1 001-kor Driver’s Anger State Identification by Using Facial Expression in Cooperation with Artificial Intelligence

Masahiro MIYAJI Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Aichi Prefectural University in Japan; [email protected]

Abstract: Recently preventive safety system of vehicle is highlighted to reduce the number of traffic accidents. Driver’s state adaptive driving safety system may be one of candidates of the safety system. Therefore, identifying driver’s psychosomatic states is indispensable to establish those kind of safety systems. Anger of driver state is often seen in traffic congestion situations which may be involved in severe traffic accidents. This research adopted Kohonen neural network as classification algorithm to identify anger state of driver by using facial expression. We adopted six types of facial expression which are ordinary, drowsiness, anger, sorrow, delight and surprise according previous research. We classified six type of facial expressions by using KNN. Finally, this research proposes driver’s anger state alert function by using facial expression classification in cooperation with artificial intelligence to prevent potential risks of traffic accidents.

Abstract: In recent years, e-learning has become a popular learning method in the institutions of higher learning due to the increment of resource allocation and student’s enrolment for such courses. For the purpose of this study, e-learning is referred to as i-Learn – a web based educational system used by the university. Therefore, this study is

Page 19: 2017 IPN CONFERENCES SEOUL, KOREA - Educational …icsm2017.weebly.com/uploads/3/1/4/5/31452987/cp_korea_14-15_apr... · 2017 IPN CONFERENCES SEOUL, KOREA SEOUL, ... Prof. Dr. Abdel

aimed at determining perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and computer self-efficacy on students’ satisfaction in using i-Learn. 226 respondents specifically bachelor degree hospitality students of a public university in Malaysia were surveyed. This study found that all three factors of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and computer self-efficacy have positive and significant relationships with students’ satisfaction on i-Learn. This study will be a significant endeavour in providing guidance to the institutions of higher learning on the effective approach in implementing i-Learn. Findings of the study are also useful to have better knowledge in understanding i-Learn in order to create supportive and conducive environment in promoting an efficient e-learning management system.

Abstract: A Bieberbach group with point group 2 2C C is a free torsion

crystallographic group. The properties of group can be explored by computing the central subgroup of the nonabelian tensor square of the group. A central subgroup of a nonabelian tensor square of a group

,G denoted by ( )G is a normal subgroup generated by generator

g g for all g G and essentially depends on the abelianization of the

group. In this paper, the formula of the central subgroup of the nonabelian tensor square of one Bieberbach group with point group

2 2C C , of lowest dimension 3, denoted by

3(3)S is generalized up to n

dimension. The consistent polycyclic presentation, the derived subgroup and the abelianization of group this group of n dimension are first determined in order to construct the generalization of the central subgroup of the nonabelian tensor square of this group. By using these presentations and some commutator identities, the central subgroup of the nonabelian tensor square of this group of n dimension is constructed. The findings of this research can be further applied to compute the homological functors of this group such as the nonabelian tensor square of the group of n dimension.

Abstract: Comparison of four different profiles clutter (border, seaside, free space and forest) using Forward Scatter Radar (FSR) which operates in Ultra-High and Very High Frequency (UHF and VHF) bands is analyzed in this paper. Clutter levels ranging from low, medium, strong and very strong on each profile were studied. The characteristics of the clutter is investigated and compared based on five distribution models (Log-Normal, Log-Logistic, Gamma, Weibull and Nakagami). Theresult justified that border suits the best profile as the strongest clutter profile amidst seaside and free space, while forest is determined as the lowest clutter profile as the accurate distribution clutter model. The parameters of the five distributions are evaluated using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) test to validate the distributions. Gamma distribution is discovered as the best distribution model for all cases of frequency bands and profiles.

Universiti Teknologi MARA, Wireless communication

Abstract: Wireless communication for flood monitoring is developed to observe the status of flooding which could alert people who were in the area when it happens. Flood is a very common problems that Malaysians faced every year caused by the change of climate and also due to urbanization. These floods can cause a lot of damages and can even endanger to human lives. The flooding can be caused by the overflowing of rivers or drains in the affected area. Problems in rural areas near the river bank, not all equipped with flood warning system. Flood warning system is usually found in the main streets with limited warning distance. Therefore, it is necessary to put a wireless communication system that can detect the rising water levels during flooding and also gives warn the local residents especially those who living along the river banks. This system can be used as flood monitoring tool as well as for evacuation during save and rescue operation. The purpose of this paper is to propose a wireless communication based on Arduino system that can help the local residents by detecting the water levels and give an early warning when a flood occurs. Basically, there are two part of the system which are the sensor node and the base station that can generate warning signal during flooding to the affected area.

