Physicians may also refer patients they see in their offices. The West Georgia Home Care team provides a variety of services including skilled nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, infusion therapy and pediatric home care. They also offer telehealth services, which monitor the patients’ vital health signs to determine if any changes require immediate action. This allows patients to have more control over their health and eliminate unnecessary visits to the doctor or the Emergency Room. Telehealth is particularly helpful in manage chronic conditions such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Chronic Heart Failure (CHF), diabetes and epilepsy. Hospice LaGrange, which is staffed with nurses 24/7, has no restrictions on visiting hours and each room has chairs that fold out into beds allowing family and friends to stay overnight. It also has a meditation and solace room, as gazebo, garden and walking path. West Georgia Hospice also provides respite care for their hospice patients who have family members or caregivers who need a short break from caring for their loved one at home.
