The Australian Centre for Holistic Studies (ACHS) provides unique, holistic and life-enhancing courses that develop meditation skills on both a personal and professional level; to lead others we must first start with ourselves.

All our courses are available online with face to face options in highly supported formats that include one on one written and Skype coaching and online group interaction for all students. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality courses that are easy to access and understand even if you haven’t studied for a while. Our courses are thorough, professionally delivered and well researched with wide scope for further reading. Although this is primarily an online course, students have optional face to face training opportunities through our Master-classes and retreats.

At ACHS our coaches wholeheartedly believe in their work and walk their talk. Our work is a complete joy to us and this comes through in how we interact with our students. You will love the outstanding quality of support, care and encouragement that you receive whilst studying with us.

Principal Lisa Forde has originated well rounded, accessible and easy to follow programs that make learning and practising meditation enjoyable. You will look forward to coming home to your meditations and course work each time you study. She has woven into the course an authentic sense of magic and wonder that will light the inspiration flame and help keep students motivated to the end.

We encourage students to blend their existing skills with the new skills they develop in this course. We nurture students on their journey to develop a unique expression of their passion and purpose so that their career outcome will be abundant, productive and fulfilling.

Courses that are interactive and practical: Our courses offer teachings that have been compiled over 15 years of research and development.

Lisa has brought together psychology, science, holistic living counselling, inner work, breathing

techniques, relaxation techniques, visualization, sound meditation, moving meditation, mindfulness

and the work of experts in the field to bring you a comprehensive and practical curriculum.

The spiritual element in our courses is light and non-denominational. Alongside a variety of

meditation, teaching and group facilitation skills, we teach you to create guided meditations

with or without a script and to create your own meditation programs. You learn how

to write your own meditations across a variety of dif ferent practices. This means you

have an infinite bank of meditations to cal l on for any occasion or style of group

you may want to run. You can customize meditations for specific goals or issues E.g. corporate

relaxation, support groups, hospitals, community groups etc. You will be able to respond to the

needs presented to you by the group; providing leadership in whatever style of meditation is

appropriate, without prior preparation. This level of facilitation requires in depth and focussed

training, which is what we provide. Support for bui lding your regular personal meditation

practice on a week by week bas is is a lso built into the course.

At ACHS our teaching style is hol ist ic, highly interactive and practical. So even if you

haven’t studied for a while, this kind of training is achievable and fun. We encourage you to apply

the learning to your own life first which brings great depth to your study experience. After the

completion of each unit you receive written feedback as well as l ive discussion with

your coach. This one-on-one style tuit ion applies to every unit and elective and

allows you to progress through the course with maximum support. Each unit or elective

involves approximately 20 hrs study and is a mix of exercises that are very practical in nature. At a

minimum you would need 4-5 hrs a week of study time. The more hours you put in the quicker you

progress.

Connect with other students and graduates in your area and around Australia on our private

students and graduates forum. You will have all questions answered quickly from a very friendly

group and you will really feel part of a community. Email support is also available at any time from

your personal coach and regular skype meetings. There are several opportunities throughout the

year to attend Master-classes and our Retreat.

In this elective, you will be guided on a journey with the Mindfulness Masters and introduced to a variety of ways that Mindfulness can enhance your life.

In addition you will be taken on a practical and personal journey through the tenets of Buddhist psychology and begin to apply them in your own life and teaching.

Mindfulness and Buddhist Psychology - very popular

Take a deeper journey into the world of mindfulness and learn from the masters.

o Prerequisite Session 4. o Textbook purchase required.

There is a good reason that Mindfulness is such a popular form of meditation. It works very well and has its roots in ancient Buddhist practices that evolved over thousands of years.

I feel so much in line with this philosophy and wish I had studied it many years earlier. It’s teachings

of gentleness, compassion and wisdom are so important. Doing this elective has made other

aspects of the meditation course clearer and put them into perspective. After this introduction I am

on a journey to learn more and embrace this philosophy in my life. Thank you very very much –

Irene

“The Mindfulness and Buddhist Psychology Elective was such a rich, in-depth experience. I really

loved making my way through this elective, furthering my understanding of Mindfulness and

learning about all the Buddhist teachings and practices. I enjoyed savouring and soaking up all of its

goodness as I went. A highlight was exploring loving-kindness, becoming more familiar with it in my

personal practice, along with listening to Julie’s beautifully guided track. Overall it was a heart

warming experience and I look forward to exploring more going forward.” - Natalie

I really found the information to be invaluable. I loved meeting the coaches, the beautiful meditations that were led by Lisa and Julie, the sound healing and more. “I've always been a deep feeling, empathic and sensitive person and I have experienced my fair

share of life challenges. Meditation for me has always been a refuge - a gentle and powerful way to

cultivate more self-awareness, acceptance and compassion for myself, especially during difficult

times. I have to come to know meditation as the most effective approach for developing a

nourishing and nurturing relationship with myself which ultimately benefits all my relationships with

others. I'm deeply grateful that in my work as a meditation facilitator and ACHS coach I have the

opportunity to support others to do the same."
