
performance & manners, 30% on conformation,
quality and presentation. Horses will be shown both
ways on the ring at the walk, jog & lope on a
reasonably loose rein. Individual workouts are not
required. Refer to the AHSA Rule Book.

Harness To be judged according to the AHSA Rule
Book.
Working Stockhorse To be judged 80% pattern
work and 20% ability of rider and appointments and
workout according to the AHSA Rule Book
Classic/Best Head & Trot Classes: Winners of
Classic/Best Head & Trot classes are not eligible
for their respective age Championships.
Colts/Stallions: No Colt or Stallion is permitted to be
handled/ridden/driven by persons under 18 years of
age.
Swabbing: Random Swabbing of any exhibit
competing at the show may be required at the
discretion of the Committee or the presiding judge. It is
a condition of entry of the show that permission be
given by the registered owner for all or any exhibits
entered to be swabbed by a qualified veterinarian
should the Committeee or presiding judge so request.
Twilight Finals Tickets: Admission tickets for the
Twilight Finals can be purchased from the show office
( throughout the show or up to midday Saturday) or
from the front gate on Saturday evening. Cost per ticket
is $15.00 for Adults or $10.00 for Children 5 – 12
years (GST inclusive). Please note – there will NOT
be any free exhibitors’ passes available. Anyone
entering the grounds from Saturday morning will
be required to show finals night tickets or
purchase one at the gate.
Conduct of Exhibitors: No exhibitor may leave the
judging area until directed by the ring stewards. Use of
noise making devices, ie rattles, in the marshalling area
are not permitted. Excessive use of whips will not be
tolerated. Lunging of horses in the marshalling area or on
entry into the ring is not permitted. Any person found
setting off fire alarm or tampering with fire
hoses/hydrants will be liable for a fine of $1,000.00.
Code of Behaviour Card System A card system will
be used at this year’s show to deter types of
behaviour (Reportable Conduct) wherever occurring
on the grounds and at any times during the show
including events. As per the Arabian Horse Society of
Australia rule book. Outside of an event at the
Committee’s discretion.
Photographers Our invited photographers are
Foxwood, Samantha Taylor and Nicky B photography.
We request that any other photographers who would
like to attend this show please apply for a media pass
by emailing our Secretary
([email protected]) and advising the
purpose of attending, which classes you would like to
photograph and what publications (if any) you will be
submitting your photos to. Your application will then be
taken to the next monthly committee meeting for
discussion and a decision as to whether a media pass
will be issued or declined.
Use of Buggies at SIEC Anyone driving golf carts or
buggies during the show at SIEC, must sign a waiver
with SIEC Management staff and be issued a
wristband BEFORE they can drive such vehicles. All
drivers must be licensed drivers and adhere to public
road rules where applicable. No golf cart and/or
buggy can be driven after dusk. No intoxicated
persons can drive golf carts and/or buggies. As the
roads through SIEC are public roads, the Police will be
randomly patrolling these roads during our event. Only
the stable warden buggy will be allowed access to the
stable area.
Dressage Horses or ponies may not be ridden by
more than one rider. You can enter as many tests as
you wish. Test levels must be consecutive. Horses with
60 or more grading points cannot compete at a lower
level. Sashes to 6th place. Champions will be eligible for
Triple Crown.
TRIPLE CROWN – Please note to be eligible
for a triple crown you must be a current
financial member of NSW AHA and have won the same class and proceeded on to win
champion at NSW AHA State Titles AND National Arabian Stud Horse Show AND East
Coast Arabian Championships. A minimum of 3 horses competing per section is required to be
considered for a triple crown. Breed Halter,
ridden classes and dressage are eligible.
Dressage Triple Crown contenders:
Please note that Purebreds and Derivatives
have been combined in tests from Elementary to Advanced. Champion will be awarded to
BOTH the first placed purebred and the first placed derivative regardless of final placing in
the overall test. This will ensure all dressage
competitors will remain eligible for their Triple Crown. One Reserve and placings to 6th will be
issued on overall section results. Eligible Triple Crown contenders will be notified prior to
closing date of entries. BODY GREASE – Any horse/s that appears to have any
form of body grease substance applied to their coat, face
makeup excluded, will be prohibited from exhibiting in any
classes at this Show.
NO DOG POLICY – No dogs will be allowed on SIEC
grounds during this event. Dogs and owners will be asked to
leave the grounds.
ASSOCIATE RIDERS (18 to 25 years). Riders competing in
this section can be either non pro or professional. This
category is open to riders that are 18 years and up to 25
years of age.

