INTERGALACTIC DISCOIn September we had our Intergalactic Disco – Chris and her team did a sensational job decking out the hall to transform it into an interstellar mosh pit for the whole school. Thanks to Jean Smith from Barfoot & Mt Albert whose generous support made the event happen.

CALENDARS & CARDSOur calendars and cards fundraiser is always a popular fundraiser to finish the year and this year was no exception. The kid’s art work looked awesome as ever – thanks to all the families who supported this to raise over $2000. Thanks also to Shelley and her team for sorting and compiling the orders.

SAUSAGE SIZZLE, BONZA BURGER & HOT DIGGETY DOGSThe PTFA branched out this year and tried a few different menu items-whoknowthatthereweresomanydifferentwaysthatyoucouldservemeat,breadandsauce!Allprovedpopularwiththekidsandweappreciateeveryonewhogetsinbehindthesefundraisers throughout the year.

INAUGURAL GOLF DAY March 2018As well as all the favourites next year, Mark and his team are well underway with organising a fundraising golf day at Maungakiekie Golf Course on Friday 23 March. This is a new fixture on the fundraising calendar and is sure to be a lot of fun.

Start working on getting a team of four together and thinking of a good excuse as to why you can’t be at work on that Friday afternoon. More details to follow in the new year.

We will also be looking for businesses to sponsor individual holes and to provide spot prizes – if you think you can help contact Mark Neville on [email protected] or anyone else on the PTFA.

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR:This year has been another fantastic year for the PTFA, with the committee and volunteers working hard to deliver a wide range of fundraising, pastoral care and community-related initiatives. Every event takes a small (and sometime not-so-small) team of helpers to organise it. As a school we are fortunate to have such a dedicated group who give their time to deliver all of the things that the PTFA are involved in.

Equally important is the support of the families and wider school community to ensure that the PTFA initiatives are a success. In the years that I have been involved in the PTFA it is gratifying to see the range events and activities growing, as well as support for them going from strength to strength. It makes all the hard work worthwhile and ensures our volunteers come back for more!

Even though we are just a little school, we punch well above our weight in terms of the funds we raise and the support we provide across the school and parish community. Thanks to each and everyone of you who help out in ways big and small to make Marist School the great little community that it is.

Happy holidays, Gerard
