— 2017 SNEAK PEEK MAGAZINE —
I am very excited to invite you to ICOM 2017 in Peoria, IL! Someone once said: “The Great Commission is too big for anyone to accomplish alone and too important not to try to do together.” This year’s theme “TOGETHER: God’s Plan to Redeem the World” will address just that. We will be challenged from God’s word and from the African concept of communal effort referred to as “Ubuntu” to work together as
men and women, youth, professionals, non-professionals, citizens of one global village, one body, one spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one
God and Father of all.
We will all be encouraged to network more for the sake of our common Kingdom goal which is for people from all tribes, ethnic groups and languages to be brought into the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. TOGETHER, we will refocus on the remaining unreached and unengaged people groups of the globe who are waiting for you and I to
bring them the Good News. TOGETHER, we shall achieve this with the Lord’s help.
To Peoria! FROM 2017 PRESIDENTENOCH NYADOR

WHAT IS YOUR
MOMENT?We have heard some incredible stories from
people who have attended ICOM. Some have
found internships, some have decided to dedicate
their lives to full time mission work, others have
committed to being a sender, and a couple
have even met & proposed to their spouses at
ICOM! One of the most recent stories we’ve
heard is an ICOM baby announcement.
ICOM is made up of people who all share a
common ground of Jesus Christ. What’s your
connection to ICOM? What significant moment
happened during the conference for you that has
impacted your life? We want to hear your story!
Visit us online at www.theicom.org and find the “I Am ICOM” page.
A form is provided there for you to tell us your story! We will post entries on the web
and social media throughout the year.

THE HUBADULT LEADERS, THIS ROOM IS FOR YOU! Group leaders will meet here for an orientation on Saturday morning. You will find this to be your central location. If you have any questions about the conference at any time, need assistance resolving issues, or just need some coffee to re-energize, then come to this room! This Hub is your “go to” place.
BUILDING PROJECTSICOM has been building walls since 1998 and sending them all over the country to create sheds for disaster victims. We partner with CrossRoads Missions; they do a wonderful job at organizing students into small groups to build a wall section that each student gets to personalize by writing blessings, prayers, and scriptures on the wall studs. Part of your students’ registration helps pay for this project.
PRAYER ENCOUNTERSIn 1999, a group of youth ministers created the idea of a prayer encounter. Students and missionaries rarely have the opportunity to spend time together. This time is for a youth group and a missionary to simply get to know each other. During the prayer time the missionaries will be able to tell their stories and missions journey, and the kids will have an opportunity to ask questions. The missionary will pray for your kids then your kids will pray for the needs of the missionary.
MEAL MAKINGIn 2007, SICOM began using students to help make the world’s most nutritious meal for a child. In this activity, your students will not only be part of an assembly line to make thousands of meals for children in need, but they will also learn about world hunger and the impact that it has on the quality of life in a third world country. Many children will receive a much needed nutritious meal because of the students’ work and the monies they pay toward their registration.
SCAVENGER HUNTThe exhibit hall is an incredible room full of all kinds of mission work going on across the world. We created the “Insta Hunt” scavenger hunt idea as a way to have students mingling in a no pressure environment with those from other cultures. Youth Hope helps us lead this activity.
INTO THE FUTUREWe’re excited to offer a new activity for youth groups this year! “Into the Future” is a time for students to talk with and learn about the many faith-based college options that are available to them. We want to help set our kids up for success and give them some time to ask questions, mingle, play games, and see what the different bible colleges have to offer.
