“Music allows me to express myself in a way that I normally wouldn’t be able to. It has gotten me through many rough times and has helped me become who I am today. I have learned so much through and from music, and would be lost without it!” . . . Leah

has been a part of Special Performance Group 1 here at theUptown Music Collective for three years now. She is thirteen years old and is in 8th grade at Lewisburg Area Middle School.

Leah has been a student here at the Collective for four years now. She takes voice lessons through vocal and beginner guitar instructor, Mallory Scoppa.

She has been in Community Performance Groups, Backbeatz, and 8traxs and is currently in The Acoustic Group (the band name is currently being decided.)

She has been in 7 SPG1 performances to date - Permanent waves, King of pop, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust,Life in the Fast Lane, Women of Rock, Southbound, and Generation Grunge.

Her favorite performances so far have been: King of Pop, Ziggy Stardust, and Women of rock.

Leah is singing lead and background vocals in this year’s performance season!

This is Billy’s first year in SPG1 at the Uptown Music Collective. He is fifteen years old and is a freshman at Danville High School.

Billy has been a student here at the Collective for about half a year. He takes drum lessons through drum instructor, Adam Westover. He has participated in this past years Blues-A-Thon, Student Showcase, and The Little League World Series Performance.

His favorite performance so far has been: The Little League World Series Performance.

He is playing the drums and other percussion instruments in this year’s performance season!

Tate berkeyhas been a part of Special Performance Group 1 here at the Uptown Music Collective for four years now. He is seventeen years old and is a senior at Danville High School.

Tate has been a student here at the Collective for six years now. He takes drum lessons through drum instructor, Bobby Leidhecker. He has been involved in three Community Performance Groups; Blue Envy, 70s Threshold, and is currently in The 3rd Street Blues Band.

He has been in 14 SPG1 performances to date - Shine, Motown: From Detroit to LA, Woodstock, Family Tradition, Rumors and Other Stories: Fleet-wood Mac, Hammer of the Gods: Led Zeppelin, Permanant Waves: Rush, HIStory: Michael Jackson, Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust: David Bowie, Life In The Fast Lane: The Eagles, Women of Rock: Heart & Pat Benatar, Southbound, UMC Unplugged: Generation Grunge, and Gimme Shelter: Rolling Stones.

His favorite performance so far has been Permanant Waves: The Music of Rush.

Tate is the lead drummer (1st chair) in spg1 and he will be playing otherpercussion instruments as well.

has been a part of Special Performance Group 1 here at the Uptown Music Collective for two years now. She is sixteen years old and is a junior at Williamsport Area High School.

Ashlyn has been a student here at the Collective for six years now. She takes keyboard lessons through keyboard instructor, Grahm Dion. She also takes voice lessons through vocal instructor, Stacia Abernatha. She is currently in Community Performance Group, Sonic Wall Party.

She has been in 4 SPG1 performances to date - Woman of Rock, Southbound, UMC Unplugged Tribute to Grunge, and Gimme Shelter. Her favorite performances so far have been: Southbound: A Tribute to Southern Rock!

Ashlyn will be singing lead and background vocals as well as playing keyboard & piano in this year’s performance season!

“Music is so important in my life. I have always loved to play piano, sing, write music, and try as many things out as I could. Music has been a way I can express myself and put my feelings/personal emotions into my music. I love to perform and meet other musicians. .” . . . Ashlyn

Ian bowesThis is Ian’s first year in SPG1 at the Uptown Music Collective. He is fifteen years old and is a sophomore at Loyalsock Township High School.

Ian has been a student here at the Collective for three years now. He takes drum lessons through drum instructor, Jesse Roedts.

He has been involved in SPG2 performances.

Ian will be playing drums and other percussion instruments in this years performance season!

Izzy brumbaugh

has been a part of Special Performance Group 1 here at the Uptown Music Collective for six years now. She is fifteen years old and is a sophomore at Williamsport Area High School.

Izzy has been a student here at the Collective for nine years now. She takes keyboard lessons through keyboard & piano instructor, Grahm Dion.

She is currently in the Community Performance Group, 3rd Street Blues Band.

She has been in 24 SPG1 performances to date!!!

Her favorite performance so far has been Women of Rock: Heart & Pat Benatar.