Abstract: A Bieberbach group is a torsion free crystallographic group. This group is an extension of a finite point group and a free abelian group of finite rank. In this paper, one Bieberbach group with elementary abelian 2-group point group of dimension three is considered and its group presentation can be shown to be a consistent polycyclic presentation. The studies of the nonabelian tensor squares of groups have revealed many properties of the groups. The main objective of this paper is to compute the nonabelian tensor square of one Bieberbach group with elementary abelian 2-group point group of dimension three by using the computational method of the nonabelian tensor square for polycyclic groups. The finding of the computation showed that the nonabelian tensor square of the group is abelian. Based on this result, the formula of the nonabelian tensor square of the Bieberbach group with elementary abelian 2-group of dimension three can be extended in constructing the generalization of the formula of the nonabelian tensor square of the group up to dimension n. The findings of this research can be used to compute and generalize the other homological functors of this group.

Abstract: We successfully extracted cellulose from pineapple leaves (Ananas comosus) using alkali treatment and bleaching. Alkali treatment was done using aqueous sodium hydroxide while bleaching was done using acetate buffer and aqueous sodium chlorite. The extracted cellulose was characterized using Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and Differential thermal analysis (DTA). SEM micrographs revealed that alkali treatment removed the impurities in the pineapple leaf fibers and subsequent bleaching further purify the fibers leaving mostly cellulose only while hemicellulose and lignin are removed as revealed in the FTIR spectra. TGA spectra further revealed that alkali + bleached treated sample slowly degrade at temperature between 160 °C and 355 °C suggesting that small amount of hemicellulose and lignin are present as compared to the untreated sample. This findings was also confirmed in the DTA spectra suggesting that high quality of extracted cellulose are produced.

Abstract: New polyurethane foams were fabricated utilizing cellulose-based fibers extracted from pineapple (Ananas comosus) leaf as raw material. The pineapple leaf fibers (PALF) were treated with alkali and subsequently bleached to enhance its fiber-matrix adhesion. Polyurethane composites have been prepared by incorporating 10% cellulose-based fibers extracted from PALF during polyurethane synthesis. The Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra revealed that increase in the C-H and C-O vibrational modes absorption were observed when cellulose-based fibers were incorporated. This significant increase in the absorption of the vibrational modes might be attributed to the successful bonding of high purity cellulose-based fibers with the polyurethane foam during the formation process. The physico-chemical, spectral and thermal properties of the polyurethane foam and the cellulose-based fibers reinforced polyurethane composites have been studied.

Furthermore, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra showed a higher N-C-O vibrational mode transmission for bio-based polyols while lower vibrational mode transmission for petroleum-based polyols. On the other hand, FTIR spectra showed a higher O-H vibrational mode transmission for bio-based polyols while lower for the petroleum-based polyols. This phenomenon may trigger a stoichiometric ratio closer to unity between polyols and isocyanate that will significantly produce a homogeneous thin film deposition. Moreover, fabrication of uniform thin films was also influenced by the spin coating speed. The fabricated PU thin films utilizing ESBO-based polyols exhibit a higher thermal stability as indicated in the thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).

Abstract: The influence of utilizing rice straw-based polyols on the morphology, thermal and spectral properties of polyurethane foam is reported. Utilization of rice straw as raw material was done through liquefaction process using ethylene glycol as solvent. It was found out that 30% replacement of rice straw-based polyols produced closed cell structures suitable for insulation material as revealed in Scanning electron microscope images. Higher percentage of rice straw-based polyols replacement will trigger cell wall structure rapturing that will deteriorate the properties of polyurethane foam. Furthermore, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy confirmed the complete reaction of the hydroxyl and isocyanate groups takes place suggesting that high quality polyurethane foam was formed. Moreover, thermo-gravimetric analysis revealed that hard and soft segments degradation for the 30% rice straw-based polyols replacement is comparable with that of the petroleum-based polyols suggesting that bio-based polyols is a good alternative for the formation of polyurethane foams.