Hot weather policy: In the event of extreme hot
temperatures, please refer to the EA website for guidelines
and their hot weather policy.
NON PRO CLASSES
The NON PRO rule applies to persons of any age. A NON PRO
is a person who regardless of his/her equestrian skills and/or
accomplishments, in the last 3 years has not accepted any
remuneration (money) for services usually provided by a
professional in the areas of breaking, riding, training,
schooling, driving, halter preparation, showing in halter or
under saddle. Any competitor that receives financial
remuneration (money) for showing another person’s horse
within 3 years prior to the event would not be eligible for
NON PRO classes. NON PRO CLASSES – As from January
1st 2015 Amateur Classes have been changed to Non
Pro. You will have to fill out the Non Pro form
attached to the Entry forms. (in accordance with the
AHSA ruling)
PRIZEMONEY- Prizemoney Cheques will be made payable
to the registered owner of the winning exhibit. All
prizemoney will be paid at the show.
FIRST RIDDEN CLASSES IN THE YOUTH RING:
These are normally for small ponies up to 12.2h and for riders
5 years and under 12 years; however being an Arabian show
we have opened these classes up to ponies, galloways and
hacks (split into these heights), and riders from 5yrs to 17
years. Horses must be ridden in a snaffle bit, and are judged
on suitability as an “off the lead” mount. Cavesson nosebands
only, a narrow strap or “monkey grip” is allowed to be
attached to the front of the saddle. Cane not to exceed 40 cm
and no spurs permitted. No Cantering is allowed on the ring,
however a short canter is allowed during the workout. These
horses must possess excellent manners and provide their
youth riders with an experience that instils confidence.
Championship Rugs are awarded for major derivative
halter classes, major derivative saddle classes, Show
hunter ,Bridle Path Hack and major purebred saddle
classes. A voucher will be handed out to each
championship class winner. If your class is lucky
enough to be sponsored, then you will receive an
embroidered rug with the sponsors name on it.
Sponsorship for these embroidered rugs is $100 per
class. Be quick to pay and secure sponsorship for your
favourite class.

Workout to be in harmony with the chosen music. Walk, trot,
lengthen trot, canter (both left and right) and a clear halt in
front of the judge all need to be shown. Open to purebred
Arabians, Derivative Breeds and API index horses.
Competitors may choose from Dressage, Hack, Western,
Stockhorse, Side saddle or Fancy Dress Attire. This attire needs
to be appropriate to the style of riding chosen.

Workout will be a maximum of 3 mins. This class will
be timetabled. Need to show 3 clear paces. Music to
be on USB or CD and CLEARLY LABELLED with your
name, horses name and your time. This class will NOT
be judged as a hack class. To be handed in on
Thursday 25thJanuary before 10am to the Secretary.

THE ASA AWARD CHALLENGE
THE ANNA SHAW ART AWARDS for the
most successful Non-Pro Owner/exhibitor in
both a specific ASA Led and a specific ASA
Ridden classes (The “ASA AWARD” is
sponsored IN CONJUNCTION WITH Mr. Greg
Liddle,co- sponsor) These awards will be presented at the subsequent
East Coast Arabian Championships. The Saddle ASA
award will be presented on the Saddle finals on
Friday night, and the Halter ASA Award will be
presented on Halter finals on Saturday night at the
East Coast Arabian Championships. Each winner will
receive an Artwork kindly donated by Anna Shaw Art,
and a Special Sash and Rug kindly donated by Mr.
Greg Liddle. Eligibility for these awards:*Open to all
registered Purebred Arabians and Derivatives that
are exhibited by their non pro registered
owners/lessees in the specific ASA challenge class.
Horses are immediately ineligible for this award if
they are exhibited by a professional, either in hand
or under saddle at any NSW AHA Event. *Horses
must be shown by the non pro owner/lessee whose
name appears on the registration papers to be
eligible. Where horses are registered in a family
name, any family member may exhibit them. Horses
cannot be in professional training for 3 months prior
to each eligible NSW AHA event; however Horses and
non pro owners/lessees may attend clinics and
lessons though.*Points will only be accrued from the
ASA Award classes at Frost Festival, East Coast , State
Titles and National Stud horse show run by the NSW
AHA. Awards will run to 5th place for each led and
ridden section.*Non-pro exhibitors/owners will be
required to sign the regular non-pro statutory
declaration plus also sign an extra statutory
declaration regarding the horse and its exposure to
professional training three months prior to the
show's commencement date.*Commencing from the
new competition period at the East Coast 2018;
previous winning combinations in the SAME section
are ineligible to compete for the next 2 years. i.e. if
the same horse and handler win the LED section,
they are still eligible to compete in the RIDDEN and
vice versa