Izzy is the lead keyboardist (1st chair) in spg1 and she will be playing keyboard & piano in this year’s performance season!

alexis carnevalehas been a part of Special Performance Group 1 here at the Uptown Music Collective for 7 years now. She is seventeen years old and is a senior at Williamsport Area High School.

Alexis has been a student here at the Collective for six years now. She takes voice lessons through vocal and beginner guitar instructor, Mallory Scoppa.

She has been in two Community Performance Groups; Urban Souls, and 70’s Threshold.

She has been in more than 15 SPG1 performances to date - Jagged Little Pill, The Night of the Living Dead II: The Twilight Zone, Women of Rock, King of Pop: HIStory, etc...

Her favorite performances so far have been: Women of Rock and King of Pop: HIStory.

Alexis will be singing lead and background vocals in this year’s performance season.

He has been in Community Performance Groups, 8 Traxs, and iscurrently in the new rock group (the band name is currently being decided.)

He has been in 4 SPG1 performances to date - Voices Rising, Southbound, Motown Tribute, and the Little League Performance.

His favorite performance so far has been Southbound: A Tribute to Southern Rock.

Dominic will be playing lead and rhythm guitar as well as singing lead and background vocals in this year’s performance season.

Gabreon godin

has been a part of Special Performance Group 1 here at the Uptown Music Collective for two years now. He is thirteen years old and is in 7th grade at Williamsport Area Middle School.

Gabreon has been a student here at the Collective for five years now. He takes guitar lessons through Dave Brumbaugh, Executive Director, and guitar instructor.

He is currently in a new Community Performance Group this year, The Rock Group (the band name is currently being decided.)

Gabreon will be playing lead and rhythm guitar in this year’s performance season!

Andrew headhas been a part of Special Performance Group 1 here at the Uptown Music Collective for three years now. He is fifteen years old and is a sophomore at Montoursville Area High School.

Andrew has been a student here at the Collective for five years now taking bass lessons.

He has been in Community Performance Groups, Backbeatz and is currently is Sonic Wall Party.

He has been in 9 SPG1 performances to date - Outlaw Country, Rush, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, The Eagles, Women of Rock, Southbound, Grunge Unplugged, and Gimme Shelter: The Rolling Stones.

His favorite performance so far has been: Gimme Shelter: The Rolling Stones.

Andrew is the lead bassist (1st chair) in spg1 and will be playing bass guitar in this year’s performance season.

“Music is a get away for me. School and a lot of things in life are very stressful and the fun of music takes me away from all of that. My favorite thing about music is the story behind most of the songs. The Collective is more than a music school to me, it’s a family. Everyone here is so nice and amazing, it really is like a family. This is why it’s my favorite thing about the Collective.” . . . Andrew

This is Anthony’s first year in SPG1 at the Uptown Music Collective. He is fourteen years old and is a freshman at Loyalsock Township High School.

Cece has been a student here at the Collective for eight years now. She takes voice lessons through Mallory Scoppa, vocal and beginner guitar instructor. She has been in Community Performance Group, Backbeatz and is currently in Sonic Wall Party and Indi Groove.

She has been in 10 SPG1 performances to date - Permanent Waves, King of Pop: HIStory, Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, Life In The Fast Lane, Women of Rock, Southbound, Generation Grunge, and Gimme Shelter.

Her favorite performance so far has been Generation Grunge.

Cece will be singing lead and background vocals in this year’s performance season.

“Music is my passion. It is my outlet for everything in life. I’m a person who needs to be creative everyday to be happy and music has given me the opportunity to do so. I have grown and found myself through music and will continue too. My favorite thing about the Collective is, it has taught me to be myself. I have learned confidence, discipline, commitment, time management, and so many more skills I will forever apply in my life. I’m thankful for the opportunities the Collective has given me and for picking me up when I’m at some of the lowest points in my life.” . . . Cece

kellen mills

This is Kellen’s first year in SPG1 at the Uptown Music Collective. He is eighteen years old and is a senior at Danville Area High School.

Kellen has been a student here at the Collective for two years now. He takes guitar lessons through guitar instructor Willi Ort.

He has been in SPG2 performances including Voices Rising.

His favorite shows that the Collective has performed are Southbound or Rush.

Kellen will be playing lead and rhythm guitar in this year’s performance season!

