A multi-pronged approach in responding to the needs of the children and their families at-risk in the streets, with an ultimate goal of contributing to the reduction of vulnerabilities and activities of children, families and indigenous peoples at-risk on the streets. It provides a package of services, interventions and opportunities for children and families at-risk on the streets to live productively in a safe environment.

Reducing Vulnerabilities from Hunger and Malnutrition in ARMM

The project will focus on improving the nutritional status of the targeted children beneficiaries and education parents, households and communities to address the bio-psycho social aspect of malnutrition as well as on health, food safety, hygiene and sanitation. Mobilization of beneficiaries to adopt and pursue appropriate strategies and practices and implement community and household-based development activities will also be part of its focus. The program and its intervention will be geared to impact on their health and nutrition, education and poverty-alleviation.

The corn technology demonstration showcases and promotes a matured technology generated by research and development institutions, including those developed by scientists in partnership with farmers. The farmer cooperator shall provide the area/lot for the technology demonstration, fertilizer, labor, and the daily monitoring and maintenance of the farm. On the other hand, the Department of Agriculture provides the seeds and especially the technical assistance from land preparation to harvesting with reference to the proper agricultural practices and technologies.

National Rice Program Hybrid Technology Demonstration/Model Farm (under the National Rice Program)

The hybrid technology/demonstration or model farm aims to showcase the benefits of using hybrid seeds and its production management. Target areas shall focus on fully irrigated areas. However, selected rain-fed areas with adequate water can also be included. Program areas shall be composed of contiguous farms or farm-clusters that can have a minimum area of 10 hectares. The recipients will be provided with hybrid seeds, fertilizers and zinc and/or soil farms or farm-clusters that can have a minimum area of 10 hectares. Herd Build-UP Program

This program aims to ensure and accelerate the increase in local dairy herd may be realized thru the importation of genetic materials like dairy animals and dairy breeding materials, upgrading of existing local animals to dairy breed, production of replacement stocks thru dairy breeding programs like artificial insemination programs and multiplier farm establishment, and the preservation of existing stocks. Increasing the milking animals will significantly affect overall local milk production in the country.

Milk Feeding Program

The Milk Feeding Program provides milk to community and school-based children at risk of malnutrition as well as the elderly, pregnant women and lactating mothers at a feeding period of 120/200 days. Each beneficiary receives a 18 to 200 ml pack of fresh milk or chocolate flavored milk per day five(5) times a week Monday to Friday.

Adopt A School Program (ASP)

The ASP, which was established under Republic Act 8525 or Adopt-A-School Act of 1998, is a vital program of the government to improve access to quality basic education in the country. Contributions under the ASP consist of essential education inputs including: a) infrastructure, physical facilities, furniture, and real estate; b) learning and instructional materials; c) health and nutrition; d) reading programs; e) technology support; f) direct assistance to pupils and students such as provision of school supplies; g) training and development of teachers; h) learning devises for children with special needs; and i) Brigada Eskwela.

Community Mortgage Program (CMP)

The CMP, which has been in continuous existence since 1989, is a community-driven, social housing finance scheme that allows organized communities of informal settler families (ISFs) to obtain security of tenure by providing them affordable community loans for land acquisition, site development, and housing construction.

High Density Housing Program

This community-driven shelter program which was implemented in 2013 gives the ISFs the opportunity to organize themselves into communities and develop their shelter plans and allows them to reside in multi-storey residential buildings. These “People’s Plans” are submitted to SHFC and are made bases for the amount of loan that SHFC can provide the ISF communities for land and building construction or building construction only.

The MRP is being implemented as an expansion of the DOST PINOY strategy in all regions to address the undernutrition problem among our Filipino young children. The DOST package of intervention uses the local technology of rice-mongo based complementary foods rich in protein and energy along with nutrition education of mothers/caregivers.
