A core group of 9 “Regulars” contributed over 3,200 hours (46%) on Habitat build sites last year. Regular volunteers bring a wide variety of skills and knowledge to our build sites. They also increase our capacity to lead other volunteers, including corporate groups and team builds. This year’s Regulars include: Al Carriere (652), Lanny Massey (595), Ken Wickstrom (404), Ron Robinson (401), Peter Kugler (356), Jerry Long (277), Hal Bert (194), Grace Goyena (187), and Bryan Pleger (159). That is an average of 358 hours each!

This deck was deteriorated and a major safety risk when Frances Farley applied to the A Brush With Kindness program. Now that it is repaired and refinished it will provide a safe secondary exit in case of emergency and a nice place to escape the rain.

This year we completed 5 Home Repairs –including three in Springfield, one in Veneta, and one in Elmira. These repairs included a fence replacement, major deck repairs, the addition of an accessibility ramp and new walkway, painting, and more.

A BRUSH WITH KINDNESS HOME REPAIR PROJECTS

ABWK Homeowners may have a gross monthly

income as low as $1,032. We see that this

income is fixed for many of our applicants.

Partner Families earned over 900 hours of Sweat Equity last year*.

These hours are earned by building homes, taking educational classes, and helping with a wide variety of office, ReStore, and event related tasks.

SWEAT EQUITY HOURS

ABWK Homeowner, Mereth Dunn-Estey earned Sweat Equity hours by baking muffins and serving them to hard-working volunteers.

*Sweat Equity hours are not counted in volunteer metrics, per Habitat for Humanity International guidelines.

This year the Family Partnership Committee held a Family Build Day – providing a chance for Future Homeowners to bond with their Family Advocates.

HABITAT BOARD & COMMITTEE MEMBERS

The Board of Directors and Committee Members contributed

over 500 hours to Habitat in the last fiscal year.

This includes the Family Selection Committee, Family Partnership

Committee, Construction Committee, Safety Committee, and more.

Board and Committee Members bring passion and a great deal of expertise to Habitat, enhancing our programs and increasing awareness throughout the community. Thank you for your dedication to Habitat for Humanity!