Abstract: In the present study, we constructed a financial distress prediction model on the basis of a set of financial ratios, corporate governance variables and intellectual capital. We took sales per employee, per employee equipment, operating expense ratio and sales growth ratio as the proxies of intellectual capitals. This paper obtained 18 financially distressed electronics firms and 36 regular firms which listed in Taiwan Stock Exchange and over the counter during the periods from 2012 to 2015. Instead of the general one-half criteria (the probability of success is 0.5), we adopted the criteria of the dynamic distress threshold value to improve the prediction accuracy of model. The empirical results show that the prediction accuracy of the financial distress model through the threshold value is higher than those the general threshold of 0.5, and adding the intellectual capital could improve the prediction accuracy of the model.

Abstract: Exchange rate serves as the basic link between the local and the foreign markets for several products, services, and financial assets. Movements in the exchange rate can disturb domestic prices of imported goods and services, the cost of servicing on foreign debt, and the country’s external sector through its impact on foreign trade. This study aims to forecast the Exchange Rate (y) of the Philippines for the next five years starting from 2016 to 2020, and determine which among the determinants: Inflation Rate (x1); Purchasing Power of Peso (x2); Interest Rate (x3); Exports (x4); Imports (x5); and Balance of Payments (x6), is a significant factor that can influence Exchange Rate. The researchers used the monthly data of the variables starting from January 1999 to December 2015, which were gathered from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas with a total of 204 observations. In forecasting the dependent variable, the researchers used the Box-Jenkins Methodology. The researchers also examined the granger causal relationship between the variables using the Pairwise Granger Causality Test. Johansen Cointegration Test was also used to check if there exist cointegration among the variables. Stepwise Multiple Linear Regression was performed to determine the significant factors that can actually predict the Exchange Rate. This paper will help the government in monitoring the Exchange Rate, and implementing measures to maintain the order and stability in the foreign exchange market.

Abstract: Economic growth is commonly measured using Gross Domestic Product, and in countries like Philippines, it is very essential to monitor such values in order to govern the nation and its citizens towards progress. In this study, the researchers intend to formulate a mathematical model in estimating GDP of the Philippines, as well as identify some of its factors. GDP is considered as the dependent variable while there are seven independent variables namely Capital Formation, Total Trade, Interest Rate, Inflation Rate, Unemployment Rate, and Stock Exchange Index. This paper make use of the quarterly time series data of the eight variables from 1995 to 2016. Applying normal estimation equation by means of matrices, the estimating equation was formulated, while a multiple linear regression was conducted in order to determine the significant determinants of GDP. According to the results, all of the seven independent variables have a significant relationship with GDP. However, only Capital Formation, Total Trade, Interest Rate, Exchange Rate and Unemployment Rate are found to be significant predictors.

VALIDATION of RIP, EIGRP and OSPF ROUTING PROTOCOLS SIMULATION with SUBNETTING IMPLEMENTATION to ACTUAL OPERATION USING HYPERTERMINAL EMULATOR Archival Sebial 1, Chris Jordan Aliac 2, Elmer Maravillas 3

College of Computer Studies, Cebu Institute of Technology–University, Cebu City, Philippines 1 [email protected] 2 [email protected] 3 [email protected]

Abstract—Hundreds of different network protocols have been created for supporting communication between computers and other types of electronic devices. Routing protocols are the family of network protocols that enable computer routers to communicate with each other and in turn to intelligently forward traffic between their respective networks. In building the networks, a routing mechanism is needed to integrate the entire computer with a high degree of flexibility. Routing is a major part in giving a performance to the network. With many existing routing protocols, performance reference comparison of these routing protocols is of utmost consideration. This paper focuses on corroborating the simulated performances of the RIP, EIGRP and OSPF routing protocols to actual operations. Simulation was employed with the use of a packet tracer and authenticated to real time situation with the use of hyper terminal emulator. Subnetting was also utilized to address and relieve network congestion and security in both environments. In the conduct of the study, results on performances in both simulation and real time situation have been the same. Both yielded same performance results as long as parameters are set consistently. The simulation process had been validated by the actual set-up. Simulation is recommended to study behavior of the system before building it since results are accurate in general. Network administrators can also engage in “what-if” analysis and experiment and investigate unexpected phenomena, cutting time and effort and cost concerns.