“I enjoy learning new things on my instrument, there is so much to learn. I enjoy always striving to be the best I can be, never settling for okay. The collective has taught me dedication, discipline, and commitment. These things were difficult to learn at first.” . . . Kellen

Cade palmat ierhas been a part of Special Performance Group 1 here at the Uptown Music Collective for seven years now. He is sixteen years old and is a junior at Jersey Shore High School.

Cade has been a student here at the Collective for ten years now. He takes guitar lessons through Dave Brumbaugh, Executive Director, and guitar instructor.

He has been in Community Performance Groups, Urban Souls, Just Jazz,Outta-Hand Bluegrass Band and he is currently in 3rd Street Blues Band.

He has been in 30 SPG1 performances to date - Rhythm Nation, Night of the Living Dead: 27 Club, Purple Heart Project, Jagged Little Pill, The Wall, Hot Fun in the Summertime, Saturday Night’s Alright, Family Tradition, Fleetwood Mac, Babel, David Bowie, Hammer of the Gods, Shine, On and On, The Eagles, Permanent Waves, Southbound, Woodstock, The Beatles, Generation Grunge, Heart and Pat Benatar, Blue In Green, Rolling Stones, Night of the Living Dead: Twilight Zone, Orchestral Rock Project 2, Motown: From Detroit to LA, King of Pop, and Hunger Strike.

His favorite performance so far has been the Rise & Fall of Ziggy Stardust.

Cade is the lead guitarist (1st chair) in spg1 and he will be playing lead and rhythm guitar and bass.

gavin PaulhamusThis is Gavin’s first year in SPG1 at the Uptown Music Collective. He is fifteen years old and is a sophomore at Hughesville High School.

Gavin has been a student here at the Collective for two years now. He takes guitar lessons through Dave Brumbaugh, Executive Director, and guitar instructor.

He has been in 2 SPG1 performances to date - Southbound and Gimme Shelter: A Tribute to the Rolling Stones.

His favorite performance so far has been Southbound: A Tribute to Southern Rock.

Gavin will be playing lead and rhythm guitar in this year’s performance season!

“Music means a ton to me. It is just such a beautiful thing to be able to listen to someone’s passion through another form besides hearing them talk. They can express their life experiences and emotions through singing and playing guitar or any of the beautiful instruments in the world. Anytime I have free time I am pretty much always listening or playing music. One of my favorite bands is Queens of the Stoneage, and I just love to listen to their enthusiasm and just the pure fun they are having when they are playing. All in all, I love music because of the feelings I get when listening to music. The Collective is a place for me to play good music with friends. It isn’t anything like a garage band where you just show up and have fun and the music isn’t always that great. Being able to play and learn from a bunch of experienced musicians is a great experience and I don’t think there is much like this in the world for kids.” . . . Gavin

Sofia pinsky

This is Sofia’s first year in SPG1 at the Uptown Music Collective. She is sixteen years old and is a junior at Loyalsock Township High School.

Sofia has been a student here at the Collective for three years now. She takes voice lessons through vocal and beginner guitar instructor, Mallory Scoppa.

She is currently in Community Performance Groups, Indi Groove and the Acoustic Group (the band name is currently being decided.)

She has been in SPG2 performances including, Even Flow Tribute to Grunge, and the Spg2 Christmas show.

Sofia will be singing lead and background vocals in this year’s performance season!

Julia has been a student here at the Collective for five years now. She takes guitar lessons through Dave Brumbaugh, Executive Director, and guitar instructor and also voice lessons through vocal instructor, Stacia Abernatha.

Maren snow

This is Maren’s first year in SPG1 at the Uptown Music Collective. She is fifteen years old and is a sophomore at Lewisburg Area High School.

Eli will be playing lead and rhythm guitar, as well as bass guitar in this year’s performance season.

“Music gives me an outlet to express myself. It’s one of the first things I’ve really loved. Before I got involved in music, I wasn’t really serious about anything. But music changed that for me. The opportunity to play, and to play In front of an audience at that, has changed me as a person for the better.” I’ve had nothing but an amazing time at the Collective. The school has helped me realize my love for music. It has significantly help shape me into the person I am now. I would recommend it to anyone with even a slight interest in music. It has done wonders for me and I know I’m not alone.” . . . Eli
