Re: College Scholarship Program
As an employee of Save Mart Companies, you are eligible to apply for the CGA Educational
Foundation’s annual College Scholarship Program. This year, CGAEF will award 65 scholarships
totaling more than $75,000 for which you may be eligible. Scholarships will be awarded on the
basis of academic merit, evidence of outstanding character, leadership potential, and for some
awards, financial need. Eligible for these scholarships are high school seniors, college
undergraduate and graduate students.
In addition, Save Mart Companies is proud to offer ten $1,000 scholarships to its employees.
Eligible for these scholarships are full or part-time students who are also Save Mart Companies
employees or dependents of employees.
Undergraduate applicants must be planning to enroll as a college student in both the Fall 2017 and
Spring 2018 semesters at an accredited college or university in the United States. Graduate student
applicants must be planning to enroll as a graduate student in either the Fall 2017 and/or Spring
2018 semesters at an accredited college or university in the United States.
If you or your dependent(s) satisfy the eligibility criteria, you may apply online at www.cgaef.org.
Click on the College Scholarship headline. When prompted, enter the program key CGA. The
application will be available beginning January 1, 2017. Completed applications and required
documentation must be submitted by April 1, 2017.

SMEA College Scholarship Info
Application months are: January, and August.
College Scholarships are offered to SMEA members, and dependent family members of a SMEA member (dependent must be claimed on SMEA members taxes).

SMEA Scholarships. SMEA has two scholarship awards, the first is eligible students can receive a scholarship award of $500. SMEA offers up to fifty (50) college scholarships each (January and August) to a select number of eligible students who are graduating high school and enrolling in college or who are currently attending college and pursuing a degree, the second scholarship SMEA awards is a scholarship in memory of Bob Piccinini that began in 2015. The Bob Piccinini scholarship is only available in August and we award up to five (5) students with a scholarship award of $1,000. Students are eligible to receive a scholarship once (1) a calendar year.

INTERNATIONAL DAIRY-DELI-BAKERY ASSOCIATION
UNDERGRADUATE/GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
To support employees of IDDBA-member companies, IDDBA is offering academic scholarships.
Awards from $100 to $1,000 per semester are available to high school seniors and current or
returning college or vocational/technical school students. Because funds are budgeted annually,
available dollars may be prorated among eligible applicants. If financial resources run low,
priority will be given to supermarket dairy, deli, and bakery employees.
Scholarship applicants are required to:
* Be a current (during the college school year) full- or part-time employee of an IDDBA-
member company. YOU MUST WORK A MINIMUM OF 13 HOURS PER WEEK
DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR FOR AN IDDBA-MEMBER COMPANY TO BE
ELIGIBLE FOR AN IDDBA SCHOLARSHIP. To see if your company is a member, call

scholarship page.
* Have an academic field of study in a food-related field (such as culinary arts, baking/pastry
arts, or food science), business, or marketing program.
* Have a 2.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent. (May be waived if you have not
completed an academic term within the past three years; please call for information.)
Application deadlines are: * January 1 * April 1 * July 1 * October 1
Students in the last half of the final semester of their degree program at the time of application
are not eligible. Previous scholarship recipients are eligible to reapply; a maximum of two
scholarships per year, per applicant, may be awarded.
Amount of tuition assistance is to be determined by Scholarship Committee. Payments will be
made jointly to the student and their school.
Scholarships will be awarded without regard to age, sex, race, religion, marital status, national
origin, handicap, or sexual preference.

The 2017 BEVERAGE INDUSTRY COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
One Year - Non Recurring Scholarships range from $2,500 to $5,000
Applicant Qualifies as:
1. California High School Senior who will attend a four year university beginning, Fall 2017. or
2. California Community College student transferring to a four-year university with a 3.0 GPA & Junior Year status beginning, Fall 2017.
Ineligible are students planning to attend a two-year school, and those currently enrolled in a four-year college/university prior to Fall, 2017.
3. Graduate Degree Program: Beginning in 2017, individuals currently employed with a California Beverage licensee, who plan to pursue a post-graduate degree at a US University or College beginning Fall, 2017. Specific application requirements
detailed at the Graduate Degree Program: scholarship applications.
4. High School and Community college applicant’s Parent or Grandparent is employed with a company or individual holding a valid California liquor/beer/wine license. Licensees include hotels, restaurants, wholesale grocery/retail
grocer/drug stores/convenience stores/wineries/breweries, airlines, etc. etc. etc. Employment by Student or other family member DOES NOT qualify.
5. Additional candidate pre-requisites apply per details outlined at each application.

is Is non-profit organization dedicated to serving the grocery industry through the California Grocers Association and Western Association of Food Chains. llluminators Educational Foundation is proud to offer this scholarship program to the most qualified and deserving high school senior and college student (with one or more years of undergraduate work remaining) in the name of the founding officers of illuminators Educational Foundation. In 2017-2018, the Illuminators Educational Foundation (IEF) anticipate awarding $91,000 in College Scholarships: • $2,500 Higher Education award (30 scholarships) • $1,000 Community College award (16 scholarships)
Eligible candidates: High school seniors, full-time college students with one or more years of undergraduate work remaining or adults looking to return to college to further their career within the food industry. Must: be (a) employed in food industry or (b) a direct relative* of anyone who is associated with a current member organization of llluminators, llluminators Educational Foundation, California Grocers Association, or Western Association of Food Chains. * Direct relative is defined as an aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, child, sibling or a grandchild. Selection criteria for High School seniors and current college students seeking $2,500 Higher Education scholarships. (1) Overall analysis of high school/college grade point average, SAT/II or ACT scores. (2) Essay on student's goals/aspirations and the American Free Enterprise System, as well as school and community activities, will be mandatory.Special merit scholarships will be awarded to individuals who have over- come personal adversities, or exhibit unusual needs, and have demonstrated admirable gains in academic standings. Good moral character is expected. Must be or plan on attending an accredited 4-year University. Selection Criteria for students seeking $1,000 Community College Scholarship: SAT/II, submit if available (may not be for returning Adults). Essay is not required for the $1,000 Community College scholarships, see on-line registration for more details).
Fully completed applications should be processed no later than February 24 2017. Final selection will be announced by the llluminators Educational Foundation no later than April 7, 2017. Once a recipient has been selected and has enrolled in an accredited college or university, the award will be deposited with the registrar of the college or university. The funds will be applied against the recipient's expenses for tuition, fees, books, etc. The funds must be used within a 12 month period from the date announced. U.S. legal residents only.

Who is Eligible forthe Scholarship?
What are the Scholarship TimelinesHigh School seniors, college students with one or more years of under-
graduate work remaining, and an Adult returning to college to further their career within the food industry are eligible. Students who work in a food related industry, or are a direct relative of anyone who is associated with a current membership of the illuminators Education Foundation, California Grocers Association or Western Association of Food Chains. Students must be attending an institution that is accredited and is a two or four year college/university in the United States.
What is the SchorshipElection Process?
Criteria selection is based upon the following: High School seniors and College students with one or more undergraduate work remaining: Analysis of high school/college grade point average, SAT/II or ACT scores, school and community activities, moral character, and the essay on the Free Enterprise System. Adult’s returning to college to further their career within the food industry: Community activities, moral character, and the essay. Community College: SAT/II or ACT scores, school and community activities, moral character, Community activities, moral character, no essay is necessary.
All applications criteria is evaluated by ISTS, an independent firm.

University Programs
RMCP credit transfer is at the accepting college’s discretion.
*Tuition approximations are based on the credit load that represents the best value. Your rate may be different depending on the number of credits taken, degree program, and other factors.
Western Governors University is based on a flat rate tuition on $2,890 per six month term regardless of the number of units taken. Tha approximation is based on a 12 credit load. Students who enroll in WGU with the Retail management Certificate can complete a bachelors’s degree in 2 years for approximately $12,000!
